Peaceful Lake, Lovely Weekend

As two couple and a dog, we had a lovely 3-night stay at this chalet! The lake is absolutely gorgeous - calm, clean, and perfect for swimming. The chalet itself was clean, cute, nicely designed, and equipped with everything we needed - from a spacious bathroom with excellent water pressure, to a grill, to a large deck for birdwatching and dining outside. Elisabeth was also incredibly communicative throughout our stay, and even supplied us with extra beach towels immediately after we requested them. Two small notes for future guests: the ground floor bedroom got a bit warm since the window didn't open. Also, the walk from the chalet to the dock involved a very steep, wooded path, which might be difficult for some. The walk to the beach, while beautiful, was also a little bit longer than we had anticipated. That said, we would absolutely return to enjoy the stunning lake and peaceful lodging in the future. Thank you Elisabeth for putting so much care and attention into our stay!

Parking is on the side of the road (little spot for car). Many steps to go up and down to the cottage to unpack. Oven dirty. Old coffee grounds still in coffee maker. BBQ really dirty, grills rusty and no propane. Hardly any room to put clothes in the one and only wardrobe as many items in it (i.e. life jackets, etc.). Cottage next door under construction for day 2 and 3 all day so no sitting outside due to noise from crane digging. No bath matt. Not lakeside as stipulated on website (en bord de lac). Cannot see the lake from the cottage. Two trails to the lake were very steep. Pedalos were upside down, seats removed and sitting on top along with 2 kayaks and on a small incline. Could not lift (we were 2 woman in late 60's) and bring to lakeside as too heavy, so unable to enjoy the lake. Although not the owner's fault, day 3 power failure at 4pm due to storm; could not find emergency candles or flashlights. Had to use cell phones for lighting. Sent message to owner but no reply until next day. Had to go buy candles at depanneur in pouring rain. Day 4 still no power at 9AM and hardly any water to flush toilet or use sink. Lost all our food from the freezer. Had to get our morning coffee from the depanneur. Not knowing when it would come back and no use of toilet or cooking, we packed up and climbed those awful steps to bring everything to the car and left that morning. Owner apologetic and thanked us for our understanding. Very disappointing considering the price.

A cute cottage for fair weather a bit too small for being housebound.

The cottage was clean but the yard and gardens a bit unkept and a piece of garbage in the yard. Communication was friendly and timely. Checkin was a breeze. The stairs to the cottage were lit. Hanging fly traps on one hand helped keep bugs away but emitted an unpleasant odour. The photos of the cottage are very well done and made us believe the cottage was isolated. There are cottages on each side and behind. A neighbouring cottage is under construction with materials lying around. The path to the road to the lake access and beach is alongside the construction site. Lake access and beach are in walking distance. Neither are on the property. Unfortunately it rained all week so we did not get to use the outdoor spaces and the indoor space felt cramped. We used the loft bedroom for our bags and for dressing (closets and dressers were all in use). Otherwise, the cottage was big enough for the three of us (2 adults and one dog). The fridge and stove worked well. The door was off the dryer. The shower pressure was good. After heavy rain we noticed an odour in the bathroom. They were unable to get a plumber in until after we left. We had trouble getting the tv going but managed to
