Maple Hill Cottage sits within two acres of landscaped gardens with views out to the scenic Huon River and mountains beyond.
Beautifully appointed, peaceful and private our historic cottage is a very comfortable self contained haven centrally located in the picturesque Huon Valley.
Castle Forbes Bay is a delightful 15 minute riverfront drive from Huonville, 7 minutes from the pretty village of Franklin and 10 minutes from Geeveston.

There was nothing more we could have wanted, every little detail was thought of and provided. Absolutely fabulous place to stay to start our holiday with a wind down. Scenery, birdlife and the highland cows next-door were an added treat. Can highly recommend staying here!

our stay when visiting Tasmania was beautiful. the views and area of the cottage was very peaceful. All the amenities worked great. Host was extremely helpful and made us feel welcome. Would recommend and would stay again.

Everything was brilliant. Perfect location. The home was perfect and very comfortable. The host supplied everthing to make the stay a success. Not only was the kitchen practical and well equipped the bedding was luxurious. It didn't stop there...there was a delicious home made tea cake and home baked bread still warm . Couldn't ask for more.

Marvellous Maple Hill

Beautifully presented with fresh flowers, home baked bread still warm from the oven, great linen, fluffy towels, friendly dogs next door and vistas down to the Huon. Great place to prepare and recover from Hartz Peak walk. Thank you Gerry

Relaxing getaway

My family and I had a lovely stay here. Breathtaking views in a peaceful, relaxing environment. We arrived to a fresh loaf of home made bread and were given a large bowl of the most delicious cherries I've ever eaten! Our 8 and 5 year olds had lots of space to run around and loved interacting with the friendly neighbouring dogs. Highly recommend!

Idyllic Country Cottage

We arrived at this well equiped cottage to find a bowl of fresh fruit, chocolates and home made sourdough bread, it doesn't get any better than that. The distance from any main road made it a tranquil place to rest after busy days sight seeing and the owners were lovely. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for beautiful views and a tranquil setting while still being in the heart of the Huon Valley and all it has to see.

Peaceful serenity

The night away was about respite and change of scenery and that is exactly what we got at this beautiful cottage accommodation. It was so very clean, well equipped, welcoming and tranquil. The outlook, the gardens, the birds and of course the friendly cows who came to welcome us at the fence. I would absolutely visit again and plan to very soon.

Quiet country getaway

A tranquil and gorgeous property, tree lined with lots of bird life. It is petite in size, particularly the kitchen with a bar fridge and 2 burner hot plate. Bring easy meals and enjoy with the home made bread from Gerry who even delivered a cake in the rain. It was a lovely place to relax for a couple nights, with exquisite linen on the beds. Highly recommend the tour at nearby Wooden Boat Building Centre. It was a highlight.

What a treat! Maple Hill Cottage at Castle Forbes Bay is a beautifully presented country cottage with a touch of yesteryear nostalgia, tucked away in a gorgeous setting of apple orchards and native bush, with great views. The hosts complimented our stay with many thoughtful touches, such as freshly cut garden flowers for the table and a homemade loaf for breakfast. Thank you so much!

Beautiful cottage. Pretty and quaint. Gardens beautiful. Position of house it is adjacent to was a spoiler for us. We were envisioning sitting out looking over valley enjoying view, not rooftop so close.The hostess was very hospitable and had put beautiful roses in room. Not being able to go for a nice bush walk was disappointing. For relaxation and comfort though this was exceptional.
