About this property
Heart of Santa Fe: Modern Guesthouse & Small Patio 6 Blocks to Plaza
Sweet standalone backyard guesthouse in the awesome South Capitol district, the heart of downtown Santa Fe! Our home and guesthouse are in a quiet historic neighborhood—one of Santa Fe's oldest and most charming—yet steps away from the hustle and bustle of downtown's best shops, restaurants, bars, markets, galleries, and more. Enjoy a tranquil, beautiful space to relax with all new furnishing and appliances, while you walk everywhere to see the best of the sights during your Santa Fe adventure.
Walk to everything: reach our town's top dining, galleries, markets, coffee shops, boutiques, and bars in minutes on foot. The must-see Plaza, Railyard, and Canyon Road are all blocks away (and you have your very own parking spot in our driveway to use throughout your visit!).
The casita has wood and tile floors throughout. Being in a family-friendly area makes it a good fit for reading, sleeping, working, or just relaxing after a day of exploring. A shaded portal with small table and chairs is ready for enjoying coffee or a glass of wine. The casita is located in our backyard, and we have a toddler and two dogs. Across the street is a school, so while you won’t hear wild parties, you may hear the noises of daily life.
South Capitol's Don Gaspar Historic District, where our home is located, is recognized by the National Register of Historic Places. This district begins a few blocks south of the famous Santa Fe Plaza; you can see a lot of wonderful older homes in a variety of styles---and of course iconic New Mexican brightly colored doors and gates---going for a walk down the surrounding lanes.
Your home is only one block to the New Mexico State Capitol roundhouse building, coffee shops, Kaune's gourmet grocery store, bars, restaurants, and shops. We are just six blocks to the historic Santa Fe plaza, and ten minutes' walk to the Santa Fe Farmer's Market, Railyard Arts District, Canyon Road galleries, and Whole Foods.
Furniture chosen for the space, full-sized appliances, and light and airy decor throughout the space. Walnut plank wood flooring in the living/dining room and bedroom, tile in kitchen and bath, whitewashed pine ceilings throughout.
The casita has a small patio with two sets of glass doors--one each opening into the living/dining area and bedroom. Bedroom has double curtains, so you can make your sleeping space as sunny or as cozy as you like. Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, and outfitted with a full-size refrigerator and freezer, four-burner cooktop and oven, cookware, cutlery, French press, kettle, and the like.
One parking spot for guests is available in the driveway directly in front of the casita; additional street parking is also available. We live in the main house next door, and look forward to sharing our casita with you and all that Santa Fe has to offer.
We are a graphic/web designer and an architect, and look forward to sharing our favorite food, outdoor, hiking, hot springs, shopping, and arts destinations in and around the city, and helping you have a memorable, stress-free (and beautiful!) visit to our town.

This place was perfect because downtown Santa Fe and all it has to offer was just a short walk away. The casita was clean and the hosts were very accommodating to any of our needs.
The casita is welcoming. It's small, just right for one or two people. It's a good location to be close to the historic downtown Santa Fe area. There were plenty of bedroom outlets for my bedroom electronics. I had a problem w the dry bushes scraping at the car in the parking spot. Even so, parking is easy once you've got yourself located.
The property was clean, well maintained, beautifully decorated, and the hosts were available for anything you might need. We were able to walk to the plaza and we are not usually walkers! I would definitely recommend this property!
We enjoyed the casita. Easy walk to restaurants and other activities in the city. It was nice staying in a different part of town. It gave us a new perspective. We had one issue but it was handled quickly.
In the heart of Santa Fe, steps away from downtown. We loved walking everywhere from here, such a quiet lovely neighborhood. The listing is perfect too, just a great relaxing space to come back to after a day of exploring. Really couldn't be any better, all the amenities, great owners, private parking space, comfortable bed - what else is needed?!

Just like home.
Kristin and Bryan have such a lovely space in this rental, cared for as if it was their own home. It was comfortable, perfectly clean and decorated. The most generous hosts my husband and I have ever had.
Five stars across the board...I truly enjoyed my stay at Kristin’s casita. The casita was clean, cozy, comfortable and had everything that I needed for my stay in Santa Fe. It was in walking distance to everything that I needed in downtown. I would gladly stay there again should the opportunity arise. And Kristin was a fantastic host!!
We loved staying at this quaint yet spacious guest house with a fully equipped kitchen . Could not ask for a nicer , cleaner place that was so convenient for walking to almost all downtown attractions with the added benefit of being in a quiet neighborhood. Our hosts were so helpful and responded immediately to any questions . The “casita” had an information book that provided lots of good tips on restaurants& what to do & where to go etc. We would highly recommend staying here !
This is the place you want to be. If the size meets your needs, you can do no better. Property itself is excellent, fantastically located and the owners are the crème de la crème.

Great location, quiet neighborhood
Great location for The Plaza, Railyard, Canyon Road, grocery store. Barely used my car at all. Comfortable, great hosts!
Only drawback is the casita is slightly dark in the evening but I gave that feedback to the owners and don’t doubt they’ll make it great!
Definitely a 5 Star with more light.
A wonderful place for two! Attractive Casita with plenty of space for two adults who want to be near the Plaza, restaurants, shops and more.
A quiet and safe place to retreat after busy days. Fresh air and fans helped move the air around the rooms in the evening for sleeping.
Books about the area were on the coffee table for our use. Our hosts provided information for travel to nearby attractions
Purchase tickets in advance for Abiqui.
We loved staying here and I really appreciated all of the nice warm touches in the Casita. We cooked a couple meals in the kitchen was great and we were a block away from food trucks for one meal we had to go in only short walk to downtown Santa Fe. I could not recommend more strongly place to stay if you’re thinking about it. Very safe and quaint
Very clean and comfortable. Walking distance to most everything! Owners are ready to help with any questions about the area and space. Checking in was very easy. Would highly recommend!
This Casita is pleasant and comfortable. It suited my need for an extended stay for business in Santa Fe, with a full kitchen and close grocery stores. The couple who own the property are helpful. Excellent location, close to historic sites and restaurants.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property! It is conveniently located, close to lots of shopping, galleries, restaurants, and museums. The owners were so helpful and responded quickly to questions before we arrived and during our stay. They provided a notebook that is full of helpful info about the property and about Santa Fe (restaurants, shopping, galleries, hiking, walking trails, etc.)
The casita was perfect! Comfortable bed, well appointed kitchen, plenty of room for 2. Close enough to walk to the plaza. Bryan and Kristen were great hosts. The casita was cozy and quiet, we’ve never slept so well on vacation.
Excellent experience at a beautiful property. So close to down town and all the ‘happening’ places in Santa Fe. Owners were so hospitable...offered us coffee the first morning after our horrific travel experience and our late check-in. Truly one of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed inside
Thank you.
Best place to stay for one or two people! Lovely casita in quiet neighborhood is within walking distance of plaza & canyon road art district. Home owner is extremely helpful. If we return to Santa Fe, this will be our first choice for rental.

Stylish casita, great location
We loved staying in this casita! Everything looks brand new, from the furniture to the pots and pans, and was super clean. The decor is clean and stylish, and thoughtfully considered. The kitchen is well equipped and had everything we needed for cooking simple meals. I appreciated the good supply of dish towels (stayed in one place in CA that had 1 dish cloth and 1 tea towel!). The cleaning and bath products were nice, too. It really felt like all of the details were carefully planned.
The location was excellent - we walked to Plaza, art museums, Railyard. Grocery options were close by.
We would definitely recommend this house and would stay here again. Thank you!
