About this property

Heart of Santa Fe: Modern Guesthouse & Small Patio 6 Blocks to Plaza

Sweet standalone backyard guesthouse in the awesome South Capitol district, the heart of downtown Santa Fe! Our home and guesthouse are in a quiet historic neighborhood—one of Santa Fe's oldest and most charming—yet steps away from the hustle and bustle of downtown's best shops, restaurants, bars, markets, galleries, and more. Enjoy a tranquil, beautiful space to relax with all new furnishing and appliances, while you walk everywhere to see the best of the sights during your Santa Fe adventure.

Walk to everything: reach our town's top dining, galleries, markets, coffee shops, boutiques, and bars in minutes on foot. The must-see Plaza, Railyard, and Canyon Road are all blocks away (and you have your very own parking spot in our driveway to use throughout your visit!).

The casita has wood and tile floors throughout. Being in a family-friendly area makes it a good fit for reading, sleeping, working, or just relaxing after a day of exploring. A shaded portal with small table and chairs is ready for enjoying coffee or a glass of wine. The casita is located in our backyard, and we have a toddler and two dogs. Across the street is a school, so while you won’t hear wild parties, you may hear the noises of daily life.

South Capitol's Don Gaspar Historic District, where our home is located, is recognized by the National Register of Historic Places. This district begins a few blocks south of the famous Santa Fe Plaza; you can see a lot of wonderful older homes in a variety of styles---and of course iconic New Mexican brightly colored doors and gates---going for a walk down the surrounding lanes.

Your home is only one block to the New Mexico State Capitol roundhouse building, coffee shops, Kaune's gourmet grocery store, bars, restaurants, and shops. We are just six blocks to the historic Santa Fe plaza, and ten minutes' walk to the Santa Fe Farmer's Market, Railyard Arts District, Canyon Road galleries, and Whole Foods.

Furniture chosen for the space, full-sized appliances, and light and airy decor throughout the space. Walnut plank wood flooring in the living/dining room and bedroom, tile in kitchen and bath, whitewashed pine ceilings throughout.

The casita has a small patio with two sets of glass doors--one each opening into the living/dining area and bedroom. Bedroom has double curtains, so you can make your sleeping space as sunny or as cozy as you like. Kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, and outfitted with a full-size refrigerator and freezer, four-burner cooktop and oven, cookware, cutlery, French press, kettle, and the like.

One parking spot for guests is available in the driveway directly in front of the casita; additional street parking is also available. We live in the main house next door, and look forward to sharing our casita with you and all that Santa Fe has to offer.

We are a graphic/web designer and an architect, and look forward to sharing our favorite food, outdoor, hiking, hot springs, shopping, and arts destinations in and around the city, and helping you have a memorable, stress-free (and beautiful!) visit to our town.

Great location and host!
The property was clean, well maintained, beautifully decorated, and the hosts were available for anything you might need. We were able to walk to the plaza and we are not usually walkers! I would definitely recommend this property!

The Perfect Place
A wonderful place for two! Attractive Casita with plenty of space for two adults who want to be near the Plaza, restaurants, shops and more. A quiet and safe place to retreat after busy days. Fresh air and fans helped move the air around the rooms in the evening for sleeping. Books about the area were on the coffee table for our use. Our hosts provided information for travel to nearby attractions Purchase tickets in advance for Abiqui.

Perfect Location
In the heart of Santa Fe, steps away from downtown. We loved walking everywhere from here, such a quiet lovely neighborhood. The listing is perfect too, just a great relaxing space to come back to after a day of exploring. Really couldn't be any better, all the amenities, great owners, private parking space, comfortable bed - what else is needed?!

If you considering other options in SAF, don't!
This is the place you want to be. If the size meets your needs, you can do no better. Property itself is excellent, fantastically located and the owners are the crème de la crème.
