This motel as it is laughlingly called is the worst place I have paid good money to stay at. It is cold, damp and smells very musty, there are gaps around windows and doors, the windows weep with condensation and there is evidence of mould on the frames. The instant coffee provided had lumps in it and the sugar also had lumps of coffee in it.The bed sheets looked to be clean and it would have been nice to say the bed cover was also clean, but alas this was not the case and there were several nasty looking stains on it. The bathroom is a shared space with the entrance as is the toilet and the water pressure is nothing short of pathetic. Parking is some distance from the unit and when raining the area floods so wet feet are a feature if you wish to escape this abomination of a motel when there is a bit of rain. The complex is for sale and I would reccomend any purchaser demolish it immediately and start again.

Little bit tricky with the shower at the front door. Heating wasn’t very good, would be good to put the tv on a bracket that moves so you can watch from bed.

For the price point this accomodation is pretty good for a one-night stay. However the roof/floor of the second story is very thin and we heard children stomping on the roof in to the late hours of the night. The shower drain was blocked and the shower experience was similar to being peed on. There was what I hope was dog poo in the car park area which was slightly off putting and there was a random hair ball near our front door when we checked in. Also recommend taking extra blankets if you're not used to the colder months in Kaikoura. Overall got what we paid for and for the price point am likely to stay again but we wanted to be fully open and transparent in this review. :)
