We needed a weekend getaway. Perfect for us located among the pines and sweet gum trees.I would stay again. Cabin was furnished well, clean and orderly.
My husband & I wanted a quiet, peaceful place to rest after fishing & enjoying the lake for our 32nd anniversary! This place was perfect! Very affordable, nice comfy beds & ice cold air was much appreciated after long hot days on the lake. Nice shade trees & screened in porch!! We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back and maybe bring our kids & grandkids next time!!

Great little cabin
Boys said it was great, only down fall is they wish they could have had an outdoor fire. But that's ok. It worked perfect for their stay.

Our stay at big fish cabin
I want to thank robin at big fish cabins for their hospitality. What a great person. We had a small problem with the air conditioner, and she got right on it. She moved us to an even nicer cabin at no extra expense to us,an was mopping floors late in the evening to make sure the cabin was clean. The cabin, gas, food restaurant, and boat launch are all within a half mile. I will most definitely stay there again.

Nice but not as advertised.
Let me start with this is a nice cabin in a beautiful location. It was clean and cozy. Didn’t have a stove but I knew that going in. My issues are with what is advertised. The reason we chose this place was because it is advertised that you can leave your boat in the water within walking distance. Well not so. The area of water is severely overgrown and nasty. Not anywhere near the cabin so it isn’t secure either. So we had to put boat in and out all weekend which we hadn’t planned on. Also it is advertised that there is wifi. Well in our cabin this isn’t so. I brought my schoolwork with me to study when I wasn’t on lake and had zero internet on site and no signal on phone. When I emailed the owner all I got was “you may be too far from the router” really? Shouldn’t we have been told this. Had we have known these two very important details we would have stayed elsewhere. BUT if those two things aren’t needed this was the perfect place for a fishing getaway!

I'm sorry you were not happy with your stay. Yes it is true that this time of year the hydrila is very thick. This is true in all of the coves across the entire lake. (Which we have no control over). Only a few months ago, we had guests who would leave 5 boats at a time, in the water at our property. Thats one of the down sides to booking via VRBO. Not only do you have to read everything, including the section that tells you how far your cabin is from the water, but you are not able to have a conversation with me. If I had known you planned to access the water I could have given you details. I'm not sure why you had no cell service. I have Verizon which is well known for poor service in this area since we are so remote. I am able to get the strongest signal in the entire park from inside this cabin. The WIFI in our park, which are very proud to finally have, is new and does not work as well inside the cabins under the tin roofs. We hope to make improvements in the future, as they are made available to us, but the majority of our guests do not come to the lake to use a computer. They enjoy what the lake and Angelina National Forest has to offer.

Quant, quite and perfect!!!
The cabin was perfect for two for a quick, weekend getaway the Sam Rayburn. The cabin was, clean and well organized. The area was a quick drive to the boat launch and around the corner from some good eatin'. All in all it was a fantastic trip. We will defiantly be renting this space again. Thank you Robin!!!

Just right for two short term
The owner was easy to work with and very friendly. Cute little cottage close by other places if there's a big group. Cabin was just right for two - comfy twin beds, small kitchen and bathroom.
Wasp nest near the front door was dangerous as the wasps came at us when we opened the door. One adult got stung, thank goodness it wasn't one of the kids with our group. An almost empty can of wasp spray was found after calling the owner. We had to use several sprays of various products to slow them down.
