Heart of Alfama - Where Alfama, Graça & Castle Meet
Discover Lisbon from its most iconic neighbourhoods: Castelo, Alfama, and Graça. Our apartment sits right where these three historic districts meet — a perfect base to explore the city's soul.
Just an 8-minute walk from the Castle of São Jorge, one of Lisbon’s highest points, you'll enjoy sweeping views over the city and the Tagus River. On your way back, stop by Chapitô, a circus school turned bar and terrace with one of the best panoramic views in Lisbon.
In Alfama, lose yourself in narrow alleys, charming viewpoints, and vibrant riverside spots. Let the sounds of Fado (Portugal’s soulful music, recognised by UNESCO) guide your steps through this atmospheric neighbourhood where it all began.
And from Graça, take in breathtaking views from its famous viewpoints, stroll through the quirky Feira da Ladra flea market (just 4 minutes away), or hop on the iconic tram 28 right around the corner.
These three neighbourhoods are beautifully celebrated in the song "Lisboa Menina e Moça" by Carlos do Carmo — and our apartment is right in the heart of them.

Comfortable well equipped apartment Central to Alfama but in quiet area. The beds were comfortable and the apartment very clean and well maintained. The rental team of Ruth and Sonia were great. We stayed in February when weather was 50-65F. We would stay here again.
Good location allowed us to walk to most of the areas we were interested in exploring. Ruth was very helpful - easy check-in process and some wonderful recommendations. Great value for 2 friends sharing the expense.
We had a wonderful stay at this charming Alfama apartment. Our hostess met us at the apartment and provided so many great recommendations along with lots of helpful information, which we really appreciated. We referenced it daily! The apartment was extremely clean and very comfortable. We were especially happy with how comfortable the beds were. The bathroom was spacious, and the dehumidifier worked exceptionally well. While we loved the location, it’s worth noting that there is quite a bit of uphill walking in the area. Ubers are available, but we truly enjoyed walking through the hidden streets and exploring Alfama on foot.
This was a perfect stay. The apartment was lovely. The neighborhood was perfect, an easy ride to any place in Lisbon. Plus, the neighborhood was full of wonderful places to eat. We felt comfortable and at home the whole time. We actually asked if it was possible to rent for a month in the future. Ruth provided so much information it was like having a private guide. We strongly recommend this apartment!
Great house! Friendly neighbors, super easy to get around, lose to the no. 28 electric tram. Easy to get coffee at the bakery around the corner. Great restaurants close by. The apartment had everything we needed!
This apartment was perfect for us. It’s in a great location. The communication for check in was great and Hute gave us all kinds of recommendations. She did not steer us wrong. I would stay here again.
Great location in the oldest historical neighborhood. Walking distance from downtown Lisbon location. The building manager (Rute/ Ruth) speaks several languages fluently (Portuguese, English, French) and is very helpful and knowledgeable about the city and Portugal in general. Should you be over 6 feet (185cm) watch your head going though the door leading to the toilet. Important: No AC.
The apartment was described as noted and met all of our needs. Very quiet central location in walking distance to shops, restaurants and grocery store. Received a great welcome from Ruth who provided us with information on the area, showed us around and introduced us to the local market where I purchased a great pair of handmade sandals. Ruth was definitely a plus to making our experience in Lisbon a great one!!
Ruth was amazing, she met us at the apartment and spent a lot of time going over maps and answering questions. She later sent me a list of things to do and see and those that weren’t worth the time. Overall her recommendations were very helpful.
This is a clean, well located apartment in the Alfama, which is a prime Lisbon neighborhood. It is easy to access due to its being on the ground floor, important with transporting luggage. The property manager was prompt and very thoughtful with her suggestions for entertainment and food. While I'm quite sure that this is a non-smoking apartment, the neighbors do smoke and the subtle smoke smell is inescapable/ present. This is not possible to avoid, as smoking appears to be more tolerated in Portugal. Other than that, this is a wonderful space that has all the amenities that you would want to explore this wonderful neighborhood / city.

Disliked: Check-in, communication
The map pin and directions for Uber drop off were completely inaccurate. We were told many details by text that made us think we were well taken care of, but in the end, it was completely unhelpful. We were dropped near by with no clear way to find the place ("tell the driver to turn right" but she left out the part about turning left from the pinned place to get to the street where we were to turn right!), so we ended up in two Ubers, and by the time we arrived, the host kept slipping in rude comments and questions about why we were late and blaming us for missing her bus (even thou we actually arrived just before 3pm when the listing says is check in time). During the tour, the host told us that the microwave was recently broken and couldn't be fixed in time for our visit, which seemed unlikely, and actually asked us if we would let an electrician in during one day of our stay to repair exposed wires in the bath/laundry room. The host also let us know that one of the coffee pods was used because she had to have one while she waited for us. No mention of replacing it, and still accusing us for lateness when the directions were inaccurate. The rooms themselves are very comfortable and set up beautifully. The area had a few decent cafes and supermarket within a 10 minute walk. Skip the "famous" flea market on Sunday - garbage. It's a nice enough place, and I recommend it if you have time enough to wander to find it. Pack lightly because all the streets are cobblestone.
