This property has been legally licensed for short term rental with the City of New Orleans (license # 23-NSTR-17373 and 23-OSTR-02079).
Come spend time in New Orleans in a traditional residential neighborhood like the locals do. This cozy 1 bed/1 bath cottage is over 100 years old and contains many aspects of the classic architecture for which New Orleans has become renowned - beautiful hardwood floors, 12-foot ceilings, original fixtures, and clawfoot bathtub. The classic architecture is juxtaposed with modern amenities to provide a level of comfort that contemporary travelers have come to expect, including a brand new Sterns & Foster Luxury queen bed to help you sleep well after hitting the city. The full kitchen is equipped with gas stove/oven, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, butcher block countertops, microwave, and coffee maker. Additional items provided to make you feel at home include a 40" smart TV, internet, bluetooth speaker, and ductless AC/Heater with independent temperature control in bedroom and living room. This is an ideal home for couples on a romantic getaway or the individual business traveler.
Located in the heart of Carrollton Uptown and only 3 blocks from Oak Street, this is the perfect rental for those seeking the genuine New Orleans experience buffered from the noisy and drunken tourist traps. Some of the gems that are within walking distances include top-tier restaurants (Boucherie and Jacques-Imo's), music clubs (Maple Leaf), coffeeshops (Rue de La Course and Zotz) and various other shops on Oak Street. Only 1 block away is the Carrollton Streetcar Line connecting you to the rest of the city for a mere $1.25 fare - take it through Carrollton's magnificent oak canopy to beautiful St. Charles Avenue, passing Tulane/Loyola/Audubon Park, through to the Warehouse District/CBD and, finally, to Canal Street and the French Quarter.
Additionally, should you need anything ranging from recommendations or unexpected needs then I will be right next door to accommodate as much as possible.

This spot is fantastic and easy to get to all the best Carrollton has to offer. Alex was a gracious host and very communicative. I can’t recommend this place enough.
Great host and great location. Very clean and comfortable. Alex was great and very helpful and attentive, fast to respond and willing to help. We would stay here again, the neighborhood was great with everything you need within walking distance.
We have now stayed at this location twice. We would have stayed there a number of other times, but it was alway booked. It is a good value for the cost and I would highly recommend it.
Conveniently located near the street car line and many excellent restaurants and music in the Oak St. area as well as a pharmacy and grocery store. The host is helpful and accommodating.
Alex was a great host--easily accessible and prompt at responding to questions. The apartment is a traditional "shotgun" style unit, meaning you pass through each room to get to the next one--no hallway per se. It was clean and nicely decorated. In this case, the kitchen is the last room, so you enter the living room, then bedroom then kitchen. The bathroom is between the bedroom and living room and is updated. I only used the kitchen for coffee and to store some breakfast items, so really didn't cook. It looked decently equipped. The unit comes with coffee (local Community blend) and powdered sugar and creamer and a small, 4-cup coffee pot. There were some spices and things in the cupboard. The bed is very comfortable. The shower is awesome--great water pressure, although you have to step into the clawfoot tub which could be hard for some. I happened to be there during a record-breaking cold snap, and even with two heaters it was a bit chilly given the high ceilings--very unusual for NOLA. I had no trouble parking on the street--usually right in front of the apartment. There are several coffee shops, and a corner market within walking distance. I did have a car so can't speak to public transportation. I think this is a good unit for one person or a couple.
This was my second stay at Alex’s. He is a wonderful host and the property is clean and lovely.

Great house and location!
I’ve stayed in a lot of VRBO’s in Nola and this was my favorite. Clean, conveniently located and Alex was very accommodating. Would definitely stay again!
Had a great time staying in this cozy cottage. Fully appointed with kitchen, laundry, etc. Though I was out and about so much I didn't get to cook here! The host was attentive and polite. Can't wait to return...!
Nice property, perfect for two, comfortable for four. Clean and the host is very friendly and responsive. Nice neighborhood. Walkable to food places an added plus. Will definitely stay there again !
I love this property and the location. This is one of my favorite neighborhoods in New Orleans. Alex is a fantastic host who is personable and quick to respond. Great to have the owner next door. The only knocks on the property now that I've stayed a couple times have to do with the inconsistent wifi connection and the general layout of the furniture, especially in the bedroom. It is a lot to maneuver around the large bed to get to the kitchen--a tight and awkward squeeze to when carrying groceries, etc. I'd definitely suggest a different bed placement to allow for greater ease of movement and accessibility through that room.
This place was ideal for us. We’ve always loved this neighborhood and proximity to Oak St. and our favorite places! Thanks Alex for being a wonderful host.
We had an amazing time staying here. The house was exactly as pictured. Bed was very comfortable. Great location. Walking distance to restaurants, bars and trolly. We would definitely stay here again
Loved the location and accommodations. Very comfortable bed. One block from the street car- perfect location. Alex was prompt with his responses and offered a list of restaurants within walking distance.

About the host
Hosted by Alex Dmytraczenko
Having been born to a Brazilian mother and a Russian father, I was instilled with a traveling spirit from an early age. My father traveled the world on business when I was young and we occasionally benefited from his travels. As soon as I was able, I began feeding my hunger for travel around the world. The advent of short term rentals provided an additional dimension to my travels in that I could experience locations more intimately by staying at the homes of local residents instead of corporate hotels. Additionally, I was fortunate enough to befriend many of the homeowners from which I rented. Now that I have "permanently" settled into the city I love and have become a home owner, I could not be happier to finally experience the flip side of this experience as a home owner offering my house to other travelers. I'm very much looking forward to meeting travelers from around the world and serve as their host in the beautiful city of New Orleans.
Why they chose this property
I had lived in New Orleans as a renter for 3.5 years previously, but had to leave the city because of Katrina. After experiencing many of life's twists and turns, I was able to move back to New Orleans 9 long years later. This time I was set on purchasing a home and settling down. I also knew that I did not want to be in the heart of the touristy New Orleans. Uptown was an easy call as it provides access to all New Orleans has to offer while provide a buffer from the everyday craziness. When I found this cottage in the traditional shotgun double style in need of renovations, I knew it was the signal I needed to jump head first into this experience.
