About this property

Lakeside Camp with an Amazing View

Welcome to our lakeside camp in the heart of Central Maine! Located on the shores of Big Indian Lake in St. Albans, ME, our home has 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, a large living room, newly remodeled kitchen, and decks. We've just completed tons of upgrades to take advantage of this quite, comfortable spot to enjoy a fantastic view in a great location for fishing, boating, or just relaxing and listening to the loons call.

There are two bedrooms upstairs; one has a queen-sized bed with a brand new deck facing the lake, the other has twin bunk beds with a lake-facing balcony. The third bedroom is downstairs and has a queen-sized bed with a sliding door right out onto the main deck.

If you're interested in fishing, the lake is home to bass, perch, bluegill, and pickerel all catchable from shore or off our dock. There is also a canoe and kayaks available for use if you'd like to get out onto the lake.

The camp is about 45 minutes from Bangor, 1 hour and 45 minutes from Portland, and 2 hours from Bar Harbor.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

About the host

The camp at 27 Sparrow Drive has been in the family since the lot was purchased in 1987. Upon initial inspection of the single-wide trailer that occupied the current location of the camp, my husband, who was 10 years old at the time, declared "this place is a dump!" He wasn't wrong, but in the last 5 years, our family has made an intentional effort to make things SO MUCH better while still retaining the cozy, rustic feel of the place. After a catastrophic flood in January 2022, we embarked on our biggest renovation yet, with a whole new kitchen, dining room, and living room.

Why they chose this property

Our camp has an absolutely amazing view of the western skyline, which makes for spectacular sunset and evenings by the fire. The location is quiet, and secluded, yet only a mile from the general store in St. Albans and 10 miles from the shopping center in Newport, ME. We're an hour and a half from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor, ME.

What makes this property unique

We offer a completely newly remodeled kitchen, with new appliance including a full size gas range and dishwasher, and fridge and microwave. Your rental includes access to a canoe and kayaks with a variety of sized life jackets ranging from infant to size adult XXL.
