The cottage is clean, quiet, private and has easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway, with downtown Asheville within 15 minutes. The hot tub and full size washer and dryer were nice perks!
The property was very clean and quiet. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous and it worked perfectly for me and my family for a little summer road trip. We also enjoyed the fact that it was a quick drive to any of the attractions we ventured out to see during our stay. Very grateful for such a lovely experience.
We stayed for 2 nights while taking in local sights and hikes. We enjoyed the hot tub and comfy beds. The place is very clean and right off the blue ridge parkway, so we were able to see the sun set there. Gorgeous!
Serenity Cottage is a perfect little cottage close to it all. Just a couple minutes from the NC Arboretum and Blue Ridge Parkway and just 13 minutes from the Biltmore and Biltmore Village with shopping, food and more. The accomodations were just as stated, clean and cozy. We enjoyed our stay!
This cottage was perfect. The house has everything you need and the communication with the owners was the best.
Biltmore and Hendersonville were both just minutes away. Easiest vacation ever.
We had a great time staying here. Far enough away to not hear the city all night but close enough that it doesn’t take too long to get there. Very clean and well kept. Hot tub was awesome! Overall awesome place for the price!
Rented this home for a business trip. The hit tub was excellent and made my whole trip. Hosts were great, very friendly and communicated well! Will return to this lil gem.
As advertised..very close to the Blue Ridge By Way and arboretum, easy to get to Biltmore etc. Hot tub was a nice finish to the day. Bed was a bit soft for my hubby but fine for me. Nice to have washer and dryer on site. No issues, no drama!
The garden is charming with a lovely mix of native plants and herbs. Our visit was during a serious heat spell. The A/C unit had a hard time reaching the bedroom. Fortunately there were fans provided. We would have liked better lighting for reading in the LR and BR. As a petite person the kitchen was a challenge. A small folding step stool would have helped. The cottage was worth the price. And we had a lovely time.
Serenity Cottage was perfect for our needs. We wanted a place in a convenient location that had a kitchen and a hot tub and wouldn't break the bank.
Make no mistake - it's small. But we didn't feel cramped. The kitchen is tiny but well-arranged and stocked with basic dishes, utensils, pots, etc. We cooked all our meals while there with no problem. Everything was very clean.
The living room served our needs as well. It houses a small heating unit that heats the whole house when weather is chilly, as it was when we were there in early January. The heater is a bit noisy, and it is recommended to keep the bedroom door open at night to stay warm. We were worried that the noise would bother us during the night, but it didn't.
We both agreed that the bed and pillows were the most comfortable we've had in a VRBO. And the blinds made it dark enough that we slept well.
The hot tub was great for two people. No complaints there. It's private enough, although we'd recommend swimsuits, just in case...
The only hiccup was our initial arrival, which was in a rainstorm at night, after 6-7 hours of driving, the final 3 of which had been in pouring rain and driving wind. Needless to say, we were tired, and our eyes were tired. There was supposed to be a gravel driveway 20 feet beyond a road - but we couldn't see gravel in the dark and the rain, and there were cars parked in the most promising driveway (we're also not good at estimating 20 feet!) Finally we parked, got out and walked with umbrellas, getting soaked in the process, and determined that the one with the cars WAS the correct driveway. There are several houses off that drive, and the cars belonged to another. We appreciated that the owners had sent a picture of the property from the road - but you can't see it in darkness and rain. So our tip is: pull into the driveway immediately beyond the road.
One nice thing about the location is the proximity to many hiking trails. We were there on business, but we hoped to fit in some hikes. The Bent Creek Experimental Forest, Lake Powhatan, and the NC Arboretum are all just a few minutes away. We had a lovely hike from the Rice Pinnacle parking area of the Forest.
All in all, we highly recommend Serenity Cottage.
We had a great stay at the cottage. It was a great location with surrounding hikes and a short 15m drive to downtown. The place was clean, had plenty of towels and necessities. The hot tub was also clean and kept warm. Communication with the host was phenomenal (very responsive to any questions/concerns). Would recommend for a cozy, low-key getaway!
Sweet little cottage on the outskirts of Asheville, close to the Arboretum and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Easy access to a variety of activities in the area. The hosts were delightful to work with and quick to respond to any questions.
We loved Serenity Cottage! It had everything we needed for our 4 day stay. We loved the hot tub in the evening and the back is wonderfully private for that or just sitting out for morning coffee. Would definitely stay again.
My husband and I had the best time staying here celebrating on our honeymoon. The owners went above and beyond to make our trip special. House was really clean and cozy. The hot tub was so relaxing and one of the best parts of our visit to Asheville. We now want to get a hot tub. I definitely recommend staying here!
This place is exactly as described. It’s clean and private. We loved sitting in the hot tub every night. Also the location has great access to main roads to head downtown. All in all we will be staying at Serenity Cottage the next time we find ourselves in Asheville.
Very nice little cabin. If driving a big pickup or SUV parking could be an issue. Very close to Blue Ridge Parkway and part of Pisgah National Forest. Biltmore is an easy drive. Cabin could use a pitcher in the kitchen.
This small house is just the right size for a few travelers. It was sparkling clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. Not many places have a hot tub, so this - plus the beautiful backyard - was a bonus. We were able to visit downtown Asheville and the Biltmore Estate in a short, easy drive. We highly recommend this gem!
My husband and I decided to do a mini-moon to Asheville. We had never been, and I’m so glad we chose this wonderful city. We visited so many breweries, a winery, hiked, ate such great food, and relaxed in the hot tub on the property. This cottage was in a terrific location. The price was perfect, and we were able to take Ubers when needed. Book now!
Nicely set up cottage. Quiet neighborhood. Enjoyed the hot tub.

Hi! We’re Jodi and Dan! We both grew up in southern Indiana and have been exploring national parks since college! We lived in Yellowstone NP for 4 summers and were able to explore many other national parks in our travels to and from Yellowstone. Some of our favorite parks include: Zion, Redwoods, Yosemite, and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We chose to move to Asheville for its extensive hiking and outdoor opportunities, amazing food and music scene, and cultural life (and proximity to our family). We hope you enjoy Asheville as much as we do!
