Your property
Pleasure Island (Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) has become a RAPIDLY increasing vacation (and full-time!) destination for the East coast and beyond for many reasons. It’s a family-oriented beach with a touch of everything one might be looking for! It’s an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!
The suite is in the heart of Carolina Beach and walking distance to downtown and everything that is has to offer. In Carolina Beach you’ve got the boardwalk, restaurants, and local shops of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or party boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing? Bring the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island. You can also head down to Kure Beach and fish directly off their fishing pier complete with bait, tackles, and more! The Carolina Beach Lake is nearby, hosting a weekly Farmer’s Market every Saturday and FIREWORKS every Thursday. We welcome you to sit back, relax and enjoy yourselves because that's exactly what the beach is for!
This suite is a mixture of the original “period” construction and old-world charm, a kiss of shabby-chic modernity, and today’s technology because hey, there’s got to be something for everyone! Each suite has its own distinct traits, quirks, and characteristics. Above all else, it should feel like your “home away from home” while vacationing with us on our Island!
The entry to this 1 bedroom, 1 bath suite opens into a newly furnished family room combined with an open dining area and fully equipped kitchen (stove oven, refrigerator). The kitchen is stocked will all the basic cooking and dining utensils one can expect (plates, bowls, cups, silverware, etc.). In addition, there is a microwave, toaster, coffer maker and blender ready to help make yourself at home (while on Vacay!).
1 courtesy soap, shampoo and conditioner are left in the bathroom of each home as well as 2 rolls of TP per bath, 1 makeup wipe and one backup toothbrush. 1 roll of paper towel, a sponge, dish soap, 2 trash bags per receptacle and (*as applicable) 3 dishwasher and laundry pods will be available to use if needed!
The unit's ONE QUEEN bed and ONE FULL pullout consists of either a plush luxury mattress or a new encased 8” memory foam/cooling gel composition mattress because we want all of our guests to be comfortable when it comes time to recharge. The ONE FULL futon bed is a standard futon couch with an 8” futon mattress.
1 set of the following will be made on a per bed/per person basis to help you be comfortable on your adventure! Bed sheets (fitted/flat set), bath towels, wash cloths, cleaning rags, pillowcases, bathmats and kitchen towels. Laundering or extra sets are not an available service regrettably. Please make sure all used linens are placed in one location in the home at departure. Please let all BED LINENS remain on the beds for our TEAM to take care of! There is one smart TV in each suite to utilize one's personal subscriptions (such as Netflix or Hulu) along with a WIFI computer connection for when it's time to sit back and enjoy some movies or shows after a long day at the beach!
The outdoor shower is located on the lower left of the building to help get that sand off of those toes!
Guest access
The SUITE: Guests have full access to their own private SUITE (never shared) along with a portion of a respective deck, patio, or balcony.
PARKING: Each reservation will have access to (1) ONE 8'x14' assigned parking space. Suites 1-3 park up front next to the road while 4-6 park in the rear of the building. DO NOT double park if looking to avoid a tow. Guests driving "oversized vehicles" (from SUVs to pickups) may have issues fitting comfortably.
•Closest BEACH access: Scallop Public Beach Access (Scallop Lane).

I will be available for check-in and general assistance until 8PM EST. Anything with the exception of an emergency (ie. flood, fire, or another *safety* related risk sent to Maintenance) will be responded to ASAP the following day :)
Neighborhood description
Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern North Carolina, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island.
The building itself is one row away from the ocean, and two rows in from the Intracoastal Waterway. The property is set four blocks from downtown Carolina Beach with its shops, activities, and dining.
Carolina Beach is a mix of friendly locals, snowbirds, and vacationers all looking to escape the inland and enjoy the sand, surf, and sun. We truly have an amazing community! Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesn’t even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more relaxing and less “adventure” is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!
Getting around
There isn’t anywhere or anything on our Island that isn’t accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has several vendors such as Tony Silvagni’s Surf School @ 308 S Lake Park Blvd, Carolina Beach, NC 28428 (bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks, chairs, and umbrellas) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. There's Sun Fun Rentals @1204 N Lake Park Blvd Unit F Carolina Beach, NC 28428. Taxi’s (local golf cart taxi’s) and Uber’s are also generally available for an assist when needed as well throughout the island! You can catch a Ferry to Southport in Kure Beach @ 2422 Fort Fisher Blvd S Kure Beach which leads to another ferry to Bald Head Island where NO CARS are allowed at all!
After all, you won’t catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here!

•The Town of Carolina Beach offers multiple public parking options to visitors and residents on a FIRST COME-FIRST SERVE basis. Town-operated parking is open year round and paid parking is enforced March 1st - October 31st from 9AM - 8PM. Parking fees restart each morning during enforcement hours for all of the Town's parking lots and on-street parking spaces.
•PARKING RATES: *(Parking rates are approved annually and are subject to change) March 1st - October 31st, 9AM - 8PM Parking Lots $ 6/hour or $25/day Premium Parking Lots $ 7/hour or $35/day Bus, Limo, and oversized vehicle $10/hour or $40/day On-Street Parking: Without Time Restrictions $ 5/hour With Time Restrictions $ 5/hour Weekly Parking Permits $100 Available for purchase at Town Hall, the Parking Office (open 7 days a week) and online.
GOLF CARTS
•To the county, golf carts are considered automobiles. Generally speaking, golf carts are NOT allowed on premises of ANY condo, condotel, or apartment. The same goes for trailers, motorcycles, etc. For SFR’s or properties supporting multiple vehicles, carts should be OK. However, be conscious that few homes have external outlets WITHOUT GFCI’S (which are code by today’s standards). Charging a cart on a GFCI will immediately trip the breaker, resulting in the inability to charge a cart amongst other repercussions. Gas carts will generally be the ideal rental option if in a home whose parking supports such.
•ALL suites are non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways. Please smoke well away from any SWRE property unless willing to risk the potential loss of deposit or more.
•NO BBQing on ANY decks or porches. This is a huge fire hazard and is fineable by the town (as is removing batteries from any smoke or co2 alarms). We work extremely hard to keep all our guests safe, and sometimes that takes teamwork!
•Please always consider TRAVEL INSURANCE from your respective booking site or vendor to help protect your costs in case of inclement weather or last-minute travel complications (court, illness, etc.). These items are NOT refundable scenarios unless the property itself is compromised.

It was a wonderful stay as a family of four! Cute little apartment, great parking, clean and cozy. It’s only a two minute walk to the beach, which was very family friendly. Short walk to the super fun boardwalk and all different kinds of restaurants! I’d definitely book this place again.

My friends and I had a great stay at this property. The beach was super close and all restaurants/shops were a 5-10 minute walk as well! The location was great and the property itself was wonderful and just as described.

We really enjoyed staying at this property. It is right across the street from a public beach access and a short walk to the boardwalk area. The suite had everything we needed and was very clean. We cannot wait to return to Carolina Beach and stay here!

We really enjoyed this place. The bed and the couch were both very comfortable for sleeping. The place comes with all the basic dishes, pots, pans, etc for cooking and a boatload of wine bottle openers :-) We'd happily stay here again.

We have rented for the last few years here and stayed in three different suites all of which are nice. It is directly across from beach access and very convenient. We always enjoy our stay and Dale is always quick to respond when we reach out to him and always very friendly and helpful.

Great location, tons of things to do, came as advertised. Furniture needs replacing, the bare sandy floors desperately needs throw rugs. Plenty of room though and worth the cost.
This unit was very clean and well maintained. We had very noisy neighbors but that's not your fault.

The real estate agent, Dave, responded to any questions and concerns quickly. The location was great, you couldn't ask for a better location! Overall IIP was great I just have one suggestion and that is to put a tv in the bedroom.

Property was super close to the beach which made it so easy with kids. The floors were really dirty and sand was everywhere. Sand to be expected at the beach but I felt like it could have been cleaner.

We stand by the integrity of your home and comfort but cannot assist UNLESS contacted. An email or voicemail is optimal. If something requires a MAINTENANCE or technician visit, please reach out directly to the email maintenance@XYZ with your complete property address, issue, helpful details/photos, and the best contact method and they respond within 24 hours to assist! In the case of an EMERGENCY (HVAC outage during a hot day/active water leak, etc.), please call 910.XXX XXXX. " In the future, before leaving a negative review, definitely consider following respective house rules and allow an owner to assist if an issue does exist. It's why we have them :)
The most impressive thing about our stay, was the communication with and attentiveness of the Property Manager Dale.
He bent over backwards to see that we were accomodated and happy, which we were. We had to delay our trip for well over a year due to my wife’s illness, and Dale saw to it that we were able to push our reservation without hiccups. It was a great location, a good price, and we will most definitely stay again.

We enjoyed our time. Apartment was very clean, well appointed and in a great location. I wouldn't recommend the pull-out bed for more than one adult. If you are annoyed by being able to hear the upstairs neighbors walking and moving the kitchen chairs, don't stay downstairs.

Hi Frances. As with any multi-unit property from a motel and hotel, to a 6-plex or condo, ambient noise from another guest should be considered normal dependent on that guest. That has ZERO to do with the property itself. Also, the bed was advertised as a full size well in advance. If guests require a larger size additional/secondary bed, my hopes are that a suite with two queens might be selected with proper research. All in all it sounds like there were no actual issues with the stay as it pertains to the home or property and it delivered exactly as advertised which is great!
We really enjoyed our stay. Short walk to the beach. Perfect for little ones in case you need to go back and forth. (2 year old and a 3 month old) Lots of choices within walking distance for food and coffee. I’d recommend a stroller for little ones if you’re walking too far from the suite. Room description was accurate and looked just like the pictures. Quiet location and everyone around was so kind. Easy to check in and check out. Dale was very helpful. We’ll definitely book with you all again in the future.

Great place to stay for a small family. Would recommend more updated kitchen items. Pots, pans, silverware especially. Bed slept well, shower was better than most. The one thing that I wish it had was a storm door so you could open the front door and see out. Felt extremely dark and gloomy when it was raining. Other than those few things I’ve mentioned I would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone. The beach access was across the street. A couple minutes and you were on the beach,

We were extremely satisfied with our stay. Dale was great to work with. We arrived a bit early and when we asked if we could go in early he responded within minutes, granting us access… you just do not get that type of response time/customer service typically. He was a step above the rest, truly great. The unit was perfect for my boyfriend and I’s stay. We accessed the beach using the beach access point which was just to the left of the of unit. We found the buildings outside shower on our last day…it is on the back side, up from the trash cans! We left the next guests an extra beach amenity in the unit. An umbrella, umbrella table and umbrella anchor, I hope they are enjoyed by many beach goers to come! Highly recommend, can’t wait to come back!
