Not great

The only pros to this cottage was the view and decor. Cons: bed is squeaky with every move made, dust bunnies and cobwebs everywhere, pullout couch had hairs and crumbs in it, we washed our own sheets then the washing machine broke. Not a great experience.

It seeems the owners of this home care more about decorating and making this tiny home appear "cute" rather than clean and fully functioning. Dust bunnies, hair and crumbs in the pull-out couch and under the chairs, tables etc. We washed our own sheets because it did not appear the sheets were clean. Visible cobwebs and dust on surfaces. The fire pit does not work because the propane hole is full of dirt. The TV is non functioning. The indoor fireplace was impossible to figure out how to work. The bed is TERRIBLY squeaky with any slight movement. You can't take longer than a 5 minute shower before the hot water runs out. The only pros with this tiny home were great view of the mountains and functioning coffee maker, stove/oven and refrigerator. Too bad, because this place could be really great if someone put the effort into keeping up with it and fixing the amenities they offer online.

Cub Cottage stay

The Cub Cottage was lovely. The sunroom was our favorite! It was very bright and decorated so nice. The staff I interacted with on the phone were very nice, extremely helpful. We would stay there again!

Cub Cottage with Fantastic View

The view of Pike's Peak was fantastic - this tiny home was furnished with everything we needed - loved cooking on the gas stove - the weather could not have been better with cool nights & pleasant days. It was so cool, we even turned the furnace on for a little bit in the mornings. Would definitely stay there again.

Great Place

This was a great place to stay. The only issues we had was we couldn’t get the TV to work properly. Parking was tight when the other homes were rented. The location was great and the community was very quiet and friendly. The neighbor was very polite and great to talk to. The hide a bed was extremely uncomfortable and dirt and needs to be replaced. Other than that I would definitely stay there again.

Cute house!

This property was cute. There were a couple of personal dislikes. First the bed squeaks horribly. Every time you get in and out, roll over etc. Thank goodness I remembered my ear plugs for both myself and my husband or we would not have had any sleep. The shower does not drain so by the end you are standing in dirty soapy water. Otherwise it was everything we needed for our stay.

Disappointed

The little house could use a good cleaning. The TV did not work. It was hard to find. We will not stay there again. Would not recommend.

Cub cottage

It was very nice one bedroom one bath. We were so happy to see a washer and dryer full kitchen. We work in construction so staying at a nice play while our rv was being repaired was much needed. It was clean and spacious for two ppl.

Glorious view of Pike’s Peak!

The main selling point for me as to renting the cub cottage was the view from the sunroom. Very spectacular look at Pike’s Peak!

Great spot with amazing view but could use a few upgrades

Great spot just could use new beds and an on demand hot water tank. 5 min shower after tossing and turning all night on one of the most uncomfortable beds I've had to sleep in was a little bit of a bummer. Luckily the view makes up for it somewhat

Needs Attention

Beautiful location but needs attention. Bed was awful, which has been mentioned in past reviews. Shower doesn’t drain well so you have to shower fast. Floor in kitchen is a trip hazard and needs repair. I hope the owner reads this review.

Ok place

While the cottage itself was nice, the shower and eating utensils were dirty, the bath rug tattered and dirty, and tub drained very slowly. The floor laminate was peeling and coming up in many places. The photo of the cabin was deceptive, because although the mountains are clearly in view, the cottage sits very close to many others and within a 100 feet or so from a major highway so it was a bit noisy. If the cabin was cleaned well and had a little TLC it would be much better. On a positive, the location to trails, stores and restaurants was great.

Cub Cottage review

Very nice set up for 2 people, well stocked with supplies and cooking utensils. Appliances all worked great. Plenty of room in refrigerator/freezer for lots of food. Ceiling fans in each room are a great help in keeping the rooms cool in the summer. Unit was very clean on our arrival. Great close location to mountain hikes and shopping. Parking is a bit tight when other units are occupied, but doable. All roads are paved and it's easy to get in and out of complex. Shower doesn't not drain well. Couch and bed are very soft. Road noise from 24 is noticeable with windows open. Fire alarm very sensitive, make sure to have microwave fan on when cooking on the stove top.

Cub Cottage Stay in Woodland Park

The cottage has its own charm and vista above the valley , overlooking Pikes Peak. The kitchen and bathroom were adequate and well provided, including a washing machine and dryer. However, there were a few problems: the instructions provided by Va Casa as how to enter the property did not match the experience we had. The lock key system on the porch post was not the same as the lock key box on the front door frame. Repeated attempts to enter the code successfully only worked at the second lock key box at the door frame. Upon entering, the internal door curtain fell down and was not stable with a rod that was bent. Once settling within, the main bed was found to be very uncomfortable indeed and the dust beneath had not been cleared. The need for a comfortable sleep necessitated putting a mat down on the sun room floor to achieve sufficient comfort, alas. The cutlery drawer in the kitchen needed more cleaning, though there were sufficient cutlery items for guest needs. There were sweet touches in the bathroom, and the hot water and pressure in the shower were good. The biggest disappointment was that the parking out front was restricted by the second spot having been rented out to the next door neighbor, thereby disabling our great grandchildren entering the cub cottage to see where we were staying.. We would recommend replacing the main bed in the only bedroom, freeing up the parking, and replacing the entry rod and curtain. Thank you.
