Our goal is to make you feel like our guest, not a renter.
She Creek Cabin sits on 5 acres of secluded land bordered by 47,000+ acres of Forest Service land. Make no mistake. You will be vacationing in the woods, only with comfort and amenities (and easy access). More than 800-feet of private creek, with a swing and a swing set on the banks, makes for a cooling and fun place to play. She Creek Cabin is less than 10 minutes from the Wild and Scenic Chattooga River. It is less than 20 minutes from Tallulah Gorge State Park. We are also close to Black Rock Mountain State Park, The Foxfire Heritage Center, Moccasin Creek State Park and the popular Andy's Trout Farm to name just a few. Downtown Clayton offers some of the best restaurants and shops in Northeast Georgia.
Your home away from home. Made entirely of wood culled from the property, the cabin was built with mountain relaxation in mind. A screened in porch gives you a great dining experience. The other 200-feet of wrap around porch has a spectacular view, and of course, the humming birds. The layout of this cabin is ideal for both a small or large groups.
There are fruit trees on the property. Blueberry bushes along with peach and apple trees will give you some tasty treats when in season. Wild blackberries are a personal favorite.
The cabin has been furnished with many amenities. It has a high-efficiency washer and dryer and high-definition, smart televisions. For a nice, quiet evening, enjoy some of the board games or jigsaw puzzles. Because cell service in the mountains can be sketchy at best, we have included free long distance calling from the land line. You can also get a pretty good connection using the wi-fi. Our kitchen is fully loaded with everything you'll need from a coffee maker to a crock pot.
If hiking is what you're coming to the mountains for, we have a variety of books and maps that will show you how to find nearby waterfalls and hiking trails.
White water rafting!! She Creek Cabin is located just three miles from whitewater rafting on the Wild & Scenic Chattooga River, where the movie 'Deliverance' was filmed. We are also just three miles from Kingwood golf resort. Less than an hour's ride from Alpine Village in Helen, Ga and a hop, skip and a jump away from Tallulah Gorge. Not to brag, but we are the perfect location for your next vacation.

Our family loved everything about Barbara’s house. We all (including the dogs) enjoyed playing in the creek. The back porch is perfect for family fellowship We are looking returning.
We have been to quite a few cabins over the years. This is one of our favorites. We really enjoyed the firepit. Very quiet neighborhood with amazing views. It is close to a few state parks. We only had time visiting two of them (Tallulah gorge state park and black mountain state park) and these two parks are amazing. Barbara is a wonderful host. Thanks for your late night delivery of a few items, Barbara.
The cabin itself was great. The owner was very quick to answer when we had two problems come up during stay. Only thing was i thought it was more on the creek than it was. Just plan ahead you do have to go on a little walk to get down to creek and use strais to get into the water. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
We had a wonderful time celebrating my dad's birthday and Thanksgiving here. Loved waking up and sitting on the upstairs screened porch and taking in the beautiful view and fresh air. Cabin was perfect, lots of room, stocked kitchen and extra linens, peaceful creek, great firepit. Highly recommend!
My stay at She Creek Cabin was just the seclusion we were looking for without being too far from everything we needed. A short drive through a winding road (a portion unpaved but completely accessible) gets you to this cozy cabin. It was just the right size for 3 adults, 2 teenagers, a toddler, and a dog. We loved the fire pit which had plenty of firewood for multiple night of s’mores, and the creek found at the bottom of the trail from the back yard. My dog had a great time splashing around in the creek. Ingles supermarket and downtown Clayton were a short drive away. The property is quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. There’s plenty of trails and waterfalls that kept us busy every day. I can’t say enough about how much the property manager’s responsiveness was appreciated!! We had a wonderful time and hope to return.
Thank you!
Stayed at this property for a weekend while hiking Black Rock Mountain. The property is nice. It is a bit confusing trying to get to it as it is on a larger property with multiple homes and the directions are not clear as to where to go. The place itself is as described. We had our dogs with us and there was a great back yard for them to explore and lots of room in the house. There is a nice spacious balcony area with room to eat which is a great hangout but currently their are multiple wasp nests there so you have to be cautious.
We cooked our meals at the property and had all the necessary equipment which was great. The dishwasher kept getting stuck which was a pain by the end of the stay but other than that the rest of the appliances worked well. The beds are comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Overall, I would recommend this place and would consider staying here again in the future.

Alexandra,
Thanks for letting me know about those wasp nests. I've already taken care of them. Living in the woods...it can be a competition.
This property was perfectly secluded. The creek and swing sets were the favorite for our kiddos. The location to town is just right. We have been to the area several times but this was definitely a favorite!!!! I would love to come back in summer time for sure!
My husband and I stayed at Barbara’s place during our wedding weekend with our 2 dogs, and it was absolutely perfect. The place was very clean, beds were comfortable, and the views were beautiful! We enjoyed spending nights on the back porch, and walking down to the stream with our dogs. I would highly recommend her place to anyone looking for a cozy mountain escape! We hope to return again soon :)
Place was great. Needs a few minor updates. Could use better signs (bigger signs) to aid in finding the cabin. We had a great time and the fall colors were beautiful!!!
We were in the area to go rafting on the Chattooga river. This house is about 15 minutes from the outpost and not too far from downtown Clayton GA.
The house waa clean, had an amazing deck off the back of the house with an awesome view.
We had everything we needed.
Would stay here again.
This wonderful cabin by the creek has a two big yards to play in. Blueberries, blackberries, peaches, adult and child swings! Two fire pits! The beds and pillows are extremely comfortable and the cabin has all the amenities! Extremely clean! We throughly enjoyed our 10 days here making memories and enjoying the area! We highly recommend this cabin and look forward to returning! She Creek Cabin has our 5 star review! Thanks for the great vacation!
This cabin has everything you need. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the downstairs living room great to gather. The kitchen was well appointed with everything you might need. The neighborhood can be a bit intimidating as you drive in. We spent xmas here and for our good deed picked up trash all along the dirt road leading to the house. We picked up six bags of trash! It's a rural neighborhood with some junk cars, etc. But once you get to the house it's very worth it and peaceful!
Just stayed 2 nights but it was a good experience. Definitely off the beaten path and soooo quiet! The downstairs great room was ideal for catching the Georgia Bulldogs AND Atlanta Braves games while enjoying the sunset. During the day we visited a couple of the local wineries (Stonewall Creek Vineyards and 12 Spies Vineyards) which were quite a treat!
The property description needs to be updated since the screens have been removed from the back porch. It was still quite comfortable and roomy, however. Also, be aware the last 100 yards or so of the road are narrow and may be a little challenging for very large or very low vehicles and VERY challenging for bagger or cruiser motorcycles especially if lowered.
All things considered, She Creek Cabin is a great getaway!
First off, Barbara was super helpful and great to work with. The place was great and there were no surprises. Had everything we needed and felt very comfortable. Big wins for us were the location and the creek. The location felt extremely secluded but close enough to the grocery store, restaurants, and shops. The only sound we heard was the creek. Also, super close to lots of hiking. The creek was Rosie's (the dog) favorite part for sure. Watching her joyfully splash around were some of the best moments. Definitely recommend, especially if you're bringing your pup.
Very convenient location. About a 15 minutes drive to downtown Clayton. Barbara is an excellent host and the home is very clean! Love to watch the hummingbirds! The view is amazing and peaceful. We will definitely return for a 3rd visit too!!
We had a grand time at the cabin. So peaceful and comfortable. Loved the hummingbird show everyday. Beds were soft and comfy. Just about everything you could need in kitchen. Plenty of TVs for everyone to watch what they want.
Clayton has changed a lot in 25 years since we were last here. Not a sleepy little town any longer. Lots of restaurants and attractions.
This cabin has a great layout and very comfortable beds! The stream in the back is an added bonus. Barbara is a thoughtful hostess who was kind enough to check in to see how are stay was going. It was definitely a relaxing getaway.
The Westbrook's are a family of whitewater rafters and nature enthusiasts. This photo was taken during one of our yearly family reunions hosted at our cabin in the mountains.
Why they chose this property
We actually bought this cabin in order to halt development on the cabin's five acres of land.
What makes this property unique
During our family reunion we will have 50 or more people show up at the cabin for cookouts and fun around the fire. We spend the week rafting on Sections III and IV of the Chattooga River and we funyak and swim on the easier sections of the river. We also spend a lot of time hiking, shopping in the nearby antique villages and towns, and some days we simply play at the cabin having fun in the creek.
