Wonderful stay!

We had a great stay in Bowness. The property was so well set up and stocked. For our family of six, we had plenty of room and the home is beautiful. Tracy was great to deal with and communication was top notch.

Wonderful Windermere

Just a perfect stay in a lovely cottage, roomy, clean & excellent location with free parking. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the cottage, from walking to local restaurants & bars to relaxing to Netflix movie night in the cottage. Thank you Windermere we will be back.

Great location, and great cottage

We loved staying here. It was a perfect location for wandering down to restaurants and the waterfront. The rooms were lovely and comfortable, especially the loft room. The kitchen had all we needed. There was plenty of information at the cottage of activities and walks we could do.

Lovely Break

Had a great stay in a lovely cottage. Absolutely no issues or problems. Everything you could need is in the cottage and everything works as it should. Just what you hoped in a holiday rental.

Great Short Break

Great, well presented and maintained lakeland home from home, fully equipped with everything you could need for your holiday or short break. Ideally located to access Lake Windermere, Bowness-on-Windermere village and the surrounding area without having to use your car. A good selection of shops, bars, pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes within easy walking distance.

Great little townhouse

We were a party of 5 and there was plenty of space for all of us. It’s in the perfect location with plenty of shops, pubs, restaurants and Lake Windermere just around the corner. Extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need. We really enjoyed our stay here and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Overall a very good location and clean and tidy cottage. Parking is a nightmare as although you have permit , parking is not guaranteed

Thank you for your review. Yes we do provide a permit and parking can be challenging at busy times but there are 3 streets where the permit is valid and we also advise guests of alternative local parking too.

Central yet quiet property - just minutes from pubs and restaurants

We stayed for 1 week with our 3 children and had found this to be a perfect base for exploring the area. The property has been thoughtfully extended and is well presented throughout. There are many good pubs and restaurants in Bowness-on-Windermere to choose from and only a few minutes walk from the house. Would definitely recommend.

Fabulous location

Cottage was so lovely, clean and comfortable. Close to town centre with bus stop at end of road if you wanted to travel further. Every possible utensil and device was in situ. Would definitely return.

Bowness Bliss

Great little apartment for a family or three couples. Close to ferries and drive/bus to whatever walks take your fancy! Plenty of restaurants/bars within a short walk and a great supermarket less than 100m from the front door. The kitchen is fully equipped to cook up a storm if you prefer to eat in and relax infront of the large TV. Hope to return again to visit

Fantastic in every way!

Our family of 4 stayed here and loved every minute--fantastic walkable location, peaceful and quiet, spacious, with a well-appointed kitchen. No funky smells. We enjoyed using the wood stove in the main room. Soft sheets. We'd love to return!

Beautiful Ellefred Cottage.

Can definitly recommend this beautiful little cottage in the lovely little village of Bowness. Decorated to a very high standard with the comfiest of beds. Within a couple of minutes walk from Lake Windermere. Lots to go and see and do in the area, boating, waterfalls, lovely walks, plenty of nice restaurants and pubs. The owner was very helpful and friendly over email with us prior to booking, and gave us all the details to get straight there.

Wow what a fantastic cottage, such a high standard, everything was perfect there's nothing that hasn't been thought of. Spacious room, high quality linen, towels etc. Great position close to the village. Would definitely recommend and will definitely book again. Thank you for such a lovely time.

Lovely little cottage

Fantastic location, everything is right on the doorstep. Perfect for strolling out to eat on an evening. Finished to a high spec with great linen, towels, pans etc Only flaws were one bathroom not great for 6 people There is no outside space which the kids missed a bit If you break anything be prepared for a hefty price tag, £30 for a water jug?!

Thank you very much for taking the time to review your stay at Ellefred Cottage and glad you found the location to be so handy. We note your feedback regarding the layout of the cottage, however we do clearly state there is one bathroom and that there is a decked area in the rear yard at the cottage. For future reference there are also two park/play areas less than 5 minutes walk from the cottage. In order to maintain the high standards at the cottage, when breakages do occur we look to replace like for like and as you mentioned, the cottage and its contents are finished to a high spec and as all kitchen items are Denby then replacement would be the same. You are also aware that no deduction is made from customers security deposit without being advised of charges firstly.

Beautiful cottage in a great location

We spent 7 wonderful nights at Ellefred Cottage. It truly felt like a home away from home. The bedrooms were very spacious and had extremely comfortable beds. Lots of space throughout, including a huge kitchen with everything you could possibly need. A fantastic bathroom with a great shower and double sinks. We loved spending the evenings in the cozy lounge watching TV. Everything is practically at your doorstep. Very good Italian and Indian restaurants just down the street. And a short walk to all the shops. The lake is a quick 10 min walk. We would highly recommend the cottage and can't wait to visit again!
