About this property
Amazing views, 4 KING BEDs, Pets OK, Ultra-Fast Wi-Fi, Firepit, Covered Deck
We are so excited to list our freshly remodeled craftsman house that features 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths and can accommodate up to 11 guests. 8 adults on FOUR (4) king size beds and 3 kids (toddlers to teens) on a bunk bed with trundle. Our bed count are real beds with real mattresses, not fold out couch or air mattress nonsense.
All of the bedrooms have direct bathroom access and a large flat screen smart HD TV with YouTube TV (70+ channels) and streaming and STARLINK internet Wi-Fi (network speeds up to 200 Mbps).
Perfect for the extended family or couples get-away retreat, with bedrooms and bathrooms on several floors. Long range mountain and valley views that the pictures simply cannot do justice.
Plenty of seating in the family room that offers a fireplace, 2 large couches and 2 leather recliner chairs with ottomans. You can sit and enjoy the mountain views thru wall length, picture windows. There is a small reading nook on the upper landing with a nice recliner chair and extra lighting.
The remodeled kitchen features new cabinets, lighting, and granite counter tops. Dining table with seating and service for 10.
We have a large wrap-around covered deck that features a secure gate to keep the little ones (and the dogs) safe. There is covered car port parking that is a step from the house. Outdoor firepit (firewood not provided - bagged firewood can be bought at most of the local grocery stores) with picnic table and play area.
Minutes to downtown Franklin (~7 miles) with paved road access up to the house. Shopping is a quick 10 minutes away (Walmart, Ingles, Food Lion, Dollar Tree, several local restaurants and more).
See the amenities tab for more details of what we offer our guests.
Pets (dogs) are welcome. We charge a non-refundable $50 pet fee for first dog and $25 for each additional dog (3 dogs max).
The road up to the house is pretty normal for the locals, but it can seem a little bit steep for others. But no worries, the road is paved all the way to the house and any 2-wheel drive car or truck can navigate it. Just go the speed limit and you will be fine.
Looking for a more active get-away? Then don’t forget your hiking boots or golf clubs, there are two public golf courses that are less than 20 minutes away. Franklin/Macon County has 16 local waterfalls, world renown gem mining, with numerous biking and hiking trails including the Appalachian Trail and Bartram Trail along with many other trails.
Take into account these 5 items when looking for your vacation stay.
1. It should have a view. You’re in the mountains, you want to see mountains. Our house has unblocked long range views. More than one guest has called it "The Million Dollar View."
2. You should be close to town and shopping. Our place is less than 15 minutes to major shopping areas. Don't spend vacation time on a 45-minute (one-way) ride to the grocery store or town.
3. Look for homes on a paved road. There are some beautiful places that are hard to get to due to bad, hard to navigate, dirt roads. Look for paved roads and not rocky, muddy, ruts. Any 2-wheel drive vehicle can get to our place on a smooth paved road.
4. Real Beds. Big Beds. Beware of those offering blow up air mattresses, fold out couch beds, cots, 2 adults in a double bed (or even a queen), or other nonsense in their sleep count. Our house has FOUR (4) KING sized beds for the adults and a bunk bed and trundle (with real mattresses) for the kids. We sleep an honest 8 adults and 3 kids/teens in real beds.
5. This seems minor, but this is important - The deck faces East/Southeast. You sit in shade on the deck in the afternoon facing away from the setting sun. West facing decks get brutalized by the afternoon sun. You'll understand once you sit out in the cool shade during the afternoon enjoying happy hour.
We truly believe that you will enjoy our house as it is family friendly, ultra-comfortable, clean and cozy with jaw-dropping views. Please be our guest.
I recently came across an article on what you should ask the owner of the property you are looking to rent. So, I thought why not answer the questions ahead of time about our house?
Q. How strong is the Wifi?
A. Very strong. We have Starlink satellite internet. Speeds can reach up to plus 200 Mbps.
Q. Do you have a “smart” TV at the house?
A. We have five (5) smart TVs. Each bedroom has a smart TV of 40 inches or larger and the family room has a large (I think 58 or 60”) smart TV that uses Roku Ultra.
Q. What’s in the kitchen?
A. Full set of pots/pans, service for 12, full size range, Microwave, countertop convection oven, Bosch dishwasher, Fridge with Ice Maker. Disposal. Plenty of cups, glasses, wine glasses. 12 Cup Drip Mr. Coffee pot and single cup Keurig. Lots of seasonings and spices. Waffle maker. Toaster. Crockpot. Cooking utensils and more.
Q. Is early check-in OR late check-out allowed?
A. We can usually accommodate those, but I always need to talk to my cleaning person first. Just ask me a few days before.
Q. Is the house accessed by a Keypad or physical keys?
A. We have a lockbox with a key (I’ll send you the code before your arrival). Then there are several keys hanging on the key rack just inside the front door. The key chains also have Ingles Grocery Customer Discount cards attached so you can get the BOGO sales!
Q. What basics are provided?
A. We try to provide most everything. Bath towels, washcloths, hand towels. Hand soap, body wash, shampoo. Hair dryer in each bathroom. Laundry detergent. Dishwashing tabs. Dish soap. Scrubbing dish sponge. Toilet paper. Paper towels. Broom, vacuum. Spray cleaner. Beach towels.
Q. Is there outside seating?
A. Comfortable seating on the covered deck. Adirondack chairs around the firepit. Picnic table by the firepit.
Q. Anything else?
A. Large capacity washer and dryer (with detergent and dryer sheets). Propane Grill. Firepit. Gas fireplace (seasonal). Covered parking. Upper and lower parking area. Folding card table with chairs. Port-a-crib. Highchair. Booster seat. Pet Friendly (with dog food bowls and large pet bed).

About the host
Hosted by Joe & Becky Cooper

We are Joe & Becky, parents of 3 and grandparents of 3 little girls. 1 rescue dog (Daisy) and a rescue cat (Annie). We both recently retired and moved from Florida to Middle Tennessee. We now call Murfreesboro, TN home, but we have been coming to Franklin as a couple since 1975 (mid 1960's for Becky). We've been best friends (dating and married) for more than 40 years.
Why they chose this property
We were searching for a place and we had three (3) major desires that were must haves.
1. It had to have a view. You’re in the mountains, you want to see mountains. Unblocked long range views.
2. It had to be close to town and shopping. Our house is less than 15 minutes to major shopping areas. We didn’t want our guests to spend vacation time on a 45-minute (one-way) ride to the grocery store or town.
3. The roads had to be paved. There are some beautiful places that are hard to get to due to bad, hard to navigate, roads. We wanted paved roads and not rocky, muddy, ruts. Any 2 wheel drive vehicle can get to our place on a smooth paved road.
We found this hidden gem and it was in some major need of TLC. BUT it hit the check boxes of our wishes. A jaw-dropping view. A quick 10-12 minutes to shopping (and just a few more minutes to town). Plus, a paved road all the way to the house.
So, we started working. We have poured a ton of sweat equity and hired local help to bring it up to shape. New furniture, new beds, new kitchen, new roof, new ceilings in rooms, new decking, new deck posts, paint and more paint. Air conditioning (there was none) and heating. We hauled a utility trailer full of dark, tired (and heavy) drapes and faded/yellowed window coverings to the dump. Stripped off walls of old wall paper. More trips to the dump with trailers full of more old stuff.
The once hidden gem now shines like the diamond it was meant to be. And boy-oh-boy, that Million Dollar view.
