The dryer wasn’t working properly for our entire stay, which was unfortunate because we couldn’t dry any of the towels. One thing that really bothered us, which triggered me to write this review…..The owners have nice beach chairs under the master bed that are locked. Yet, they provide their renters HORRIBLE, rusted, uncomfortable cheap chairs. The straps were broken, couldn’t even carry them over our shoulders. I complained, the owner offered to rent beach chairs (for 1 day mind you). It rubbed us the wrong way, so I felt compelled to warn other potential renters about this. Stay elsewhere if you can! We’ve had way better hosts at other VBRO’s we’ve stayed at.

We apologize again for the dryer not working and brought extra towels so you didn’t have to dry towels and had clean fresh ones. We could not get Lowe’s repair man out there before you left but we felt that we accomadated you with more towels. As far as the beach chairs. We offered to prove and did rent chairs for you during your stay. As I mentioned our beach chairs get left at the beach or trashed all season long. We replace chairs monthly and as soon as you mentioned the chairs I immediately called and rented chairs for your family. I am sorry they these two issues made you feel that you needed to write this review and advise others to not stay at our condo. I assume everything else was great as you did not mention anything else wrong with the condo.

This condo has an excellent location very close to the beach, which is why the host is able to charge a premium for an otherwise dingy unit that is desperately overdue for a renovation. When we arrived we were not able to unpack and hang our clothes because the closets were so disorganized, cluttered and stuffed with beach chairs and large beach toys. Contrary to other reviews, the place was not clean: There was a layer of dust on the baseboards, and bathroom drawers were filled with junk like old hair-encrusted brushes; the glass on mirrors and cabinets was covered in fingerprints, the silverware was sticky; bed linens worn and shabby. We were not able to unpack until after going to the store to buy rubber gloves and anti-bacterial wipes so I could clean the place properly. A layer of black mildew flaked off of the toilet rim when I cleaned it. There is paint peeling from the walls and the kitchen cabinet drawers don't even open/close properly because they are blocked by the stove and refrigerator. I was hesitant to leave such a negative review because Monique was quite responsive and helpful when I had questions before our stay. Some minor upgrades, like a thorough cleaning and a fresh coat of paint would go a long way towards making your guests' experience worthwhile. It offends my sense of fairness to pay over 5000 for a six-night stay, and then spend the first few hours on beautiful Kiawah Island cleaning and clearing out closets in order to make the space livable.

Thank you for your feedback. We take cleanliness very seriously, which is why we were genuinely surprised by this review and strongly disagree with several of the claims made. The condo is professionally cleaned between every guest, including all linens, towels, dishes, bathrooms, and living areas. We also personally stayed in the condo immediately following this guest and did not encounter the conditions described in this review. We acknowledge that there is some peeling/chipped paint in the bathroom that needs attention, and we appreciate that being brought to our attention. However, claims of black mildew on the toilet, dirty or shabby linens, and an overall unclean unit are simply not consistent with the condition of the property we inspected. The linens are newer, and the main living, dining and kitchen areas have also been recently painted. Regarding the closets, we do provide beach chairs and beach equipment for our guests’ use, as this is a beach property. We recognize that this occupies some closet space, and we will look at ways to better organize those items. We are proud of our condo and the experience we provide our guests, and fortunately, the overwhelmingly positive feedback from our other guests reflects that. We always welcome reasonable, constructive feedback and will continue addressing legitimate maintenance concerns when they arise.

This condo is literally a 3 minute walk to the beach. The unit is on the 3rd floor and there are stairs plus an elevator. Keyless entry to this spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo. Patio has a view of the grounds and the beach. Host was super communicative and easy to work with. Unit also includes a washer and dryer. Walking distance to Night Heron Park.

Apartment has a nice view but needs maintenance. Toe molding in kitchen is not nailed down, refrigerator does not dispense water, needs a filter. Blow dryer in the back bathroom is a fire hazard. Plug was melted. Ceiling in great room has cracks. That said, there is a great deal of construction and renovation going on so these small items would probably be addressed. Beautiful beach and gorgeous maritime forest atmosphere makes it so worth it. Monique very attentive and extra helpful with getting me pointed in the right direction to find the apartment.

Location near the beach was great. We enjoyed the quiet location. View of the ocean from the condo was what we expected and seeing the sunrise was a great way to start each day. Beautiful condo. Kitchen had everything we needed. The condo description says it sleeps 6. That’s correct, however the second bedroom has 2 sets of bunk beds so there is not much room in which to move around. Monique was always available to speak with.

Girls Trip

Beautiful property steps from the beach. The condo was very clean and spacious. The parking lot was very dark at night, so I would suggest making sure you have your phone/flashlight with you if you need to go to your car. Would definitely stay again.

Kiawah

The property was just as described. Great location, easy access to the beach. Views of the ocean from master bedroom and deck. Beach chairs and beach towels available. Enjoyed the two bikes that came with the rental. Communication with owner was excellent, very responsive. Downside to our stay was the ongoing problem with ants. Ants were crawling in the master bedroom, kitchen and second bedroom. The issue was reported to Monique in the beginning of our trip, she was responsive and apologetic, called for someone to spray outside the property the day the problem was reported. Unfortunately for us the treatment was ineffective as the ants continued to come in for the entire trip. If not for the problem with ants this stay would have been great.
