Very organized check in process, great recommendations, in a beautiful area. The apartment was very private even tho it is attached to their house. It was a great stay!
From start to finish our stay was spectacular. The apartment was spotless and had a very functional kitchen. Hosts were very attentive yet always in the background and out of sight. Would definitely visit here again.
The property is beautiful. Perfect location right on the Shenandoah River. A short drive to Luray and Shenandoah Park. The loft itself is amazingly decorated and luxurious. Chip is a phenomenal host as well. Can’t wait for our next stay! It is by far the best place we have stayed In Shenandoah, and we had stayed at some good properties in the past.
The property was clean and comfortable. The location was distanced from other properties. We enjoyed seeing the horses, cattle and deer nearby. We were not too far from the national park, the river and other attractions to visit. All in all we had a very pleasant stay.
We enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect and very private. The host is very friendly and replies very quickly to questions. The deer abundant we enjoyed sitting out side watching them late in the evenings. We had everything we needed to enjoy a nice relaxing few days in the mountains.
We stayed here to visit the Shenandoah National Park. It was about a half an hour drive to the entrance. Not far from Luray Caverns and a Walmart. The place is cute, but you do have to walk up a lot of stairs to get to the room. There were 5 very cute cows on site that we got to see everyday.
We were looking to decompress after the holidays, and this property was perfect! Beautiful views, warm, friendly hosts, and so close to Luray and Shenandoah National Park. We were able to drink in some nature and relax. Loved the chickens and the cows. Thank you to our host, Chip, for the delicious, fresh eggs. Would definitely recommend.
We used this place as a home base when visiting Shenandoah national park. The grounds are beautiful and the apartment is perfect for 2-4 people. It’s cozy, was very warm on chilly November evenings and was very quiet inside, and has everything I could have thought of. The host was very easy going and kind! 5/5 would definitely recommend
The host was excellent! We had a minor issue with the refrigerator, but the host promptly resolved the issue. This carriage house was beautiful and very well maintained. The area was beautiful as well, and not far from two entrances to the Shenandoah National Park. I will definitely come back here!
While looking for a place that was near Luray Caverns we
came across this rental unit. Once we saw this unit we knew right away this is where we wanted to stay. The online pictures very accurately described this unit. It was very well furnished and nicely decorated. It was a very
quiet rural area and close to the places we came to visit.
What a great experience we had with our host and the stay at the property. Such a cute little place and thoughtfully stocked with most anything you would need. It was a beautiful drive to a secluded home with rolling mountains and nature all around. The host and his family were incredible, welcoming and accommodating, we can't speak highly enough of them! Thank you Chip for creating such a nice place for a fun and relaxing vacation, as well as the valuable tips for fun adventures in the area! We hope to be back.
The owner Chip created a really special getaway spot. The apartment was first rate and the ability to take our lab on walks down to river and around the valley property each morning was super special. The rest of the day we explored attractions and breweries. 10 out of 10!
The accommodations and location were perfect! I was looking to get away from the hustle and bustle, and this abode was absolutely serene. Plus, the interiors were so cozy, and I loved how the host set the ambience to be really welcoming. Also, for anyone wanting to cook, this is THE place. The kitchen is fully loaded, and the host even offered to lend anything else I might need for my cooking purposes. I would definitely go back!
My stay was relaxing and peaceful. The place had all of the comforts I needed. The only downside beyond their control were the nasty latern flies on the staircase. I am a breast cancer survivor and when I arrived there were white daisies on the kitchen bar, the next morning they were pink. Such a nice sentiment.
Loved this property in the peaceful and beautiful Shenandoah valley. Everything you need is there. The farm animals were a delight. My dogs had plenty of room to stretch their legs. Chip, Please thank mom for the eggs and delicious salsa. I need that recipe.
Our family of four had a wonderful experience staying here for the weekend. Chip is a phenomenal host - we had interruptions to our trip and Chip just rolled with it. He was incredibly responsive to the few questions we had, but he has set-up this property so everything is easy to find and use. The apartment was super clean, the kitchen and bath were well-stocked, and the bed was very comfortable. We also loved walking around the property and visiting with the animals. Don't hesitate to book a stay here - this is a great place for exploring the Shenandoah region!
Nestled between the Washington and Jefferson National Forest and Shenandoah National Park, this property is perfect for those wanting to explore the outdoor beauty of Virginia. I went with my two dogs and we had a blast hiking the remote mountain woods...two great trailheads were only 15 minutes from the house. This carriage house is quite nice and well appointed. Down a gravel road, well off the beaten path, it was a peaceful retreat for anyone looking to get away. It's a comfortable size for one or two people, but up to four could stay and still have space. I highly recommend this house for those who looking to explore the area.
