Cozy Romantic Cabin with Fantastic Views of the Blue Ridge

Special Notice: We have limited the number of guests allowed to 2 adults. Thank you for understanding this necessary restriction for health and safety reasons. We do not expect to be relaxing the limit of 2 adults to this property for the forseeable future. Please honor this limitation. We do allow parents with children to book, please contact us first.

For all Major US Holiday weekends - we do require a 3 night minimum booking. We do offer book 7 days and the 7th day is free special.

We do now have good 5G broadband reception for T-Mobile/Sprint service and we provide free high-speed wifi access. The TV does have a HDMI and USB input I have installed both DirecTV stream and Apple TV streaming boxes. Both are connected via a HDMI switch to the TV. We do have a VHS/DVD player and mini library of offerings for it.

The Blue Span Shenandoah Cabin is a romantic and private weekend getaway cabin with fantastic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah Valley. The cabin is a short walk from the Shenandoah River. The cabin is complete with a freestanding fireplace for those special evenings.
This is a very clean modern cabin with rustic touches that brings you comfortably to fully enjoy the splendor of the Shenandoah Valley. You can enjoy cooking out with the charcoal BBQ grill in the evenings. Or you can lazily watch from the hammock the colors of fall or the sunset illuminate the Blue Ridge Mountains as you relax.
This cabin has two very comfortable queen-sized bedrooms, a full bath and fully equipped kitchen including microwave and coffee maker. All pots, pans, utensils, and dinnerware are provided along with basic condiments required for a relaxing stay.
There is a freestanding fireplace in the great room with a sleep sofa. The great room has ample glass for you to enjoy the views while relaxing in front of a fire. We also provide pressed wood fire logs to burn in the freestanding fireplace.
The views from the cabin are nothing short of spectacular. See the sunrise over the Blue Ridge Mountains in the morning while enjoying a cup of freshly brewed coffee or enjoy the sunsets in the evening while eating outside.
The legendary Shenandoah River is but a short walk from the knoll where the cabin sits overlooking it. This stretch of the river is noted for outstanding smallmouth bass fishing and excellent canoeing.
The Shenandoah National Park is a short drive with its excellent hiking trails and fine native brook trout streams. Nearby is a host of recreational activities to include canoeing, tubing, hiking, biking and fishing. Also, a number of excellent tourist attractions are close by.
All linens and towels are provided for two beds.

Our base rate now includes the local lodging taxes which VRBO does not collect.

We were so happy to spend time in this sweet cabin with the marvelous view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The cabin was fully stocked with just about anything needed for cooking/eating and just being comfortable. Our hosts were easily available if needed, but all out stay was perfect. We even had great sleep! We just wished we had a couple more days to spend here.

Serenity with Accessibility

The cabin was exactly what we expected and needed for us to escape our corporate routine. Location wise - the cabin is perched above the river with an undisturbed view of the mountains. Don't let the serenity fool you, you're only a quick 15 minute drive from town, which houses some of the best ice cream we've ever had. The outfitters was a 2 minute drive up the road for convenient access to river activities, and Kennedy Peak hike is a quick 15 minute drive. After a long day or canoeing and cavern exploring, we spent each night slow-dancing on the open patio as fireflies danced all around us. If you're looking for a calm but convenient getaway, this is the place for you.

Lovely cabin with great view, we really enjoyed our stay.

My husband and I were looking for a peaceful getaway and we found this. River activities close by and Luray not a far drive but we got the quiet peace we sought. We loved this clean, comfy cabin with a very homey feel and the view....... can't wait to go back !!

Stayed a few nights the 2nd week of April. Hiked Shenandoah, visited Wisteria Vineyards, and RiverHill Distillery . Then to relax on A deck with panoramic views, charcoal grill, hammock. Perfect 3 days !

A Little slice of heaven

My husband and I spent 3 glorious days at this cabin. We spent our days hiking trails in the Shenandoah and spent our evenings cooking at home to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and gorgeous views. Very chill, very quiet, and very relaxing. A bit off the beaten path which we appreciated. If this is what you are looking for, we highly recommned it.

Wonderful vacation home

Wonderful vacation home with a gorgeous view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The cabin is fully equipped, immaculately maintained and very clean and comfortable. The fireplace in the living room is great. It is surrounded by trees and has a very nice outside deck and garden. The hosts (Chris and Kathy) are extremely friendly and helpful. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

My husband and I had an enjoyable stay at this cabin. The location is great if you want to be able to access town easily, yet at the cabin you feel that you are away from it all. The cabin had everything you could need and the fireplace and deck were our favorite parts! The owners were very nice and always responsded quickly to messages. Would recommend!

Quiet, cozy little spot

The owners were very sweet and helpful. The house is quaint and in a quiet, beautiful location with a fantastic view of the mountains. We enjoyed sitting outside with our coffee enjoying the view and listening to the river in the distance. The house had all the necessities and then some. Thank you for letting us stay!

fantastic views, super cozy and quiet

My husband and I had a wonderful, very romantic stay at this cabin both in autumn when all the leaves were changing, and in the summer. The views are incredible! We loved sitting on the deck watching the sunrise and sunset, and sitting by the cozy fire at night. During our summer stay, we ate all of our meals outside surrounded by mountain views, and relaxed in the hammock. The owner had great recommendations of things to do...canoeing, hiking, visiting vineyards, bike rides on the country roads, and of course the caverns. The cabin had everything we needed to prepare meals (we love to cook, so that was important). Unlike some other cabins we have rented, the beds were extremely comfortable, the linens were very high quality, and the cabin was very clean. We'll for sure be back!

Well- equipped cozy cabin!!!

Even though we came from a pretty calm environment - the outer banks of North Carolina, it was a fun getaway and a real change. Everything we needed was provided for cooking and also there was a good supply of towels. The water was very hot and it made for a very relaxing bath. Our only bad thing was the weather. Our last day was a wash out, but Kathy could not be blamed for that. It just turned into a day of much needed reading. We were able to get in a trip to Luray and the Caverns the day before and really enjoyed that. We are sure anyone coming from a busy life would really enjoy the peace and quiet of Blue Span.

Unbeatable views!

The cabin was wonderful! Everything was clean, tidy, and comfortable. Perfect size for four people. We really loved using the fireplace (environmentally-friendly logs provided!). The best part was the absolutely stunning views of the Shenandoah mountains, especially at sunrise and sunset, enjoyed on the deck or even through the large windows. Chris was very helpful with recommendations for the area and was quick to drop by when we initially couldn’t get the heater to work (it ended up working just fine). And he was also quick to let us know when the local phone line was down (for the landline). No WiFi, but cell service was surprisingly fine (we have Sprint and Verizon). We would also recommend the Luray Caverns, which were amazing.

We’ll be back!!!

If you need to get away with just some peace and quiet in a nice and comfortable place, this is it! We were not too far off the beaten path, like many of the other cabins, but definitely away from the noise. We never even turned the TV on, but just enjoyed the quiet time of reading and resting And did not have to leave the couch to see beautiful scenery out of the never ending windows!! The place was clean and the furniture very comfortable! The views, and the easy to use fireplace was spectacular on some cool nights! See you soon!!! I would recommend anyone that is using the GPS just have your GPS up and running before you get to Luray and then even if your cell service goes out for a little while , your GPS will keep running. And once you get to the directions that say “the shop” it’s only the second driveway on the left, going up, so not far off of a main road at all.

Lovely Views

Cozy cabin in the mountains. My husband and I enjoyed our stay. Close to Luray caverns and the cute town of Luray. The cabin is comfortable especially the living/dining/kitchen combo. Large windows in the front for viewing the mountainscape. Chris, the owner, was very helpful. I had trouble finding the hair dryer and he guided me right to it. (It’s stashed in a drawer in one of the bedrooms.) Two good sized bedrooms could accommodate 2 couples easily. Plenty of room to park multiple cars in the drive. Somewhat hard to find at night. Best to use Chris’s workshop address for GPS location. Also short distance from Front Royal and Piedmont wine region. Easy access to Skyline Drive and Shenandoah National Park. We had good cell reception at the cabin so we were able to research lots of places of interest. Plenty of flyers, pamphlets and books at the cabin to help you locate hikes, trails and waterfalls along Skyline Drive.

The Perfect Getaway!

From beginning to end, our stay at the cabin was perfect! It is just as the photos depict. The owners are very responsive, respecting privacy but at your doorstep within minutes if needed. The view is spectacular! Sit on the patio or deck with a clear view of the Blue Ridge Mountains or sit inside and see the same view through the glass sliding doors or windows! Eat outside at the umbrella-covered table. Each morning was a treat to experience as the sun warmed the air; a mist rose from the river, temporarily hiding the trees and distant mountain ridges. The retro standing fireplace is equipped with an ample supply of pressed logs for an easy fire morning or night. The owners have added little extras to make your stay feel comfortable and special. The kitchen is very well equipped, the towels and linens are high quality, and a good night’s rest is pretty much a guarantee on the comfortable mattress. Area tourist guidebooks are plentiful for hiking, walks, and activities and our dinner in town at Moonshadows was delicious! Phone reception (AT&T) was very good. We were visited by birds, deer, fox, and groundhogs. The grounds are well kept and the flowers added a colorful accent. If considering a stay in Luray with easy access to the park and town, yet a bit off the beaten track with views and comfort, choose this one!

Weekend getaway

Property was exactly as pictured. The cabin was very clean. Kitchen was well stocked. Beds were very comfortable. Commication with owner was excellent...Chris met us at checkin for a quick orientation. Phenomenal view. My only two concerns...the TV is dorm room size and the speakers are horrible, and a fire pit for ambiance would be great. We would recommend everyone to stay at Blue Span.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful property, and it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, Chris and Kathy made us feel right at home. You over look the legendary Shenandoah River that winds slowly through the valley. It is just a short walk down to it. The sun sets on the Blue Ridge in the evening showing you why it is so aptly named. The sun rises over the Blue Ridge each morning while you relax and have your morning coffee. The wall of glass in the living room / great room that connects to the dining area and kitchen provides unparalleled vistas all day long.
