"Last Cove Lodge" A totally reconstructed 1950's fishing cabin. Very unique
This property is located just 13 minutes to downtown and Panthers Stadium, 6 minutes to The White Water Center, and 7 minutes to historic downtown Belmont. We are a $6 Uber ride from the airport. A huge shopping outlet is 10 minutes away
The place started as a 1 room log cabin that was added to many times over the years. In 2021 we stripped the place to its bones and updated everything while keeping what was cool about the place. We think the result is a cabin with all the character you could want and all the modern features of a true luxury vacation venue. You should take the time to walk the miracle mile. A street that is lined with trees that canopy the road and views of the lake that are just beautiful. You can spend evenings by the rock fire pit with a waterfall feature or on the swing porch that is lake front. You may want to relax in the copper lined bubble infused soaking tub or the incredible steam shower. This home oozes luxury and romance! We have. very nice luxury Pontoon available at your dock at discounted rate for guests.
Please note; if anyone in your party has mobility issues you will want to be careful considering this place. The house is positioned on a sloping lot. The front steps were constructed with boulders, there are spiral stirs to the lower level and 34 steps down to the lake.

Description is accurate and we had a great time. Bob was excellent in communication. Would definitely recommend staying here if you’re visiting the Charlotte area.
I was looking for a stay that did not require a long drive and an opportunity to get away to reset. This property is nestled in a hideaway that is so peaceful and refreshing. It is nestled in nature. The house was very clean inside and the amenities were top notch. The host was very responsive and hospitable. I would recommend this stay as the perfect getaway. The terrain will be difficult to navigate if you have any type of physical restrictions. It is located on steep terrain and requires really good mobility to get up and down the rock step way to the house and the stairs to the dock. It was not an issue for me and good exercise.
The place was clean, host was very good with communication, rooms are great size, showers are huge, gaming room was cool. Very close to Charlotte airport but not that close that it was noticeable, it was about a 20 minute drive to uptown when there was no traffic. Overall we were happy as a family of 5 for price.
My two friends and I had an amazing and relaxing weekend at the Last Cove Lodge. Special shout out to the heated toilet seat in the primary bed bathroom and the hanging day bed on the lower deck. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook ourselves every meal and was decorated beautifully. We highly recommend this location for a girls trip!
Where to start frm the beautiful glowing lampos to fireplace to having a special showing on the TV when arriving. Everything was absoulte first class. Beds are comfortbale towels are amazing, master bath tub is to die for, steam room down stairs is amazing and dock and lounge area is all to die for. I recomend this home to EVERYONE!!!
Bob is a wonderful host. The listing does not do the property justice, it’s so much prettier. From high end appliances to the views, to the soaking jacuzzi tub we loved it all!
Bob and Kim were wonderful host. Everything we could have needed was available. Plenty of towels and toiletries. We enjoyed the amenities inside. We went in Spring and enjoyed the view. We did not use the dock. We brought our dog who felt at home. There are lots of steps which kept us healthy. Bob was great with communication as we had a little inconvenience with the refrigerator. He was on top of it and it did not interrupt our stay. This place is conveniently close to the town of Belmont and great attractions. Highly recommend!
We stayed at this property while visiting Charlotte for the ACC tournament. It was a fantastic location to provide quick access to the city, will allowing us to feel relaxed during our down time. The guys enjoyed fishing and I enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding. The house is perfectly set up and wonderfully updated. We enjoyed being able to cook and found the very large kitchen to be nicely updated with lots of perks. The owners were thoughtful in communication and had wine and chocolate waiting for us on arrival. Very convenient to the airport and downtown...even during friday 530pm traffic, it only took us 25 min in to get to the spectrum center. We would definitely return!!
The property is beautiful, well appointed, clean and easy to find. The host was very communicative even rescheduling my original reservation when my husband had to have surgery to a later date for me. The only downside was the property listed a hot tub as an amenity and what the owners considered the hot tub is actually the copper bathtub in the primary bathroom that has jets. I personally do not consider this a hot tub and was looking forward to sitting outside in a hot tub overlooking the lake. Otherwise a great and comfortable stay.
The views are amazing!!!! This a must go too. Fishing, playing, or just to relax this is perfect. And the kitchen is amazing…. I brought food for the four nights and had everything I need to cook!!!!
Everything is as described. Great location and views. Very quiet and relaxing. House is very nice and comfortable. I liked the steam shower and decks. I would definitely stay again.
I honestly couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else on my next visit. This house with a cabin feel was beyond beautiful and had everything I needed during my stay. The kitchen had every possible thing you’d need to whip up a culinary masterpiece, the wine bar and wine fridge was a wonderful bonus. The house boasts an incredible view from two balconies! I literally could have stayed here forever… and with a washer and dryer, and soaking tub that looks like it came straight out of a RH showroom, I almost considered not leaving. The hosts were easy to reach if needed. I am still in awe of this place and can’t wait to return. I can’t imagine staying in a hotel after my visit to this incredible home.
This property is even more beautiful than the picture show. Our family of 7 visited Charlotte and we had enough space for the teenagers to have their spot away from everyone else. There was also ample space for everyone to get together. Our host was there when we needed and checked in to make sure everything was perfect. We can’t wait to return and enjoy the outdoor space.
We have a wonderful stay at Last Cove Lodge. It was tucked away from all of the busyness, amd so peaceful. It was exactly like the pictures as well!! Clean, well stocked, very comfortable beds. Right on the lake! Bob was available and an excellent host. He was there when we needed him but not intrusive. We would absolutley stay again!
We came for a NYE concert and had a wonderful stay. The house is gorgeous as well as the views and there were so many areas to enjoy: the outdoor couch swings, steam room in the shower, fire pit, relaxing tub, heated toilet seat (surprisingly luxurious!) as well as little touches that made it special like a Christmas tree and decorations and music playing when we arrived. We loved our time here.
This "hidden gem" was absolute luxury and made our Christmas vacation getaway so memorable. We checked in on Christmas day and walked into the most gorgeous cabin filled with christmas lights and soft music. The cozy ambiance was such a delight after our travels. All the amenities and anything we needed was available for our four night stay. The beautiful Christmas lights on the river/lake made the view so magical. To say we had the most delightful stay would be a understatement. This home
Our recent stay at Bob and Kim’s beautiful Charlotte lake house was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the hosts had gone above and beyond to ensure our comfort and happiness. The house was exactly as advertised, with every amenity we could possibly need, and more. What truly made our stay special was the holiday touch. Spending Christmas away from home can be hard, but Bob and Kim made it feel incredibly warm and festive. The house was beautifully decorated inside and out, complete with a charming Christmas tree that brought so much holiday cheer. The interior design was stunning—thoughtfully curated to resemble a model home, yet still exuding comfort and coziness. Every detail was considered, from the well-stocked kitchen, which allowed us to cook several large meals with ease, to the inviting living spaces where we created unforgettable family memories. Bob and Kim’s care and attention to detail truly set this stay apart. We left with hearts full of gratitude and beautiful memories that we will treasure forever. We can’t wait to return for another stay in this incredible home. Highly, highly recommend!
We use VRBO regularly when we travel as a family and this home ranks as one of our top favorites yet! Starting with Bob, our host, he was warm, welcoming and responsive from beginning to end. The home itself is spacious, clean and has a very large kitchen with ample counterspace for family gatherings. We came the 2nd week of December, and the house was festive with lights, a Christmas tree and decorations inside and out. The location on the lake is peaceful and relaxing and a short drive to everything in Charlotte. The bedrooms are extremely comfortable, and the bathrooms spa inspired. There is a primary living room, and a secondary family room. The weather was very cold during our visit, and the house heated beautifully. The house had games ready, a fully stocked kitchen, butler's pantry, coffee bar, firepit, and smart TV's. There is a steam room/shower in the downstairs bathroom and an amazing soaking tub in the master bath. We really can't imagine anyone being disappointed with this home and appreciated the hospitality we received.
