About the host
Hosted by Portia Calouro
My name is Portia, my grandparents started summering on the Cape in1952 and I started living here in 1993. We purchased this lovely cottage when we were renovating our home in Orleans. This house became our home for two of the most memorable and fun years of our children's younger years. We always joke that we would move back to this house in a flash once everyone has flown the nest. It is peaceful and easy, charming and comfortable. Having the water and bike path so close by made for active days of adventuring for all of us.
Why they chose this property
When we were looking for a home we wanted something near the water and liked very much that Seymour was so large and we were not dependent on the tide for a refreshing cool off or an early morning swim. The dock and private beach area were so easy to access at anytime of the day. The neighborhood is so very quiet and private and the yard was nice and big for running around.
What makes this property unique
I had grown up summers with the option of an outdoor shower after the beach and love that this little cottage had one too. After a run on the bike path, a baseball game at the park or a dip in the water it is great to wash up in the outdoor shower.
