The Palace of Dreams – Secluded Cabin on 68 Private Acres
Tucked away on 68 private acres of untouched forest in Princeton, West Virginia, The Palace of Dreams is a secluded cabin retreat designed for guests who crave peace, nature, and a touch of magic.
Originally built by my grandmother and father in the 1960s—with stones pulled from the nearby creek—the cabin has deep roots and family history. In July 2025, we completed a full renovation, blending the property’s rustic charm with thoughtful updates and modern comfort.
Recent upgrades include: • Full interior repaint for a clean, refreshed feel • All new furniture and room-by-room redesign • High-quality bedding, linens, and curtains throughout • Brand-new kitchen appliances, cookware, dishes, and silverware • A cozy new coffee bar setup • A refreshed fire pit area for stargazing and evening hangs • Professional cleaning team hired to ensure top-to-bottom care for every stay
The cabin’s layout is simple, warm, and full of character—perfect for couples, solo travelers, creatives, or small families. Whether you’re sipping coffee on the porch, exploring forest trails, or unwinding by the fire, this is a place to slow down and reconnect.
🌲 What to know: Access to the property is via a half-mile gravel driveway that winds through the forest. It’s part of what makes the place feel so private and peaceful—but guests should be comfortable driving on rural roads. The cabin is surrounded by woods and wildlife, with strong cell service and reliable Wi-Fi. While the Wi-Fi generally works great, rare outages can happen due to the remote location.
If you’re looking for a stay with soul—not just a place to sleep—The Palace of Dreams welcomes you. Come experience the peace, the privacy, and the care we’ve put into every detail.

My husband and I take numerous trips throughout the year because he works away and it help us to spend more needed time together. We absolutely enjoyed this place because it's such a cute little cabin not far from town and it's such a peaceful location tucked away in the woods. Oh and we also took our baby(dog) Bruno and he had such a great time swimming behind the house in the creek. He's a lab so he does love water! The host was incredible throughout our whole stay and we would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some relaxing peace and quiet!
This unique property was absolutely fantastic! We traveled with our 2 large puppies and they had a ball in the creek behind the house! The host was responsive and he had everything there that you could need! We are already looking forward to going back as soon as possible to stay again! The serenity was perfect. I was looking for somewhere for my husband to disconnect from everything for our Anniversary. We had a wonderful time! Getting in and out of the driveway was quite the adventure too! Loved every minute of it!
Absolutely loved our time at the Palace of dreams. A lovely quiet hideaway in the mountains for a peaceful weekend. We took the dogs up for our anniversary and barely left the property. We spent the weekend hiking along the creek with the dogs. Everyone had a blast. The house was very cute and rustic while still having modern amenities. The drive up to the house is a little scary in our mini van but we made it! Just make sure your car can handle a bit of off-roading.

It was a quiet place to relax after long days on the job, and the location worked perfectly for my project schedule.Christian was a great host—very responsive, helpful, and easy to work with throughout the stay. Everything was well organized and the check-in process was smooth.I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful place to stay in the area, whether for work or a getaway.
Everything about our stay was wonderful! Would definitely come back again and highly recommend! Just what we needed for a short weekend getaway. We especially loved the deer and squirrels that visited us several times out in the yard.
Great communication with host. Property was exactly as described. A remote quiet cabin in the woods perfect for unwinding and relaxing with family and friends.
We loved the seclusion, the quiet and large property for our dog to run around. Very clean, decor was cute and fun, beds comfy. Shower was great the soap and shampoo provided were so nice I even ordered the shampoo conditioner for home! The house had everything you need to enjoy your stay. Restaurants in town were yummy! The neighbors were dogs were very welcoming and so cute! I made sure to have treats every time we came and went!
Needed a quiet place to stay in Princeton WV while working a job there for a couple weeks. This place was an absolute gem! Nice and cozy remodeled cabin in the woods. Definitely off the beaten path, but well worth the find. Would love to stay there again if the time and place called for it.
What an amazing spot! I’d you’re looking for a quiet spot in the trees, look no further. Christian was responsive and helpful. We enjoyed exploring the surrounding mountains, the bbq, a campfire, and a movie on the big screen tv when it rained. We will definitely be back!
We absolutely loved our stay at Palace of Dreams! The stream beside the cabin provided relaxing sounds and the small watering hole was so refreshing to hang out in…truly one with nature. Christian was great with communication and made check in and check out super easy! We will definitely be back!! Thank you again for sharing this awesome space!!

Very quiet location. Was ready on time, clean and worked perfect for our trip.
If you’re looking for a unique, off the beaten path type of place to stay while in the Princeton area, this is for you. Just 3/4 mile off Hwy 460, sits what we called “Granny’s Cabin”. Rustic and austere but with all the basic conveniences. Easy access to Princeton and surrounding state parks. Don’t forget to try Dab’s Country Kitchen in Princeton as well. Fantastic food!
This was by far the best Vrbo we have ever stayed in. The house is homey and quaint, very secluded and scenic. We stayed for 9 nights, and still didn't want to leave. Neat places nearby, Moutain Lake Resort where Dirty dancing was filmed.

This property is the most gorgeous and secluded place we could have ever asked for. We spent a week here and did not want to leave. From the moment we turned on the long driveway and reached the house, we knew this was what we have been looking for. Very quiet other than the constant noise from the running creek and waterfall just behind the house put us at ease the whole time. Our dogs loved running the property. The owner was very easy to communicate with and has done a great job with this property. Highly recommend.

Thanks Josh and a pleasure to have yall stay.
Life is short, sometimes we have to just stop and smell the Roses.
It was nice to have a place the boys could be loud rambunctious boys and not disturb neighbors or others that are seeking silence when others are there for fun. The internet and cell phone signals were amazing considering that in town the same can not be said. The house offered everything we were needing for the weekend.
Beautiful property. Peaceful and away from the hustle. Loved the creek running behind the house. Definitely an older house, but wasn't looking for grandiose. Owner obviously cares for it and has made upgrades.

Why they chose this property
This land has been in my family for generations, so I didn’t choose it—it chose me. The property is nestled deep in the Appalachian hills of southern West Virginia, surrounded by forest, wildlife, and quiet. There are no crowds, no traffic—just space to breathe and connect with nature.
What I love most is how it feels like a world of its own, while still being just a short drive to historic downtown Princeton, local restaurants, antique shops, hiking trails, and river adventures. There’s a raw, grounded beauty here that’s hard to describe—but once you feel it, you get it.
This area is rich with Appalachian culture, history, and a deep-rooted connection to the land. It’s the kind of place where people wave when you drive by and time moves just a little slower. That’s why I’m here—and why I keep coming back.
What makes this property unique
The Palace of Dreams is a one-of-a-kind retreat tucked away on 68 private acres of Appalachian forest in southern West Virginia. Originally built by my grandmother and father in the 1960s—with stones from the nearby creek and no road, power, or plumbing—it began as a simple family homestead.
Today, it’s been thoughtfully restored into a peaceful getaway where guests can unplug, recharge, and reconnect with nature. The cabin carries deep roots: my grandmother was a Native American healer, and many visitors say the land still holds a calming, almost sacred energy.
Whether you’re looking for a romantic escape, a solo retreat, a creative hideaway, or a quiet spot to share with family or friends, this space was designed to help you feel grounded, inspired, and at ease. It’s rustic, real, and full of soul—just like the land it sits on.
