Wonderful location and property. Hosts were welcoming and we had a comfortable stay. Hannah shared a bunch of local recommendations and tips! We had a great getaway!
Perfect, quiet location and the host were very responsive! Me and my daughter stayed for a girls getaway for a hiking trip and the location was perfect for the weekend activities. Look forward to staying here in the future.

We are so glad you had a great visit and we look forward to welcoming you back!
Everything was perfect. Very cozy cabin, beautifully and simply furnished. Easy process and good communication. We only had a short visit (an overnight stop between two activities in different parts of VT), but there was plenty of room for our family of 4. Would be a great place for writing retreat.
Perfect stay to retreat from society and enjoy the great outdoors MTBing. Perfect in between spot for Stowe and Killington. Storages for bikes was a great amenity.
For the second year in a row, my family enjoyed everything about our stay in this gorgeous cottage! The surroundings are incredible. The cottage is clean, comfortable, and has everything needed for a wonderful stay. And Hannah and Cyrus are exceptional hosts!
We really enjoyed this property—it was quiet, clean, well-appointed, and the owners were very responsive. We didn’t check out the surrounding acreage much due to rain, but will likely visit again!
The carriage house was a perfect retreat for a combined 4th birthday for our daughter/Thanksgiving retreat. It was in immaculate condition and in an idyllic setting. Even when we all got sick on the second day, it was so cosy to hole up and look out of the huge windows at the beautiful surroundings. Hannah was welcoming, accommodating, and communicative without ever being intrusive. Our daughter LOVED feeding the ducks and playing with her adorable dogs. We loved this place and hope to come back!
Beautiful secluded stay in Roxbury that was perfect for our needs during our friends’ wedding weekend. House was well stocked with everything one would need in the kitchen, linens, blankets, etc. Wish there was a hair dryer though since we were in town for a wedding and the temps were lower in the mornings.
The house was beautiful, secluded in the woods down a dirt road off the main highways. It was very quiet, and only a full moon kept us from seeing many more stars than we can usually see in the city. The hosts could not have been nicer, more communicative, or more accommodating. It was an outstanding experience and one we will long remember. We will stay there again when we can return to Vermont.
What an awesome place to stay! We were out in the woods on a beautiful property and it was so peaceful. It was so relaxing to get out of traffic and away from the crowds. The carriage house was cozy and had everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable after a long day. I especially loved the night skies where you felt like you could see every star. Hannah was great at communicating with us and very helpful in getting us to the location! We would definitely book again if we return to the area.
Kitchen had all the basic necessities- spices, pots, pans, electric tea kettle, etc. Cozy, clean cabin, with gorgeous morning light. Calm and gentle environment. No tv albeit great internet. Intentional amenities like a baby playpen, fan, sound machine. Great for a family of 6 and a baby. Nice, spacious shower and plenty of outdoors space to roam and explore. The hosts were very thoughtful and kind.
The cabin is a lovely retreat! The rooms are comfortable and well appointed with thoughtful touches (cozy throws, comfy bed linens) and beautiful decor. It's quiet, with extensive views of the landscape from large windows. I made a couple of meals there and the kitchen basics were handy. The hosts were cordial and sent detailed info on check-in and directions. There's no TV, but there's strong wifi, so BYO devices. The road to the farm is a hard-packed roadbed, unpaved - drive with care. Once you get there, though, you may be so comfortable you don't want to leave!
This property was centrally located in Vermont away from highways, secluded in the country. The house was very comfortable and the host was very helpful with suggestions and anything we needed.

About the host
Hosted by Hannah Bryant
Born and raised in Vermont, Hannah moved to Portland, Oregon for college and graduate school and wound up staying for almost 20 years. Once we had children, we knew we wanted them to grow up in Vermont. It took a few years to get all the pieces together, but finding this farm was the final step toward fulfilling our dream of returning home to Vermont. For us, hosting guests from around the world is the perfect balance to living in a rural valley. We are constantly inspired by the people we meet here, and grateful to get to know people from all over, even as we root ourselves in these remote hills.
With a background in architecture and planning, Hannah works as an urban designer/ planner and also runs a landscape design business. I am thrilled to learn from this land and to grow our dreams here. I have taught farming for many years, and am looking forward to expanding the gardens and getting livestock. We're adding six ducklings and a puppy in 2024, and look forward to sheep in the future. In my free time, I paint, design off-grid cabins, and cook elaborate meals.
Cyrus works in energy efficiency consulting. When he's not working, he is building backcountry ski and mountain bike trails in our woods, playing soccer, or working on various projects around this 210-year-old farm.
The kids (ages 9 and 11) are living their best lives here, building epic snow forts and luge tracks, swimming in the pond, and constructing stone forts up in the forest. They are grateful for solstice bonfires, learning to sugar (make maple syrup), and weekly trips to go night-skiing with their schools.
Why they chose this property
The Carriage House is a very special place, notable for its big, sunny windows; high ceilings; comfortable furnishings, and full kitchen. With plenty of gear storage, a big mudroom with tons of hooks, and a washer and dryer, it's the perfect base for a ski, snowshoe, or mountain bike adventure. It's an ideal size for an individual or couple looking for a peaceful retreat, or for a small group who want to play games, adventure outside, and enjoy one another's company. Located at the end of a private drive, on a 26-acre farm, it's peaceful and remote while also close to the I-89 interstate and less than an hour from 7 downhill ski resorts.
What makes this property unique
With tall ceilings, big windows and views through the tree canopy to the sunny south meadow, the Carriage House provides an ideal mix of clean, contemporary furnishings and the simplicity of a rural cabin. It is well appointed, with all you need to be comfortable for a weekend or three months. Fall asleep to the sound of the stream outside and the breeze in the treetops. Watch the birds feeding outside the window as you sip your morning coffee, and enjoy a board game at the table after cooking dinner in the full kitchen.
Located near the Mad River Valley, Montpelier, and I-89, the farm is a convenient base for all your Vermont adventures. However, with private trails through the woods starting just outside the door, a stream to play in, and sunny meadows full of monarch butterflies and apple trees, there's lots to explore without leaving the property.
