Everything went great. Communication and location were great! My only suggestion would be to have some other comfortable seating besides the couch (which was very comfy) The only other place to sit was the metal dining room chairs and after awhile they weren’t too comfortable. Also, the outside of the house could use some updating. Looking a little beat up. Interior was fine.
Overall a great stay. The house is updated, on a quiet street, and a nice place to stay. We went wine touring on Saturday, and the house is relatively close to the wineries. Five minute drive downtown which made getting dinner each night a breeze.
Pros:
- Fantastic communication with host
- Adequately stocked kitchen
- Super comfy beds
- Plenty of extra linens
- Nice supply of games for the rainy night
- Quiet residential neighborhood
Cons:
- Unit is dated - kitchen, floors, etc show their age
Communication between the host and me were great. The property was clean and inviting. Located in a nice quiet neighborhood. We felt at home. Geneva and the area around it has plenty to do. There are many wineries, lake shore parks and, if its raining like our short stay, there is always Waterloo Outlets. We had a great time and would definately consider staying here again.
The only area that needed some attention was the grounds.
House was just as advertised - 3 bedrooms, living/dining, and kitchen all on one floor. Very clean, nicely furnished. Two of the bedrooms would benefit from a table, dresser, or luggage stand; there's no place to put a suitcase or anything that doesn't hang in the closet. Beds were very comfortable, with nice pillows and comforters. Kitchen was well-equipped with tableware and cooking gear. Laundry was not working, but the host was up-front about that, and we weren't expecting to use it anyway. Check-in and check-out were easy. Furnace was quiet and effective. We're looking forward to staying here again when we come back to Geneva.
My friends and I stayed for 5 nights at this home in Geneva as "base camp" for our annual wine tour. The location was great! The homeowners could not have been more kind, communicative and responsive to all issues. The house was clearly dated and needed some upgrades but was clean and comfortable and met our needs. The water pressure and hot water capacity were outstanding! None of us ever had a cold shower, even with 3 of us showering in a row. As someone who has been renting in the FLX since 2017, I can tell you water temp and pressure can often be an issue. Not in this house. One issue that we had was opening the front door. The key was very tricky and only 1 of us ever figured out how to do it. Also, there was only 1 set of keys so if you have multiple people in your group going different ways, it makes is less convenient to access the house. I would recommend to the owners to install keyless entry. Also, there isn't much furniture in some of the bedrooms (no dressers, etc) so we lived out of suitcases. I would also recommend some more furniture in the bedrooms. Otherwise, the stay was comfortable and easy. Thank you to Ryan for a lovely stay and sharing your home.
Location was close to everything Geneva. Nice quiet neighborhood. A few things would have been nice to have, like a pound of coffee. Front door only locks from inside. Coming and going has to let everyone out the front then one person has to go out the back to lock up then walk around thru grass. Difficult when dark.
Excellent property! The home was very clean on arrival and was exactly as described. Ryan was a great host and was very communicative. He also gave clear check in/out instructions. Our weekend in Geneva was a blast, highly recommend!
We loved staying at this property! It’s ideally located to breweries and wineries in the area. The rental is a cozy house that accommodated everyone in our group comfortably. We spent more time at the rental during the day than we anticipated because we liked it so much. Ryan was communicative and helpful. We highly recommend staying here when you visit the Finger Lakes! (FYI- there will be an additional fee of $100 if you check out late).

About the host
Hosted by Ryan
Hi!
My name is Ryan and I'm a middle school teacher from Philadelphia. Currently, my wife, brother-in-law, and I are listing our vacation home in Geneva, New York. We bought the property and had it listed in late January/early February 2022. The property is an absolute dream for people seeking a quiet getaway or adventurous experience. It’s location is less than a mile from the lake, close to shops and grocery stores, nestled within a suburban community, and near multiple wineries.
If you have any questions about the property or would like to hear more about us, please ask! Thanks for viewing our listing and we hope to host your next vacation to the finger lakes!
