THE HOUSE & LAKE SANTEETLAH
Designed by Atlanta award winning architectural firm Tunnell-Spangler-Walsh and Associates, this lakefront home represents the highest level of architectural design and offers unparalleled outdoor living spaces in a stunning and relaxing natural setting.

Enjoy drinks, meals, and stunning views from three levels of decks with a bar, screened porch, fire pit, and a lighted pergola.

Set out from your private dock to boat, kayak, fish, or explore miles of undeveloped shoreline protected by the Nantahala National Forest and ringed by the Great Smoky Mountains.

Hang out in a spacious main living space with soaring vaulted ceilings framed by antique timbers, soaking in the view as music plays from the Sonos stereo system. Prepare meals in a kitchen with high-end appliances and everything you need.

Wake up to a premium coffee station equipped for drip, pour-over, or French press. Fix a drink in our dedicated beverage station with its refrigerator, wine cooler, and ice maker. Play ping pong in the basement or relax with a movie on one several TVs.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
We provide 2 complimentary kayaks and a stand up paddleboard.

There are 3 dedicated parking spaces just in front of the house.

We provide access to high speed internet, but Lake Santeetlah is located in a rural area where outages happen, and can take longer to repair in they do in cities. We are unable to control outages and do not provide refunds if they occur. We will work with the provider, Zito, to restore internet as soon as possible if it is down.

Relaxing week

This was the perfect getaway. The house, “Marie” was a great location on the lake, clean, well stocked and comfortable. There are two kayaks and a paddle board to use, and several marinas nearby for boat rentals. We had a great week and looking forward to future adventures to Lake Santeetlah.

Great house

The house was very lovely, it’s in a little cove off the main part of the lake. Owners were very responsive. House has many cool features, games, water fun, fire pit and more! Great stay.

Family trip with adult children and their spouses

Very nice property in a great location on the lake. Connection via phone and email with owner/manager was excellent. House was clean and well stocked. Everyone in my family loved the stay. I do wish we had brought a boat. IF anyone reads this review and has a boat please bring it. Owners provided 2 kayaks and a paddleboard which were great but I really wanted to sail a little. My fault.

Spectacular

Second summer at Marie, and we made some magical memories. My favorite lake rental by far, and the best hosts! The house is stocked with everything you could possibly need and more, and the shed full of water toys the teenagers played with days on end. Truly dreamy slice of heaven!

Stunning Location and Lovely House

This is a wonderful place to stay for your Lake Santeetlah vacation. The host is kind and helpful. The house is clean, comfortable, and well-stocked. My grandmother who is recovering from hip surgery was able to comfortably stay as the front door is accessible from the parking spots and there is a master suite on the main floor. The views are incredible and the dock is located in a cove which allows for safe and easy floating! Our stay was phenomenal, 10/10 would recommend

Beautiful home on Lake Santeetlah

My family thoroughly enjoyed our week in this lovely home! The lake is beautiful, and the home had kayaks and a paddle board (and life vests) for us to use. Everything we needed was there in the kitchen and baths. The entire home was updated and comfortable. The host was easy to work with and communicate with. We would definitely return to this property if we stay in the area again.

Beautiful home

This home is immaculate and well appointed and appears to be professionally decorated! The kitchen is exceptional and the owners are fantastic to work with and very attuned to our needs and we have found them to be very accommodating. Beds are comfortable and we really enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board that are included. There is plenty of room for our family due to the three bedrooms and the number of beds offered. We stayed in this home over the summer and it was so great that we came back for Labor Day.

Wonderful Home - Lake Santeetlah

Our family spent almost three weeks at "Marie" on Lake Santeetlah. First of all, this lake is beautiful. It was our second vacation here. I'm sure we will be back. The home and it's host, Lib, could not have been nicer. The house is well designed and stocked, clean and extraordinarily inviting. We rented a boat at the local marina. Marie's dock is very nice. My children enjoyed the kayak and paddle board. We've stayed at many NC mountain lake homes. Marie is one of the nicest. We highly recommend the home and location.

Family vacay

Amazing lake house, we so enjoyed our stay. The kids loved the kayaks and easy lake access. We rented a boat from a nearby marina and had the best time. The house is wonderfully appointed, everything we could think of was right at our fingertips. 10/10 highly recommend. We would love to return. Lib, our host was easy to talk to and rapidly and courteously answered all our questions. The home is also beautifully furnished and meticulously clean. Our family of 6 had plenty of room to spare. Can not say enough about this fabulous rental. If you’re considering, book it today.

Breathtaking!!!

Exceptional! 100 times more beautiful than pictured! A little slice of heaven on one of the most beautiful lakes in the US. The home itself is stunning with high-end designer interiors - from the gorgeous wood floors and walls, massive range and custom hood vent, to the lush, manicured landscaping and gorgeous 3 patios. Equipped with everything you could possibly need, nothing was overlooked ( host even left us beautiful fresh-cut flowers and herbs!! ) It is tucked away in a quiet corner of the lake with a wonderful private dock with kayaks, paddle board, floats ( and a ping pong table ) - perfect for my teenagers and their friends. While secluded, it is close to town and hiking trails, and Tapoco Lodge ( best pizza ). The host is incredibly welcoming, communicative, and responsive, and I could not possibly recommend “Marie” any higher. Run!!! Don’t walk, to this rental - you will not find a more beautiful home on Lake Santeetlah.

Serendipity on Lake Santeetlah

This is a fabulous house on a beautiful and peaceful lake. Our family stayed here for Thanksgiving week and we had an amazing time. The kitchen was extremely well stocked for our Thanksgiving meal needs and the house was very nicely decorated. Our beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were incredibly clean. We went kayaking and stand up paddle boarding every day and enjoyed the outdoor fire pit. The owners were very accessible and quick to respond to our needs. We highly recommend this property to help you make wonderful memories!

Vacation week with family

This property is beautiful! The house is completely remodeled and has gorgeous decor throughout. We appreciated the three separate bedroom spaces with attached bathrooms. We loved the huge kitchen and all of the kitchen gear they provided not to mention the amazing coffee area and even an ice machine! There is a super sweet screened porch with a perfect porch swing/ porch bed to cozy up with a book or to watch any incoming rainstorms! We enjoyed the fire pit and the kayaks and paddle board were really fun! It is a nice quiet area of the lake and the views are beautiful. We really appreciated how well the owner communicated with us on any needs we had and they were so thoughtful to greet us with snacks and drinks provided for our stay . One last thing- my daughter and I were in love with all the fresh flowers they provided in so many rooms- it was such a sweet touch! We will definitely be staying here again and look forward to returning!
