This hidden gem is located just off Monroe Boulevard on South Haven's South Side. Turn off the main road and you're turning away from the rest of the world. A shaded drive leads to "Lake Daze" - a three bedroom, two bathroom cottage. A lovely wooded lot offers a place to play, explore and gather your family around the fire pit. Tuck into a comfy spot in the screened porch at Lake Daze Cottage and turn off your phone.

The interior is modern and open, with a vaulted ceiling that highlights a corner fireplace. A fully equipped open kitchen blends your mealtimes and gathering spaces together. Keep the sliders open to the screened porch to hear the evening songbirds, crickets and the sounds of Lake Michigan in the distance.

The main level has a bedroom with queen bed and a full bath. Up the stairway to the second level is second bedroom with a queen bed, a jack and jill bath, and a third bedroom with twin over queen bunk bed and a Peloton exercise bike. The main level also offers a sleeper sofa. There's space for your entire family plus Lake Daze Cottage welcomes your furry family members as well.

For sunset views, walk to the end of 3rd Street where you'll have access to the neighborhood association's viewing deck. Venture out to Monroe Boulevard to head towards Kids Corner Park and the locally famous Blue Stairs for access to Lake Michigan's beautiful shoreline. Pick up the Van Buren Trail, a wide paved pathway, to the Van Buren State Park or into downtown South Haven. Looking for dog-friendly beaches? Pilgrim Haven, Deerlick and a portion of the Van Buren State Park welcome dogs with well-behaved owners.

Thanksgiving fun

We enjoyed our stay even though the weather was cold! Great location. Seems like it would be a great house for the summer considering the choice of outdoor spaces. Trying to cook a holiday meal in a strange kitchen is tough anywhere, but we did it and managed to have a great weekend.

Great outdoor space, listing needs updated

The mature trees provide a lot of cover and shade. They did a great job with the outdoor space. We loved the screened in porch, too! There is little overhead lighting in the home and it is quite a bit darker in the home compared to the lighted photos that are shown on the listing. There are some minor things that would be nice to be remedied, such as: drawer for the silverware doesn’t open very far because it hits the oven handle and it would be great to have clocks in the bedrooms. A major difference is it only sleeps 8, not 9 as currently listed (Oct ‘22). A bed was removed from the bunk bed room. We were planning to use that so we’re disappointed it was removed without an update. We managed with the sleeper sofa, but wanted everyone to have the privacy of sleeping in a bedroom. The living room and flooring are beautifully updated. The rest of the house is clean and cared for, just not updated. Overall, we had a nice stay, I just felt the listing was a tiny bit misleading. *I will note that we did not bring any of that up to the owners and I’m sure they will update the listing and assume it was an oversight.

Cozy cottage, great location!

We had a really great experience! The house was clean, cozy and the location was great. It’s close to the beach, shops and restaurants. We would gather at the firepit at night and make s’mores. We had a group of 8 (included 3 teens and a child) so I did feel it was a little tight but we managed. It was a great vacation, we made awesome memories!
