About this property
Enchanted Secluded Cabin w/ Hot Tub, Fire Pit, and Pets Welcome
With a cool elevation of 4393 and 1465 Sq. Ft in size, this beautifully decorated cabin has cozy rooms, hardwood flooring, wood-burning fireplace, hot tub, and two decks with winter mountain views. ROKU and Fire TV streaming with YoutubeTV login provided. Bring your own Netflix/other streaming login. DVD library, stereo, board games for entertainment. T-Mobile Business Wifi. We usually can get around 40 Mmbps download speeds, but occasionally there is some buffering on streams. Because of the remoteness of the property, fiber internet is not available, so if super fast and reliable internet is needed for work, this may not be the cabin for you. There are two beds: King and Queen. Smaller adults or children are able to sleep on the two sofas in the living room.
Enjoy the cool mountain air as you grill out on the upper deck in the evenings. Quiet location on Property Owner Association maintained gravel road. All linens are furnished, full kitchen with all appliances and full-size washer and dryer provide all the comforts of home. THIS PROPERTY HAS NO A/C, but is at an elevation that it never gets uncomfortably hot. We strongly recommend 4WD or AWD due to the steepness of the driveway, and 4WD/AWD is required from November to April. GPS directions could be inaccurate, please follow directions included in check in message. It is possible to take 2WD up but not recommended especially if you are not familiar driving in the mountains. Please use 4WD and don't drive fast up the driveway to avoid damage.
What to do in the Maggie Valley Area: Maggie Valley and the surrounding area truly has something for every member of the family. If hiking & nature are your favorite things, or if you are more interested in golf at one of the area courses, the cool temperatures and friendly natives will make your stay pleasurable. The cabin is very close to the Soco Falls trailhead. Several riding stables, including Queens Farm and Cataloochee offer trail rides daily. Skiing is minutes away in the early spring and fall at Cataloochee Ski Resort. Numerous rafting companies operate on the Nantahala River and several levels of excitement await the rafting enthusiasts. A word to the wise--the water here is from the mountains and it is notoriously chilly! The Great Smoky Mountain Railroad has scenic tours through the mountain passes boarding at the station in Dillsboro--check departure times and inquire about the sunset tours as well. A great spot to view elk is to visit Cataloochee Valley, but be careful on the road in.
Beautiful Asheville: A quick 30 minutes east on I-40 lies the town of Asheville, with its charming old downtown, dotted with quaint shops and delicious gourmet restaurants. If you are lucky, you'll be in town for the Southern Highland Craft Fair at the Asheville Civic Center and see the finest the area's crafters have to offer. In southern Asheville (Exit 50 on I-40) is Biltmore Village, home of the famous Biltmore Estate and Winery. If you have never been to the Biltmore, it is a must see and a delightful way to spend the day. Like any large city, Asheville has a very nice mall and excellent traditional dining, but also beautiful gardens everywhere, and enchanting southern architecture at every turn. Probably what attracts us to Asheville the most are the great antiquing opportunities. Antique malls, barns and warehouses dot the city and we have great fun both window shopping and collecting. If you get a chance, go see the beautiful old Grove Park Inn on Charlotte Street
Venturing to the West: The Cherokee Indian Reservation and Harrah's Casino are a 30 minute drive to the West on Route 19. On the other side of beautiful Smoky Mountain National Park, about a 1 1/2 hour drive, is Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Gatlinburg is known for its unusual assortment of interesting shops, Ripley's Museum, and restaurants. Pigeon Forge is an amazing artisan community with many galleries and working studios. Pigeon Forge is home to Dollywood–Dolly Parton's popular theme park and the area is a haven for outlet shoppers as well.
