Located in Cattail Creek, a neighbourhood in Burnsville, this cabin is in a rural area and on the waterfront. Mount Mitchell Golf Club and Buck Creek Trout Farm are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those looking for area attractions can visit Energy Xchange and Emerald Village. Fishing and swimming offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with ecotours and hiking nearby.
The cabin and its location made for a great escape from the heat and humidity of the South Carolina Lowcountry. Loved the creekside deck and pavilion. Cabin was clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. Would definitely stay again.
This little cottage was perfect for the two of us. Tucked away from the main roads, the property sits on a wonderful active creek. Sit on the porch and listen to the sounds of nature or swing in the hammock just feet away from the creek. We did both! Grealocation
This place is even better than the pictures. Ot was just what we were looking for. Im 6 foot so I had to watch me head on the porch roof but I got used to it. It was a great place to have our Thanksgiving this year and celebrate my wifes 30th. Did a hike nearby, the roads there a beautiful, and we loved the sound of the stream. The hosts keep a great little place here.
Man, when I say this place is AMAZING. It is the most comfortable, homey hidden gem in the mountains. We so enjoyed cooking and just spending time together in such an adorable little place. I loved getting up in the morning and listening to the river while sitting in front of the fire drinking coffee and knitting. There was no cell service (WiFi was available) and we loved that because we weren't disturbed. It was just the most idyllic place. We are already talking about going back in the summer. Thank you, Brad and Joyanna, for sharing your paradise with us! :)

It makes us SO happy that you love this place! We welcome you back to paradise anytime. Brad and Joyanna.
We loved sitting on the porch in the rocking chairs listening to the stream and watching the butterflies. So peaceful and relaxing. The daybed was the perfect place for napping. Our fur baby loved the private deck on the stream that was completely fenced in. Comfy bed, all the necessities. Make sure to screen shot or write down the number for the lock box or you’ll have to drive back several miles to be able to login to Vrbo. My fault. Thank you!
BEWARE not so cozy, cabin it oozes an offensive musty odor.
We drove 12 hours and arrived at the cabin late in the day tired in need of rest and when we walked in, we got hit by a strong musty smell.
There were two ceiling fans going full blast probably trying to mask the smell, we walked out immediately as my husband and 8-year-old daughter suffer from Ashma and cannot risk staying in this place oozing a very offensive musty odor of mold.
We drove for a while before getting cell signal to contact the host that took several hours to reply telling us no refund saying he does not list having AC a special accommodation, the real problem is he does not disclose this place is oozing an unhealthy odor, so it's not about the lack of ventilation system it's about "the musty mold odor"
We rented this cabin because of the good reviews but after entering and spending less than 5 minutes we strongly doubt the veracity of the reviews. We had to drive 40 miles to find a hotel to stay for the week. In the end host refunded $250.00 and kept $877.00 of our dollars.
We are VRVO and Expedia Gold star members and never had a complain about a host or against us.

If this is a TLDR for you, just know that VRBO took our side and this is nothing more than sour grapes from someone who was angry we didn’t have AC. If you want to know the full details, read on:
We would normally let this go, because reviews are subjective and we respect the right to complain; however, this review is so false on so many levels, we cannot sit silent.
1. This guest says we tried to hide that our cabin has no AC. VRBO asks hosts during the setup of their listing for amenities. Our cabin is listed without AC. The cabin actually normally does not need AC - it never has. It stays quite cool up there, especially at night, even in summer. We were in the middle of an unusual heat wave that day, so yes, it’s unfortunate timing for her vacation, but that is all.
2. She messaged us with numerous questions prior to her check in. She never once asked about AC. She never mentioned anyone in her family having medical issues (and btw: if your husband and your daughter both have asthma, why in the world would you rent a 1930s rustic log cabin?)
3. The cleaner had just been in the day before and had turned on the fans because it was stuffy in there. No one was trying to “hide” anything.
4. When they arrived at the home and then promptly left, she immediately contacted us complaining that there was no air-conditioning. We responded right away. She said we should have told her there was no AC and demanded a full refund. She said nothing about a “mold” smell at the time. However, once she realized we were not going to refund her money she suddenly started saying mold to VRBO.
5. As far as us keeping her money…her numbers are wrong. Had we received our full payout we would have gotten $877. As it was we refunded her $250 of that amount. Given that she had booked our place for a week and we couldn’t rebook last minute, we felt this partial refund was very fair.
6. But here’s the most important part: Two of the agents that called from VRBO entirely agreed with us. They said that our refund was more than generous, given the circumstances. They reassured us that we did NOT misrepresent the home. We have a hundred happy people who have vacationed in this cabin, especially ourselves, and found it to be a delightful experience.
It is NOT a pristine, glittering, hotel.
No. It is a 1930s RUSTIC LOG CABIN, which although outfitted comfortably, is not for everyone. Know thyself, and book accordingly.
This cabin is adorable and so well laid out. Brad was an exceptional host and I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful mountain getaway!
We loved this little gem! It's not big on square footage, but it's fully functional and absolutely charming. The creek, mica beach, and pavilion are perfect!
The property was very nice. We enjoyed cabin and scenery. We seen snake by the creek so maybe signs of caution should be posted. The amenities in cabin were good. All in all we were happy with trip and will go back. Owners very nice and responded promptly.
My husband and I stayed in this perfect little log cabin for 2 nights and we both felt so "at home". Everything is so cozy and inviting. We loved sitting on the porch listening to the sounds of the creek and watching wildlife. My only regret was not staying longer.
