Check in was easy. The house was immaculate. The online listing is very accurate. Set off the main roads but we were close to everything we wanted to do. Grand children had space to ride bikes and play ball. My only issue is that we did not have enough time there.
The place was perfect for two couples. We enjoyed coffee on the deck in the mornings. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Overall we enjoyed out stay.
This home is spacious, beautiful, and completely stocked with all you need! Shampoo, conditioner, soap, coffee capsules, sugar — all provided at this location. The comfortable beds and 2 full bathrooms were so nice! We would absolutely stay here again when in the area!
Shipbuilder’s Retreat is a lovely property with plenty of space to spread out. The space was sparkling clean, well designed, and very comfortable. The property is a duplex (separated by two single car garages adding sound insulation and privacy) nestled in the woods but with very nice landscaping. It is close to shopping, downtown Boothbay, and access to local sites making it very convenient while still being tucked away. All the main entertainment apps are available on the TVs for your personal sign in. I have two recommendations: the main sofa needs to be repaired since the seat seems to have collapsed a bit, and a non-slip mat should be provided for the bathtub as it is very slippery when wet. One may have been there and we missed it, but we were able to purchase one at the Family Dollar down the road. Overall, however, this is a wonderful place that we would visit again and would highly recommend!! Thank you for your hospitality!
Shipbuilder’s Retreat was a wonderful place to stay for our 2 week vacation in Maine. We explored East Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor and the surrounding region from this convenient and peaceful location. The home itself was beautiful, immaculate and stocked with everything we needed. Good communication with Jeanne as well. Overall a great experience!
Our stay was just what we hoped for! The property was just like advertised! Beautiful decor and landscaping! We just did not have the weather to enjoy the beautiful outdoors, deck and porch. Perhaps next time!
It was our first trip to Boothbay and we couldn't have been more pleased!!! The Shipbuilder's retreat was well appointed in every way! Wide open, well cared for, and comfortable. We enjoyed coffee on the deck and playing games in the evening. It was a convenient trip to the local grocery store, and was very near to all the beauty and joys of the Harbor, light house's, LL Bean (an hour), and hiking. We LOVE it! Thank you to our hosts for providing a space that made our trip outstanding. I am sorry that I was remiss in posting this review! I was surprised to see that I hadn't done so. We would gladly stay in this space again!
This duplex had a great layout and a nice location. Wish the property had a regular height dining table and better linens. However, the property was perfect for a weekend in Boothbay Harbor.
The home is beautiful in every way. Comfortable and relaxing inside and out. The landscaping is inviting with hydrangeas and natural woods. Just a short drive to Boothbay Harbor.
Place was great & everything we needed. I would highly recommend staying here as it was close to Boothbay Harbor. The Host was very attentive from the beginning.
This was a great find if you don’t want to stay in the chaos of the harbor. Very quiet and relaxing but a quick drive to the harbor for activities (just go early to find parking). The house is well-equipped - we saved money by buying lobsters and cooking them at the house. Don’t miss the botanical gardens, Farm 23 bakery or sunset on ocean point!
Very nice accommodations, everything we needed in a convenient location, would stay again. We had a great quick one night stay in Boothbay at this VRBO. (Only suggestion is better bath towels. We did not have enough and they were thin embroidered decorative type towels for showering.)
We really enjoyed our stay. The property was well appointed with all the amenities we needed for our stay. We enjoyed the evening patio and was able to see fireflies in the evenings. The unit was super clean and comfortable. Our communication with the property manager was prompt. Thanks for a wonderful stay. We enjoyed our visit to Boothbay Harbor.
We enjoyed our stay, the home was very inviting, stocked with all the basic things one could possibly need. Family was impressed with how very nice the accommodations were, location was easy to find, and yard and setting was quite lovely. Highly recommend this home !
We had a wonderful stay. The unit was just as pictured except for a large sectional for additional seating. Very clean and up to date. Location was good easy to get into Boothbay Harbour as well as traveling to near by towns like Damariscotta. It was a nice quiet location to return to in the evening. Bed was very comfortable. Would recommend to anyone considering staying here and would love to stay again.
The house sits on a quiet, pretty lot, surrounded by the woods. It's 2 miles from a grocery store and drug store, and also very close to town, where there are 1/2 dozen great seafood restaurants. The house is nicely furnished, and comfortable. The lighting is actually great -- you just have to find the switches on the far wall. The heat and cooling worked well.
