Very pleased in every way with our stay. House is convenient to everything. Walk just a few minutes to the beach. Would happily stay in this house again.
I dealt with the owner not the property manager and he was wonderful. The house was clean and really cute. The property cleaners could wash the bed spreads but everything else clean and freshly done. I loved my time there and already looking forward to next year
Kyle was so very pleasant to communicate with while working through last minute details. He is quick to respond to questions, offer suggestions, and kept us updated on local weather events. We will definitely book through Kyle in the future!
Great location. Easy walk to the beach. A little workout coming back off the beach. Close by restaurants. We stayed during the 4th of July and was pleasantly surprised that we were able to see the firework show from the pier while hanging out in the hot tub. It was like it was in the backyard. Also if you like to fish the pier is a short walk from the house.
The house was as listed. It was a short walk to the beach and we had no problems going over the dunes. The beach is perfect and sandy. We had 7 people and a dog in the house and had plenty of space.
We enjoyed our stay. Great location and excellent proximity to a quiet beach. There is a seafood market you can walk to across the street that had fresh catch. House was comfortable and clean. Kitchen was well stocked. Great layout for our family of 4. Owner was very quick to respond to questions and helpful. We’d come back again!
We had a wonderful, cozy and comfortable stay! The kitchen was fully stocked with all the necessities and more, and the little welcome bag upon arrival was much appreciated as we hadn’t been to the store yet. The house is bright and airy, comfortable and perfect for a small family or couples stay. The place is newly renovated, but could still use a little TLC when it comes to touching up paint on some of the doors and new umbrella for the outdoor picnic table. We would definitely stay again and recommend this spot to our family and friends!
We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. The house is cozy and the walk to the beach is a breeze. It is decently stocked with just about anything you might need. The owner is easily available to address any questions/concerns. We were three adults and one VERY persnickety dog, who had nothing but good things to bark about the house.
Very nice place. Enjoyed the week. Only thing I suggest for owner to provide more than 1 towel per person. More than 1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom for the week. Some plastic trash bags.
Beach access was not as easy as pictured. Was a relatively difficult climb with children and beach gear. Otherwise a very nice home and owner. I'm pleased.
The location of the cottage waa excellent, only 400 ft to the ocean access. The spacious outdoor deck was wonderful place to sip our morning coffees. We also appreciated the close proximity to Food Lion grocery store. we had a very enjoyable stay. Couple of small things could be improved, for example one of the bedrooms needs a darker curtain or blinds for privacy and the dishwasher doesnt seem to drain well. Extra towels would be nice. Overall, it is a nice place and we would stay here again.
The house was okay. It was not cleaned before we stayed; looked like it had been sitting for a while. Needed a good deep clean. There is an ant problem, so had to be careful if food was not covered properly. The house has a musty smell and one of the bathrooms has a sewer smell. Little bit of a ways from the beach, but the beach was great and near the pier. Hot tub was great too and happy we got to bring our dog.

Thank you for the feedback. The house is always cleaned right after guests leave and freshened up before the new guests arrive if there's a considerable time lapse between the new check in. The cleaning company has provided exceptional service over the years and consistently receives exceptional reviews. The house was deep cleaned a few weeks before your stay. The house is on a quarterly pest control plan, if the ant issue was relayed to me, the house would have been treated within a day or two (at the renters discretion) or they would have dropped off ant traps at the very least. Thank you for providing us feedback on the bathroom situation, it will be dealt immediately.
House sat in a peaceful area, walk to beach but better be in shape, sand dunes very deep. House was in fairly good shape, has some age to it. Bring your own bath towels, only 2 thin ones provided per bedroom, no hand towels or wash cloths. Not much close by to entertain little ones, Arcade across the street was nice.
We enjoyed our time very much. We noticed a couple of things that needs improvement. There was a musty smell around washer and dryer. 1 st bedroom needs a blind on the window. The last thing was the window by the table had mold on it. But we really enjoyed or stay and we would stay here again.

Thank you for letting us know. I will take care of the issues as soon as possible. The window your referring to doesn’t have mold; it’s actually pollen. The windows are wiped down weekly but the trees around the house produce pollen during the spring.
We loved the house. The walk to the beach from the house is not far but the climb over the dune was a bit too much for the crew with beach stuff and kiddo’s. A neighbor suggested the pier which was just minutes away and much easier free parking and we we’re always able to get a spot.
The outdoor shower and foot wash, was a lifesaver getting all the sand off after an great beach day.
The kitchen was well equipped and I mean you want for nothing!!!
We also enjoyed the grill, firepit and deck!
Highly recommend you’ll not be disappointed!
Great home, close to the beach and stores et.c. However, not well stocked (cheap kitchen utensils, washer dryer, no can opener et.c) No toilet paper, paper towels, only one low quality towel for shower each, four hangers in each closet.
Loved the outdoor shower but there were old moldy soaps from previous guests in there still when we arrived.
Overall great place but feels like the owners could "invest" a few hundred dollars a year to upgrade some items to make guests feel like the place was worth the price they're charging. Plus make sure the outdoor shower is clean at arrival. We also had a shelf plus toilet paper holder fall down in one bathroom so clearly badly installed. No biggie for us but a safety concern if smaller kids come with you.

Thank you for the suggestions. Each guest is provided a bathroom towel and the house has a welcome bag that provides toilet paper and a paper towel. I have purchased new kitchen utensils. Since we purchase the property 3 years ago we’ve done extensive renovations every year to include a new roof, siding, deck, kitchen, furniture, appliances, floors and pots/pans. I have a handyman who is typically able to handle requests same day. I strive to promptly handle any issues that come up. In this case, I reached out to see if there were any problems and didn’t hear back for 4 days. I offered to have it fixed, it had not been an issue for the last 3 years and was told to wait until after they checked out, which I did.
This was our first stay at OBX. House was as listed. From NJ- so was surprised by the walk to beach over the dunes. It was what our family loving named the "trail of tears" Lol Would definitely lighten the load next time down. Loved the large deck. House had all pot/pans untensils, crock pot, gridle ect one would ever need. Just need to bring any spices/condiments. Grocery store very close but rookie mistake and went the night we got down there (Saturday) it was a mad house! Did have issue with dishwasher not draining which home owner quickly sent repair person. Loved the outside bathroom- my family also gave that a nickname-- the hammer house lol 😆 everyone used that BR for any heavy business. Had a great week -Will definitely visit OBX again.
The home is newly remodeled with a fun beach vibe. It’s clean, cute, and comfortable with a very well equipped kitchen (if you think you need to pack it, ask first). The bedrooms are decorated in a beach theme with comfortable beds, there a few hangers in the closets and small dressers in each room. The washer and dryer are conveniently located in the kitchen. The outdoor shower and downstairs half bath were very convenient after the beach. We grilled out a couple of times using the park style charcoal grill and hung out on the large deck quite a bit. Under the coffee table, you’ll find a few books and games. It’s a short walk own the road and over a dune to the beach. The location was perfect for our family of three. We were away from the hustle, but close to the grocery store, a few souvenir shops, surf shops, and several great restaurants. We enjoyed a delicious meal at The Mad Crabber (the crab dip is amazing) and had yummy sandwiches at Bros. Beads & Beans in Rodanthe has nice variety of coffees and pastries, and a fun shop. We booked a charter in Hatteras with Family Water Adventures and highly recommend them. We found so many amazing shells and went snorkeling for the first time. Parasailing over the sound with Hatteras Parasail was a great experience. Our last day, we ventured to Corolla for a Wild Horse Tour. It was a fun experience to see the horses and 4x4 beaches, but quite the drive and confirmed we chose the right area to stay.

We fell in love with the Outer Banks during my first visit several years ago. The quiet beach of Avon is our favorite spot to de-stress and we're excited to share it with other people. This house was truly a labor of love for us. We adore the area, the culture, and the way of life, and try to visit as much as possible. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do and if you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to ask.
