This colossal log cabin-style home was built in the 1930s by one of the founding families of Guerneville. The house has an upscale hunting lodge feel that is warm and cozy at the same time. With a mix of heritage antiques and luxury furniture, it's a relaxing place to spend time with friends and family. You'll love the private hot tub!
The river view from the 11-foot-tall picture window is nothing short of spectacular. A large meadow in the backyard leads to an eight-acre private beach open to only a few neighbors. Fish from the best fishing hole in town, or lounge on the beach. Outside you'll find a big meadow nestled next to the redwoods. There is also a large side yard with everything you need for relaxing in the backyard - a covered patio, an outdoor fireplace, and a nice sunny yard. It's a great place to socialize and toast marshmallows over the fire.
The vast living area is comfortably appointed with beautiful antiques and two seating areas, including an oversize pair of sumptuous leather armchairs to curl up in and read a good book. A TV with an HD cable and sports package rounds out the room. Whimsical wildlife art graces the walls, and warm rugs lay on the floors throughout the cabin. Located above the living room is a cozy loft that's perfect for additional sleeping space and a small office nook with WiFi, a printer, a scanner, and a copier. The kitchen has been completely updated with dark cherry wood cabinets and stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher. High-end cookware, a Kitchenaid mixer, a commercial waffle iron, and all the extras make this a well-appointed kitchen that is holiday-dinner ready.
Two bedrooms have windows overlooking the river, and the bathrooms have been completely remodeled.

We had a wonderful time at the house and in the Russian River area. The backyard was beautiful and fun to hang out and cook in! Hot tub was great and beds were comfortable.

The house as the old time feel of a rustic cabin! The furniture and decor added to the charm. Our family enjoyed being inside and of course were thrilled at the experience of beach access and the river.
Our stay was great. The house had a rustic, elegant feel to it and it is located right next to the river. We spent our mornings sipping coffee by the water. It was great!
Great family get together and very dog friendly. Plenty of water toys. Spa had some sand residue, but was great. We hope to get there again. Thanks!

Antler needs some TLC
The location is great and loved our time at the semi private beach. It is a shame to see such a lovely property, which we rented before and loved that stay, no longer shine as it once did. Hopefully, the maintenance concerns can be remedied.

We enjoyed the very well built house. Musty, a bit dusty. I wish the path to the river would have been cleared. It was completely overgrown. Trash was full when we got to the house. Nowhere to put new trash or recycling.

Cabin Close to River
We loved how close the house is to the river. Just a short walk to an uncrowded beach. No dock so definite workout hauling the paddle boards back and forth. Great to have the hot tub right after swimming in the river. House is nicely decorated with interesting paintings etc. There is a spacious back yard but it doesn't have a view of the river. The water is a short walk away from house but there isn't much of a view from the house or deck.

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Communication, listing accuracy
The river access was perfect otherwise kitchen dishes, etc dirty. We had to wash everything before using. There are no kitchen hand towels, Vascasa doesn't supply them. They were not honest about the hot tub- my criteria to book was for the hot tub and it was broken, which they knew about for two weeks prior to our booking. It could not be fixed for us. If you want to use the hot tub, I would double check that it is usable before booking. There was no laundry detergent or any other cleaning supplies. The booking agent was no help at all to any of our issues. Would I stay there again, no.
