Welcome to Hygge Hideaway apartment! Wonderfully appointed living spaces created so you can be as comfortable here as you are in your own home. We drew our inspiration from the Danish practice Hygge (hue-guh) cultivating the feeling of welcome, in the moment, relaxed & cozy! So many things to love here: the peaceful location soothes the senses with the gentle babble of adjacent Rabbit Creek, walk into a front sunroom great for board games and puzzles (the Hideaway provides lots of those). Here you will also find the auxiliary 2nd sleeping quarters with a comfy queen bed! French doors open into the living room where you can stoke up a fire in our quirky German antique fireplace (not the main heat source) or kick back and enjoy a movie. There is a single pull out couch bed. We also have a bonus private alcove we call the Fox Hole. A fun tiny “bedroom” for kids to have their own space. The dining area pass through showcases our fully functional capriciously decorated kitchen. You’ll want to linger a little longer in the sink-in comfort of our California king bed and bedding in the spacious master bedroom suite. It has lots of closet space. There is a full bathroom and also your own private laundry room in the apartment. Truths: 🔅Hygge Hideaway is a lower unit of a chalet house, as such there can occasionally be detected light footfall from floorboards upstairs. 🔅There is no dishwasher in this unit. (Unless you brought a kid kitchen slave) 🔅 While the apartment itself is all one level you will need to navigate some outdoor stairs to get to it. It’s not handicap accessible. 🔅 A vehicle equipped for snow/ice conditions is recommended for winter.

Stayed as two couples. Loved how it was decorated, close to the airport but out of town. We started and ended our trip at Hygge Hideaway and couldn't be happier. If we ever come to Alaska we would stay here again.
Easy to find, very cute / cozy vibe. Set at the very beginning of a gravel road, but close to everything in Anchorage. A great place to end our Alaska vacation!
Stayed as two couples. Close to the airport but out of downtown. Place was super clean and we loved how it was decorated. Started and ended our trip here and wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we ever make it back to Alaska.

My friends and I very liked to stay in this beautiful property
The owner of this property really knew how to make the place feel homey. We had a comfortable night sleep, we enjoyed the area, and we enjoyed the other amenities. I would absolutely stay here again.
We were very pleased with the accommodations and our host was quick to reply to our questions. The place was very clean and quiet. Will definitely stay again while visiting family who live nearby.
Was a wonderful place to stay. Has just about everything needed to a plug and play comfy stay.
One recommendation would be to have a couple lamps bc the lights can be pretty bright.

Hi Crystal, we’re glad you enjoyed yourself! Sorry the lights seemed bright. There are dimmer switches for the main lights and a few lamp options but we certainly can investigate adding more.
The property was beautiful, clean, and spacious! Very well stocked with all the necessities, plus a lot of fun extras. The check-in process was a breeze! We had a lovely stay. I would definitely recommend this property!
The downstairs was very comfortable and decorated so cute. Provided everything needed in kitchen and bath. Washer/dryer was great to have. Furniture and beds were very comfortable! Would stay there again!
Great location, quiet. Unit was in basement, steps to get to the front door, not optimal for carrying luggage, Unit needs a bathroom update, faucets in tub were difficult to turn on and towel bars kept falling out of the brackets every time you pulled the towel off. Otherwise nice place.
Place was very nice. We thought we were staying at the place pictured, but we were in a lower unit which was very nice and quiet. Beds were very comfortable and everything else worked fine. Should post wifi info on check-in.

To clarify the home pictures IS the home this downstairs apartment is located in. There are no other buildings.
We really liked staying here! The whole place is bright (good light!) and had great bedding, a wonderful atmosphere, and cute accessories. Communication with the host always got a very prompt reply. This was one of my kids' and my favorites of all the places we stayed during our trip to Alaska.
