Convenient to Anchorage Ted Stevens airport

Listing was exactly as described. Very convenient to the airport for a late night inbound flight. Great jumping off point for Anchorage attractions. We had one little hiccup during the stay and the host was very accommodating to help us work it out.

It's a really cool place. But, something should be done about the musty smell. I would recommend Damp rid.

Property is very near airport , inexpensive yellow cab transport costs. Very well stocked, with numerous homely considerate touches, making the stay pleasant and comfortable. Negatives are musty odour. Neighborhood is run down. And upstairs occupants noise.There was a little confusion with checkout time, but that was amicably resolved.

Good place to stay for a night. Walls are thin, so you can hear the upstairs neighbors really well, even when they are just walking. We turned on some white noise to help sleep. Neighborhood is a mix of nice and run down properties but we had no issues. Kitchen is really nice, with everything you could need.

THEY DID A GREAT JOB OFF COMMUNICATING WITH US PRIOR TO CHECK IN. I MESSED UP OUR MOVE OUT DATE AND THEY WORKED WITH US TO GET EVERYTHING OUT AND STAGED OUR BAGGAGE TO PICK UP LATER IN THE DATE. THEY DID A GREAT JOB OF COVERING FOR MY STUPID MISTAKE. VERY GRACIOUS.

Perfect for a short stay

The property was very nice. The two bedrooms were pretty spacious and the living room is rather large. It has a nice deck but shares the backyard with downstairs tenants.

Great Place to stay while exploring Anchorage

This was a great headquarters for our stay in Anchorage. The house is close to the airport, but in a quite neighborhood. Having access to a full-sized washer and dryer made it easy to pack light and wash the items we needed to use later in the trip. Being able to park right in front of the entrance made for easy unloading and packing back up.

Cute but upstairs was noisy and watch out for those stairs

Cute property but we arrived after midnight due to our flight arrival time and the upstairs unit was up and about around 5am which woke us up. The footsteps were very noisy above. Also, I don’t recall any mention in the ad about a staircase that goes down as soon as you walk in the front door. Being tired and dark when we arrived, this could’ve been a hazard.

No sleep!!

I wish I would have just paid another couple hundred for a hotel. Property was shown as listed, however, the noise level and cleanliness are driving this review. We were all woken up by people on the second floor screaming and running around with children at 1-2 a.m. After that calmed down, it started again at 6 a.m. and did not stop until we left around 8:30. Noticed when we left there’s a door with a pillow shoved under it that conjoins the duplexes. I contacted the host informing her about the issue of noise and received a prompt reply… but I did not take her up on the offer to check out an hour later. We checked out as soon as we could get out of there. Regarding the cleanliness, it’s decent for another person, but not for me. The nasty, mildew ridden sponge in the kitchen sink was gross and the shower needs to be thoroughly cleaned. Again, we survived… but I wish that I would have never booked this place.

Not as advertised

We never checked in because we couldn't get past the trash and glass in the driveway. The host intentionally cropped the mess out of their photos, leaving only the building in the one photo of the outside. I live in Anchorage and rented the property for my aunt who didn't want to go in because of the condition, and I am completely embarrassed. I'm embarrassed because my aunt was inconvenienced and embarrassed for other's that visit Anchorage and are stuck with this as their best option. It would be so easy to sweep the drive, cut the grass, get rid of the trash and inoperable vehicles. Maybe we are used to a different standard of living. Our trip included three VRBO rentals and one hotel room and this is the only place we had a problem. Lazy & low budget. The owner has made excuses saying it is new to them and the inside is nice which means they know the outside is terrible and chose not to do basic upkeep. Owner refused to accommodate or cancel the reservation and dropped communication, now I'm paying for a rental I was afraid to leave my family at.

This was a great location for our stay. The host had great communication. The house was clean and comfortable. They upgraded us to an upstairs floor since it was available for our night there which was very kind. Would stay here again and highly recommend.
