About this property
Private setting Sparkling Lake Sebago. Newly Renovated spring 2025.
Swim in Sebago Lake, one of the cleanest lakes in the US. This property has been owned and used as a private vacation home for 50+ years by the same family, and was completely renovated in spring 2025.
Cozy, clean, NON SMOKING, surrounded by Sebago Lake State Park. 1 of 7 cottages sharing a private beach. The private beach is an easy 1 minute walk along the road between homes in front of our cottage. Entry is gradual, water level is high in early summer. (Note: high water level in early season may result in no beach.) Water shoes are helpful, footing is a mixture of small rocks and sand. Walk 5 minutes to a large, long, sandy State Park beach with picnic facilities, snack bar, bathrooms, volleyball and playgrounds. Trails run throughout the Park and link the beaches. A trail runs right behind our cottage. Our State Park Season Pass is provided.
Horseshoe pit, screened porch and decks, charcoal barbeque and wood firepit. A great vacation spot for a family with young children, offering a bit of safety in distance from water. There's space; you won't feel bothered by neighbors.
Drive 10 minutes to Point Sebago Golf Course; 10 minutes to Naples. Park on the causeway and walk in any direction to find things to do. Portland is 40 minutes away. Children's Museum, Art Museum, Old Port - great restaurants, unique shops, tours and cruises. North Conway, NH, heart of the White Mountains, tax free outlet shopping is 2 hr.
Walking, swimming, kayaking, evenings by the fire. Bring your mountain bike to ride the Park trails.
Lots of DVDs, board games and a foosball table. Limited TV reception (NO CABLE), and limited internet connectivity, which, due to location in state park, can be sporadic.
Sorry, NO mooring or dock for a boat. The State Park boat launch is 1/2 mile away.

Thank you Kendra. It's wonderful to know you had a great time. Communicating with you was pleasant, and easy. We were happy to have you as guests. We would love for you to visit again. Stay safe and healthy, Scott & Lynn
This house was beautiful! We stayed with our family including two small children. The house was extremely clean and had good lighting. There was an awesome enclosed porch which was perfect for late night card games with the kids. The stairs to go up to the bedroom were safe (not steep at all).
Arrived to find a newly refurbished home with all new appliances and furnishings. We had a wide range from 21-94 year old and all were comfortable. The lake is beautiful and we spent time at various beaches, kayaked, and rented a party boat from Kettle Cove Marina spending a lovely day on the lake. Everything we needed was provided. Nice setting for relaxing with the family.

Una and her group were wonderful guests. We're very pleased they enjoyed their time at our newly refurbished Lake Sebago vacation home, and took advantage of the various amenities. Thank you Una - enjoy the rest of the summer.
This property was exactly as described. It is a pretty rustic cabin. Located close to a few small beaches. Loved having access to kayaks. We had everything we needed for our week there. Owner and property manager were very responsive.

Hi Carol. Thank you for being wonderful guests at our Lake Sebago vacation house, and for treating the property so well. It sounds as though you were as happy with your stay as we were to have you. If you vacation at Lake Sebago in the future, we'd love to have you as guests again. Scott & Lynn
Camp included every amenity imaginable. Excellent choice of beaches close by that were well suited for young grandchildren. Hosts were very thorough explaining requirements and features of the camp. Would definitely rent again next year

Thank you for the review, and kind words. We're glad you enjoyed your stay, the house amenities, and Sebago Lake State Park resources. You were great guests, and we look forward to the possibility of you returning next year.
Could not get over how clear and beautiful the lake is!! What a terrific location, quiet, very nice people, in a state park with great trails and plenty to keep you busy within a few miles of the park!
The house was perfect for a family of 6 adults and one toddler. Plenty of space and great amenities included with the house.
Felt very much at home.

Hi Stephanie.
Thank you for choosing our house for your summer vacation. We, too, love the clear, beautiful lake, and the miles of hiking trails and other resources available just outside our door in Sebago Lake State Park. We're glad the house met the needs of your group of 7. Thank you for being an excellent guest. Communication was great, you made full use of the amenities, and you left the house in great shape. If you vacation in the Lake Sebago area in the future, we would love to host your group again.
The property was exactly as described in the listing. Kids especially enjoyed having their own bedrooms and there was plenty of room for everyone. The location inside the park was wonderful. The grandchildren also enjoyed having a campfire and making s’mores.
Scott and Jamie were excellent at communicating when needed.
Would definitely recommend this rental to others.

We really enjoyed staying at this great home in the middle of state park and having easy access to 3 beaches. The house was big with 4 bedrooms plus 2 comfortable beds in the hall on the 2nd floor. The covered porch was spacious, included a hammock, and there was even a fire pit in the yard (with firewood included). The communication from the owner was superb (the best we've ever experienced). Thank you for a great vacation!

It was everything as described and then some. Stayed here with five other ladies who came to this place to relax and chill to celebrate our friendship since High School. Thank you Scott and Lynn for sharing your home with us. Also a big Thank you to Scott P for waiting for us at the gate and showing us around. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute we were there.
We will be definitely returning.

Fall in Maine
We had wonderful long weekend stay in this cottage with 3 families. The beach was so convenient and a perfect playground for our 5 toddlers! They had a great time in the canoe. The cottage fit the families well and the kitchen had everything we needed. We feasted on lobster and our fresh picked apples. Scott was extremely organized and responsive. The kids won't stop talking about wanting to go back to Maine. Fond memories for all. Thanks again.
We stayed with our 3 grown boys (22, 24, 24) over Memorial Day weekend to celebrate our 3rd son's UMASS graduation. Golf @ Point Sebago, kayaking, Cub Cove Beach and mornings on the deck playing games were some of our favorite activities. House was big and comfortable. Few drawbacks : long list of cleaning required despite paying cleaning fee, house could use some upgrading. What is offered (space, proximity to beach and kayaks/canoe) outweighs drawbacks. Would recommend to anyone staying in the Sebago area!

Just want to make sure readers understand when referring to "cleaning required", this guest is not referring to a need to clean when they arrived, but rather to the owners "to do check out" list. We understand the guests' concern, and in light of that concern, we will review and shorten the list.
We're very pleased the guest enjoyed their experience at our place, and recommends it to anyone staying in the Sebago area.
The location was amazing! The walk to the lake behind the house was like a dream. That beach was either completely empty or there was a family on the other side. It felt like our own deserted island. And just a short walk down the road was one section of the state park, then a short drive was the sandbar beach. And there was a lagoon with a boat launch, where we could kayak in a peaceful setting.
Scott was always available with questions, and Jaime was the best! They were very flexible, helpful and kind.
The house itself was super clean, with everything we may have needed. There was space for everyone, including friends of my teens who came for a few nights.
An excellent choice for families with kids of any age.
This is the perfect home and location and amenities for a family vacation.
The home and property is well maintained with kayaks available, a place for a fire and BBQ, a well appointed kitchen, and has three locations where you can swim in the lake. There are beautiful hiking paths, and it is next to a Maine State Park.
The home is not actually lakeside, but is rather set back a little bit behind 2 other lakeside homes, but that being said, there is water access and a shared beach, and it is literally a 2-3 minute walk away and you can be swimming in the water or launching a kayak.
What is really wonderful is that there are three swimming options nearby, two of which are mostly private. And you can bring your own kayaks or use the ones they have available which are in great shape.
The house is also very cozy inside at night and in the morning, and it is great for cooking, spending time together as a family, and reading a good book. Everyone in the family had a fun time, and felt right at home.
This is a wonderful booking and we would return again.

The house was adequate for our group
Our group included adults children and an infant. As the host of my group, I was disappointed that we had to crane our necks to see the lake, the service billed as WIFI was reminiscent of dial-up and inadequate for even opening email, and the television did not work at all until a repairman came out and got us one local channel so we could get the weather report. The property is situated inside Sebago State Park and that was a special situation. We could walk or take a short drive to the pristine state beach with lifeguards. The landlord, Scott, was responsive to our needs and promised to downplay the WIFI situation in future descriptions as we pointed out that its the rare person who can drop off the grid for a week. Naples Library free WIFI saved the day for those checking in with the office.

I regret this guest was disappointed, and will take her concerns into account, but would also like to provide some context to the remarks.
Re: the need to crane one's neck to see the lake: Yes, our view is limited. Our description not only indicates it is a short walk to the lake, but also states many of our guests, esp those w/ young children, tell us for safety reasons they like the fact the house is set back from the lake, which of course implies a limited view.
Re: TV and internet issues: this guest did experience poorer TV reception and internet connectivity than usual, for which I am sorry. Our description does indicate that, due to our location in a heavily treed area within the state park, TV reception and internet are limited. Based on this review, we'll make that statement more prominent.
This guest's review focused on technology issues (vs quality of beaches, hiking trails, kayaking, etc) and stated that "it's the rare person who can drop off the grid for a week". We agree that for someone for whom staying actively on the grid during vacation is a priority, our vacation home is not a good choice. However, based on feedback from dozens of return guests, I believe most see their vacation as an opportunity to get away from the daily pattern of life and focus on family, friends, and outdoor activities. For them, I think our vacation home offers an outstanding getaway opportunity.
We have become accustomed to hearing from our guests that their experience exceeded expectations. I am truly sorry that such was not the case in this review. Interestingly, this guest was one of two families (friends) who stayed together that week. The other family wrote the following email:
Hi Scott,
My family was fortunate enough to be able to stay with Pat R at your lovely lakehouse last week, and I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed it. Plenty of room and lots of things to do, both inside and out. We made good use of the canoe and kayaks, and enjoyed the family board and card games when it was rainy outside. Also cooked out and in and had most of our meals in the spacious dining room.
The beaches were easy to get to, and there were lots of trails to walk... In short, a pleasant retreat for all of us, adults and children alike.
Thanks for your hospitality.
Shawn G.
Obviously, a different take on their vacation experience by a fellow guest: same week, same group.
Thank you for taking the time to read this reply.

We're pleased K's group found our place to be a "great house". As for “hard to access off season” - so many of our visitors, including many repeat guests, choose to arrive after the busy summer season to enjoy not only the delightful weather and beautiful colors, but especially to experience the serenity of our Sebago Lake vacation house, which is all the more private and secluded after labor day. True, our guests must travel through a state park gate that is locked after dark, which is why we provide a key to unlock the park gate after sunset.
We very much enjoyed our September stay at Scott & Lynn’s cottage on Sebago Lake. The nearby private sandy beach was perfect for my 2-year-old daughter, and we all enjoyed relaxing, swimming, and boating. It was a great trip!

We are so pleased you were able to take advantage of the sandy beach, the crystal clear water, and the overall beauty of Lake Sebago in the early fall. Thank you for being great guests.
We are 2 families with 4 kids (ages 2-8) and the house fit and slept all of us perfectly. The kids loved having their own space upstairs w/ fooseball, games and TV (parents loved it too). The location can't be beat, with 3 beaches in walking distance, lots of trails for walks & bike rides, we did it all. The fact that there were 4 boats for us to use was amazing, every morning started with a paddle. Scott was very responsive and super nice when i reached out to him. Jaime and her husband were lovely, they met us at the house and gave us a tour of the grounds, which was a really nice touch.
Thank you so much, we hope to be back next year!

We are so pleased you took full advantage of all the amenities: from use of the kayaks and canoe, to swimming in three choices of beaches, to hiking and biking the state park trails. We appreciated your friendliness and good communication. If you are thinking of a Sebago lake vacation in the future, we'd be very pleased to have you as guests again.
Hi Susan. We're glad to read you found our vacation home to be a great location with something to do for everyone. You were a wonderful guest, and we'd love to have you return, if that is in your future plans.
Property was gorgeous, clean, and exactly as advertised. The area was so peaceful - taking in the outside was always relaxing. Communication was a breeze and the check in process was easy. Although it rained all weekend, the quality of the property and neighborhood made our Memorial Day weekend a rejuvenating break in a chaotic year.

It was great having you as guests. Thank you for taking such good care of the place. We wish the weather had been more cooperative, but we're glad you experienced the serenity we also feel when we are there.
Beautiful location inside Sebago State Park. The house was perfect for 3 generations (4 adults, 3 college kids) we enjoyed family dinners at the big table and game nights. Enjoyed the short walk to the beach today to enjoy the sun and sunset at night.
Jaime, the property manager was waiting to welcome us, show us around, and make sure we had everything we needed.
Our week was very restorative!
We had a great time at this house! The 4 bedrooms were set up perfectly for what we needed. We went for total relaxation, and definitely found that in this very quiet area. We took advantage of the beaches on Sebago Lake that was within walking distance, many peaceful trails in the woods that we used, and even did some biking! We would love to go back again! All of our questions were answered very promptly by Scott. Thanks so much and will be in touch in the future! Cindy & Joe
Our stay was wonderful and much needed. This house is comfortable, clean, well-equipped and spacious. Being able to walk to and enjoy three stunning and vastly different beaches is truly incredible. Sebago Lake and the State Park are beautiful. It was a pleasure to speak and work with both Scotts, owner, and property manager, and they made our stay seamless and easy. We hope to return next year!
