We were in New Haven for our daughter's graduation from Yale. We had a nice stay in this interesting, spacious, historic home. The host was pleasant and accomodating. The bedroom does not have a closet and could use some furniture for clothes and personal items but the bed and bedding were comfortable. To get to the property from Yale University you travel through some sketchy areas of Fairhaven but the house itself is located in a nicer area. We felt safe at all times.

Why they chose this property
Sister to our amazing hidden luxury experience along the Quinnipiac River in a historic mid-19th century property with high ceilings, bay windows, & natural lights. Enjoy the scenic river and sunset views, and our nod to the area’s history as a prominent oyster port. Shower in our rain shower, enjoy the joys of our new Toto toilet, recharge in the sunlit living room with basic cable, work in the breakfast nook/writing alcove, or relax in the sun room during the summer and with a cup of coffee. Full Chef kitchen kitchen with Keurig coffee maker. We are 15 mins drive from Yale, 2 mins walk to the downtown bus, and easy cycling downtown.
The Pearl Garden, New Haven is a 1500+ sqft hidden experience along the Quinnipiac River, with high ceilings, sun room & natural lights. The Pearl Garden was built in 1892, and recently redesigned deliver a clean vintage and modern aesthetic, creating a beautiful tension between the old, and the new.
We are on a tree-lined residential historic block, 2 minutes from the Quinnipiac River (not the beach). There are opportunities to Kayak, sail, cycle, bird watch, jog, fish, or for lunch. The Pearl Garden is huge. And do expect some lavender, as we have a huge plant outside.
We can make our washer (in the basement) available for guests staying for a week, or more for a small fee.
Before your booking, please confirm our location works for you as we cannot move our property.
Enjoy The Pearl Garden, New Haven. Welcome!
