We really enjoyed our stay here! Access to the beach is easy, and the pool is only a few houses away. The kitchen is very well equipped and modern.

Great spot

The property was as advertised. Great location with everything we needed and very clean. The only issue was with the hot water on the third floor only getting lukewarm. The rest of it was perfect!

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was lovely. my only complaint was when i called akers desperately seeking a means of transportation options to get to the childrens hospital in charleston. my kids took our rental to take our grandson who was admitted and i tried for 4 hours to find some means of transportation. who ever i spoke to at akers ellis was of no help at all which actually made quite angry. we finally called the sanctuary and they were kind enough to send a driver even though our unit did not have privileges. i will probably rent from them next time instead.

The gentleman you spoke to in our office did have about a 4 minute phone conversation with you about taxi companies and did not realize you didn't find this information helpful. We also provide contact numbers to several taxi companies in our app and guest information guide located in the property for guest convenience. Again, we are sorry that there was a miscommunication and hope this situation did not permanently damage our rental relationship. We hope that your grandson is feeling better!

Family beach vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our first family vacation in years. First one to include great grandpa and our 6 mth old grandson! We had been to Kiawah before and as always simply loved it. The best beach ever! The house was great for us. We enjoyed every meal on the screen porch. Well equipped kitchen and the ice machine was an unexpected convenience. I think everyone had a chance at a rocker on the front porch. An easy walk to the beach. But the walk over the dune to the beach was a little steep for great grandpa. The house and location was as described and mostly well maintained. Would have been nice if the porches has been swept of debris and spider webs but I assume that could be difficult to keep up with due to all the trees. Also the kitchen floor was very dirty. Really my only complaint. Bike rental is a must and was a breeze - delivered to the driveway. The check in and check out the easiest we have ever experienced. Overall I would definitely recommend this location to others and would go back. (But I do hope the large gator is gone!) The family has already discussed making this an annual event.

All the things we love

The house is open and light filled. The kitchen is well stocked and the double counters works well with a crowd. The screened porch offered views of lagoon and wildlife; the front porch offered entertainment with golfers passing on fairway across the street. Quick access to beach. House had a beach cart and lots of beach toys for young kids. An ice machine is an added bonus.

Fabulous Stay in May

Everything was easy, from the property selection to check in to check out. The property boasted a 3 minute walk to the beach and completely delivered. The 4-bed, 4-bath accommodations were perfect for us. Great family room/dining room/kitchen space and excellent screened porch with lagoon view. Would definitely come back again!

Perfect Christmas week getaway!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved this house! It was spacious, clean, and close to all the things we needed. The few days before Christmas were so quiet on the island. We couldn’t have asked for a better time! Each bedroom and adjoining bathroom was amazing! Kitchen appliances, eating area, and the porch were just better than thought! Living room was roomy and comfortable! Dishes and cookware could use some updating. Electrical switches and outlets beyond bizarre. Some we could never figure out how to turn on. Bikes that we rented were adequate, but seats kept moving and lowering while we rode. One bike handle was nearly unusable. One bike lost a pedal during the ride. One bike helmet (probably all) had never been cleaned and had spider webs all over it. But the bike paths on the island are incredible—worth all the hassle!

A great getaway anytime

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Everything reinforced the concept of a great getaway. The planning was helped by Akers communications, ready support for getting the right place and making sure all was ready for our arrival. The place is located between a lagoon and the Ocean. We looked a sunrises, walked to the beach to watch in 2 minutes, watched a young college golf tournament out front and a lagoon with fauna in the back. The place was comfortable (two couples) and well equipped. When we needed a bit of hel with a minor plumbing issue, the rental agency responded with support in an hour- all fixed while we were out. The location was very convenient to tennis, golf, beach, restaurants and groceries minus away. Will return - this was our tenth time in Kiawah in 20 years. We'll be back.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We booked 45 Muirfield for 2 weeks in August and had an enjoyable stay. The location is a short walk from the beach, and can't be beat. The house is spacious; however it needs some TLC. There were a number of maintenance issues that we had to bring to the attention of the property manager. In addition, the kitchen was not very clean on our arrival. The management company did, however, send someone over to clean it properly, and responded promptly to our other concerns.But we do wonder how often a property manager actually walks through during the summer season to check on things.

The stay at 45 Muirfield may have been our most enjoyable. A lovely home, but primarily we were pleased with the location-a porch on the lagoon teeming with wildlife, a short walk to the beach and a grassy expanse across the street for little boys to throw frisbees/balls.

Great location!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at 45 Muirfield Lane. The location of the house is perfect! It is a short walk to the beach and the neighborhood pool is right down the street. The layout of the house is great and works well for a large family! The house was not as clean as I would have liked (especially the common areas) and the house could use a little updating in general. Some of the appliances need to be replaced - the dishwasher and dryer barely work. We did not have internet for the first part of our stay which was inconvenient when we needed to be working remotely. However, the rental company was responsive when we called and did their best to get the dryer working and the internet restored.

This is our second time staying in this home... bathroom renovations were lovely. Only complaint would be the cleanliness this time around. The kitchen in particular...cookware, utensils, plates, glasses etc. We found wine splattered in glasses in the cabinet (clearly they were used). Items looked like they were put away dirty. The Kitchen table was left with sticky stuff all over it. I was upset especially in light of Covid-19. I wasn't sure how clean things were. Made me question bed linens etc.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was extremely poorly maintained. Dishwasher barely cleaned dishes. Washing Machine was loud and made squeaking noises that reverberated through the house. Many of the fixtures were broken or falling out of the walls. Also, when we checked in the house was not cleaned, we found garbage under beds and on counters, floors not cleaned, etc., which was dangerous in light of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Whoever your cleaning service is, kudos to them! This was the cleanest house we've ever stayed in. The location was absolutely perfect!! We fished from the bridge every day. The walk to the beach was short and easy. The Sanctuary was still closed in late May, but had it been open, it's faster to walk than to drive there! The kitchen was more than adequately supplied. We had everything we needed. The outdoor shower was awesome! We ate and played games on the back deck. The temperature was comfortable in every room of the house. We wish we never had to leave!! Just a wonderful place to stay!!

Good escape from the Virus
