Welcome to the Schuy Shack in The Villages, FL!


Welcome to The Villages, a retirement community, where golf and pickle ball are abundant. The Schuy Shack is conveniently located between Lake Sumter and Brownwood in the highly sought-after village of Duval. It is a short distance from the Sea Breeze Rec Center with pickle ball, tennis and shuffle board. It is 3 minutes to the Duval (adult only) pool. It’s a golfer’s haven with 8 – 10 golf courses within minutes. It is also close to shopping. Includes a golf cart and is small dog friendly.

Enjoy lots of space with this well equipped 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms ranch. We have a an electric recliner and a sofa with 2 electric recliners. One bedroom includes a desk with a monitor and printer. We provide a grill with a nice backyard. You can easily walk to the adult pool and we are located within a 10 minutes cart ride to a dog park.

You can access most of the amenities with a free guest pass, There is the option to get a resident ID with a $50 fee that is paid to The Villages.

For your convenience, we provide self check in and while we can’t guarantee early arrival availability, if the house is ready we will allow you early access.

Guests love our location because they can get to Sumter and Brownwood within a 15 minute golf cart ride and Spanish Springs and Saw Grass within 30 minutes. It is a great place to stay if you are looking for your next home.

My husband and I reside full time in Michigan but visit The Villages as often as possible to see our sister and brother in law as well as enjoy the nice weather and all the amenities. We visited for a few years then "drank the Kool Aid" and decided to buy a place of our own. Since we are not full-time residents, we decided to rent our place so others can enjoy golfing, pickleball, nightly entertainment and all the other amenities while driving around on a golf cart.

Why they chose this property

The Villages is a retirement community that is home to over 100,000 people. While it is a very large community and growing, it is separated by villages that make it seem smaller. Our house is located in the Village of Duval, which is centrally located between the two main town centers - Sumter and Brownwood - where they have entertainment nightly. It has several golf courses within a 10 minute golf cart ride and is within 15 minutes to two shopping areas.

What makes this property unique

The Villages is a golf cart community. You can go anywhere on a golf cart. Our rental includes a 2 seater golf cart. Renters must sign a golf cart waiver.
