Experience the unparalleled charm of a private 8-acre island retreat nestled in the heart of Maine's scenic landscape. Sandra's Cabin, a newly constructed luxury abode, graces Murch Island in Franklin, Maine, promising a blend of comfort and adventure.
Access to the island is exclusively by water, with parking available at no cost for your convenience. 224 Georges Pond Road is the parking lot and boat dock. A seamless journey to your island retreat and allows you to plan your day trips on your schedule with these 3 options:
- Bring your own boat.
- Rent a boat from a local boat service (Downeast Boat Rentals).
- We can drop you off the first day with all your belongings and pick you up on the last. You'll sign a waiver for passage.
If you choose to travel to/from the island to shore, you can easily kayak or take a boat. (5 minutes by kayak, 1 minute by boat). There is parking for your vehicle on shore at 224 Georges Pond Road and a quick hop down the street is the main beach where you will launch a boat. Should you wish to leave during your stay you will travel between the island dock and 224 dock.
Discover the enchanting surroundings as you wander along the island's winding paths, immersing yourself in the natural beauty of moss-draped boulders, towering spruces, and the serene waters of Georges Pond. We live on Georges Pond so we have loved Murch Island for many years! When it became available for purchase, we thought that it would make a wonderful place for others to come and enjoy Georges Pond with their family.
What makes this property unique
This 8.4 acre Island will be an exclusive offering so that customers have privacy and total use of the Island themselves! Sandra's Cabin is a brand new construction and is beautifully built and decorated. While having the conveniences of home, the whole property will have the feel of being at camp! Sleep in the cabin or use a pup tent and spend the night out under the stars.... the choice is yours.
