Tandem Cottage: Cozy Coastal Cottage, Short Walk to the Sand!

Summary:
Take a step back in to simpler times. Your family and friends will love this 1950's Fisherman's cottage charmer - a little hidden gem in OBX! The property has been painstakingly renovated to bring back the good ol' days while providing guests with all the amenities of home.

We're dog friendly - WOOF! We do have a two dog maximum policy (no cats, please!), but no additional pet fees. Located across the street from a beach access, the two bedroom, one bath cottage sits on a semi-oceanfront lot. The building has been lifted so you can enjoy views of the sound, catch beautiful sunsets, and watch kite-boarders in the distance. Other property features include WIFI, flat screen TVs (3), a well-stocked kitchen, and a fire pit. 

One of two cottages on site, the property is a part of one of the few cottage courts still existing in Nags Head.

The house is darling, very clean, and directly across the street from the beach, which was very convenient. It has a nice back area to walk the dog and sit and enjoy the sounds of the beach. We were able to walk to several places including Sam and Omies and Sea Level coffee. It is perfect for a couple to stay in and we will recommend this place to friends.

We had a wonderful weekend trip at Tandem Cottage. The house was very clean and well kept. The back yard was a perfect spacious place to let our dogs out to use and it was a very quick and easy walk to get to the beach access.

We left with full hearts, wonderful memories, and that familiar feeling of wishing we could stay just one more night. Tandem Cottage is truly a little gem, and we would be more than happy to come back. If you are looking for a peaceful, charming, and welcoming place to enjoy Nags Head, you will be hard-pressed to find a sweeter spot. It was a short walk to the beach or the sound and we had perfect fall weather. Thank you for sharing your little piece of the Outer Banks with us. We enjoyed our time here!

09/26/2026 - 10/01/2026. My wife and I came down for 5 days. We got someone to watch our pooch. The cozy cottage was just that. Cozy for the short time we stayed there. Check in was a breeze. Good communications with Amy. Very clean place, fully stocked kitchen, nice little bathroom and comfortable beds. Even kicked a fire outside in the fire pit. The only negative was the refrigerator freezer had some rattling noise that sounded like morse code, but we delt with it. There is even a washer and dryer next door with all kinds of beach chairs/accessories for use. Great location. Would definitely come back.

This stay will be living on our mind all year! We had the best time, the property was exactly as described, very clean & perfectly positioned that you really could park the car and walk everywhere during the stay. The beach access across the street was obviously our favorite part as we were there for beaching in the morning and adventuring at night. The host was incredibly accommodating & we are already looking to book for next year with our pup, who had the best experience for his first ever vacation! We are officially OBX people who wouldn’t vacation anywhere else!

This cottage is in the perfect location! Right across the street from beach access and close to all the nice shops. It was pet friendly which was great! The host was amazing and continued to check in throughout our stay. We will definitely be booking another vacation here in the future.

Great communication with Amy…Cottage is very well stocked if you choose to cook. Very clean. Beach is a couple minute walk across the street…..there is a Long Beach mat to assist getting up the dune…. which is helpful …especially if you are working on various pains and other injuries…..beach is very private during the week….a bit more sun people during the weekend. We came to relax so spent time relaxing in cottage…watching sports and such….Living room couch was very uncomfortable….bed was nice….Overall excellent time……would stay again…. again….

The property is a 2 minute walk to touch the ocean, which you can hear from the porches as waves crash. The kitchen has some views of the sound. The property was very clean, and had everything we needed for a 2 night stay (and could have accommodated a full week if we tried). There was abundant natural light thanks to windows every where possible, and the ambient lighting in the house made it feel luxurious. The beds were comfortable, bathroom was clean and tidy, and kitchen had everything we needed and more. Overall, this is one of the best properties we’ve had the benefit of enjoying, and it was a great last minute deal.
