About this property

Short Walk to Short Sands & Long Sands! Affordable Vacation in York! #1

Welcome to Crowes Cottage #1! Located between the beaches, these charming cottages provide a rare opportunity for the perfect vacation in Maine. Think rustic meets modern! Relax for a week (or two!) at the seacoast, reminiscent of the way life used to be or as we say in Maine, "the way life should be".

2 Bedroom, 1 bath cottage. There is a window ac in the living room and in both bedrooms upstairs. Each cottage has it's own charcoal grill, we provide the charcoal & lighter fluid.

The showers are small stall showers and we do have an outdoor enclosed shower that has hot and cold water (beside the shed)

There is a picnic table for each cottage & Adirondack chairs for enjoying your outdoor space.

Crowes is located so close to everything you can literally park the car and leave it for the week while you enjoy walking to two beaches and downtown York Beach.

We will do our absolute best to ensure you love your time here and want to come back year after year.

Please Note- this cottage is the only 2 story cottage. The stairs to get upstairs are very narrow & steep. We do not recommend this cottage for anyone that may have trouble with stairs or small children

We do not provide bed sheets, pillow cases or bath towels. Renters are to provide their own. We do have a thin quilt on each bed.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Great location, perfect to walk to short sands, could also walk to long sands, AC worked great, was very clean upon arrival. Quarters are tight-especially the shower but we knew that when booking and was fine for our family of 4.Cannot beat the value for the location. Will likely stay again!

Beautiful cottage just 5 minutes walk from the beach

The cottage was perfect for us. We felt like home right away. Quiet area, clean house and nice front porch to relax after a day at the beach. We will be back!

Great affordable and convenient

Second year staying in this amazingly affordable rental and very pleased. You won’t find a better pet friendly beach rental in such close proximity to short sands, long sands and nubble light at such an amazing price! It is a little tight in some places like the stairs and bathroom but well worth it.

The place was nice with a good location. There was a nice breeze in the cottage with 3 air conditioners when needed. The weather was great so we didn’t spend a lot of time inside. The picnic table with a charcoal grill was a plus for us. The shower was a little on the small side but doable. It was a bit small for 4 adults, 1 child, and an infant. We had a great time. Thank you.

It was a nice cottage. The stairs are definitely for able-bodied people - very steep and narrow. We liked proximity to the beach- within a pleasant walking distance even for the youngest person.We were disappointed that communication was non-existent with the owner. They gave us the info we needed to know about checking in, etc. But when sending a message we never got a response.We also noted that cleaning was minimal - we left it cleaner than when we arrived. We also found several items left behind by previous guests (proving our suspicion that the cottage is not thoroughly cleaned between rentals).If you can overlook those little inconveniences, then it is a very nice place to stay!

VRBO assistance

The property we stayed at was clean and in a great location. We had some initial issues and could not contact VRBO. Wondering why VRBO does not have a number to call in case of issues upon initial arrival. We did email the owner via VRBO but that is not a priority contact method.
