About this property

Historic South Hill Craftsman / Updated & Refined

Welcome to a thoughtfully updated and beautifully preserved 1904 Craftsman, where historic character meets modern comfort. This well-cared-for home is designed for guests who appreciate original details, quality furnishings, and a peaceful place to relax while visiting Spokane.

With five bedrooms, six beds, and accommodations for up to 10 guests, the home works especially well for families, professionals, and groups looking for a comfortable stay together. Original woodwork, antique lighting, a classic clawfoot tub, and a baby grand piano give the home character you won't find in a typical rental. We take great care in maintaining the property and welcome guests who will enjoy and treat the home with the same consideration.

The well-equipped kitchen features Viking appliances, granite countertops, and a nice space for preparing meals at home. Gather on the welcoming front porch, relax on the back patio, or enjoy a quiet moment on the private upper balcony. Throughout the property, there are spaces to spend time together as well as comfortable places to retreat and unwind.

Outside, the established yard features seasonal cherries, pears, herbs, mature landscaping, and shade beneath a graceful weeping willow, with solar lighting adding to the ambiance in the evening.

A few important details about this historic home:

This is a multi-level 1904 property with steeper-than-average stairs. The primary sleeping areas are on the upper levels, with an additional sleeping space in the basement, so the home's layout may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility.

There are two bathrooms. The second-floor bathroom features a compact clawfoot soaking tub with a handheld sprayer, while the main-floor bathroom contains the home's only traditional shower. As is common in historic homes, both bathrooms are smaller than those typically found in newer construction.

The home does not have central air conditioning. Window A/C units are provided in select bedrooms, and the third-floor suite has a portable A/C unit. Because heat naturally rises, the third floor can become warmer during periods of high summer temperatures. Guests visiting during particularly hot weather should take this into consideration when planning sleeping arrangements.

Located on Spokane's lower South Hill near downtown, the home provides convenient freeway access in an established residential neighborhood. Nearby you'll find a neighborhood park and playground, bluff hiking trails, Manito Park, and the beautiful tree-lined streets for which Spokane's South Hill is known.

If you're looking for a peaceful, distinctive Spokane stay and appreciate the character and care of a historic home, we'd be happy to welcome you.

This was the best home rental we’ve stayed in. We use VRBO all the time, several times a year. This home was beautiful, stocked with anything you could think of, and so quaint. The owner maintained the home’s integrity whilst providing modern amenities. It was really like staying at a friend’s house.

This house absolutely made our stay in Spokane an outstanding experience. The location is perfect if you’re looking to experience all the different things offered in Spokane, close to downtown, lots of restaurants, beautiful parks to visit, adorable safe neighborhood, and a yoga studio within walking distance. The house itself is beautiful, charming, well organized, stocked with everything labeled for quick access and most importantly every bed was super comfortable allowing for the most restful nights.

We visired with my son, his wife and three very young children (4 yr old and 2 18 month olds) The house was very clean and very well stocked with items you might have forgotten. Extra bottle water was supplied in every room. Bathrooms had extra tooth brushes, soaps and even makeup. Every type of utensiles were in the kitchen. Three types of coffe makers (standard drip with coffe grinder, Krueg and Nespresso), plenty of pods for all. The house has four levels with bed rooms in the basement , 2nd and 3rd floors. The refrigerator had many condiments and other items. The yard was well maintained with a lot different varieties of plants and vegetables. Our family enjoyed our visit and would recommend it to our friends.

Wow! This home was impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and the fully stocked kitchen was a lovely surprise! Our kids (ages10-14) thoroughly enjoyed exploring the home’s hidden rooms, playing the Xbox games and entertaining us at the piano. The upstairs porch is glorious and cozy on a cloudy afternoon. All of the beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of sleeping options for our group of 4 adults and 4 kids. Note that the stairs are steep, so this home may not be ideal for young children or older adults, but for our crew (between the ages of 10 and 63), it was just fine! Anna was very attentive and communicative! There was plenty of street parking available, and the neighborhood was adorable and felt very safe. There is a gas station/convenience store within walking distance, as well. The location to excellent- close to downtown and Manito Park. We really enjoyed this home and our kids are requesting that we stay there again, every time we visit Spokane!

We came for Hoopfest 2026 with a group of 12 including a baby. The house was very clean, in a good neighborhood and close to where our games were held. We had an easy check in and check out process and our host was very accommodating. I would definitely book again!

The house is beautiful. The kitchen has more than enough of everything you could possibly need. And the lower garden area is a lovely and a comfortable area to relax and share a meal. The bathroom situation was challenging for us. There were six of us staying at the house. We found neither bathroom comfortable for showering/bathing. The shower is tiny and the bathtub is also small; one can only sit in it. We made do, but a normal sized shower/tub would have made our stay perfect. Overall, the house is a nice place to stay and the neighborhood is beautiful. We enjoyed walking around the tree lined streets and seeing all the beautiful old homes in the area. And Manito Park is only a few miles away.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. We're so glad you enjoyed the house, found the kitchen well-stocked, and had the opportunity to relax in the garden area and explore the beautiful South Hill neighborhood. We agree that the tree-lined streets and nearby Manito Park make this area especially special. We appreciate your feedback regarding the bathrooms. As a historic 1904 home, the bathrooms are smaller than those found in many newer homes, and we do our best to provide transparent photos and descriptions so guests know what to expect. We're happy to hear that despite this, you enjoyed your stay and found the home to be a beautiful place to spend time together. Thank you again for staying with us, and we would love to host you again in the future.
