Palms Resort #2811 is a Junior 2BR/2BA, which is a 2 bedroom with a full-sized master plus a smaller bedroom and two full sized bathrooms, one with a walk-in shower. The master has a king-sized bed with flat screen TV, the second bedroom has a full-over-full bunkbed, flat screen and its own bathroom entry. With a pull-out sofa bed in the living room, this lovely condo sleeps a maximum of 6 guests! The Palms of Destin Resort features a 2,265 square foot state-of-the-art fitness center including elliptical cardio treadmills, cross trainers, bikes and summit trainers each having a personal entertainment system.

The Palms of Destin offers full size basketball courts and two lighted tennis courts, with complimentary equipment available from guest services in the resort lobby. The Palms of Destin also offers lessons and clinics taught by USPTA and USPTR tennis professionals.

Room was as advertised, bring extra tissue, beautiful view from balcony, spent alot of time on the balcony, gorgeous pool area, and very convenient location, elevators were not a problem even on a busy holiday week, kids really enjoyed the stay.

Great location

Our family had a great time and the resort was incredible. Definitely family friendly, great location to shops/restaurants, and right across the street from the immaculate water and beach. Gave this a 4 star overall because our condo should have been better cleaned as there were some areas we had to clean ourselves to meet expectations (e.g., sand on floor, hair in showers), but our overall experience was great.

We enjoyed our stay. Traveled with two kids ages 6 and 8. Pool was wonderful. The restaurant next to the pool had genuinely great food. A walk to the beach was too far for our crew so we drove to Henderson state park beach just four minutes away. They had chair and umbrella rental for $60 for the whole day, $35 for a half day from 1-5 which was a comparable rate to other services it seemed. I wish there was a way to leave the things that we bought like a cooler, beach toys etc for the next group either in our room or on the property. Located conveniently to everything.

Great Condo - Not the best Complex

Our condo was fantastic. Extremely comfortable and very well appointed. However, the Palms property was not so good. The staff is not friendly, the parking situation and the location of the parking garage was annoying, and the pool was not clean.

Amazing Resort/Condo with great view!

My family and I stayed 5 days at this resort. The grounds were beautiful especially the pool/restaurant/ bar area which is were we spent the the majority of our time when we were not at the beach or doing other activities. The condo was clean and exactly as described. Our washing machine was not working when we arrived, and the property management team quickly worked to put a new washing machine and dryer in the room the next day. The new dryer however didn’t work for us either. The property management team did leave a nice gift bag in our room the next day with snacks, wine, and a gift card to compensate for the washing machine and dry issue, and they provided free dry cleaning service for us during the remainder of our stay at a nearby cleaning service. Other than this we enjoyed the condo and our stay and would stay here again.

Nice, but...

Overall our time there was good. There are a few issues that management might consider and some for the owner. Checking in. Not sure if RealJoy knows this, but the hotel management would have given us our codes for the building, garage, and pool before 4pm. They didn’t mind and there was no such thing as a $300 fee for receiving the codes and bracelets for the pool. There should also be more information regarding on how and where to check in. Because there are many management companies (for condo owners) and then the hotel management. The room. Nice, but there must have been construction being done in the unit. Dust was everywhere. Also, please replace those pillows, add a few blankets. And a swiffer mop/broom would have been nice too. Other then a slow drain in the master bedroom and tv cables everywhere the condo was a great place to stay. We will return to Destin, in the summer though. That ocean and pool water was cold!

Wonderful weekend at The Palms

We loved our weekend at The Palms! The pool area is fabulous and we loved all the games available to play poolside— corn hole, chess, and pool inside the restaurant bar area. It was also wonderful to have the indoor pickle ball court for the rainy Saturday afternoon. It was really great to be able to drive just across the road and park to go to a public beach area. I will say that that area is rather small right across the road. The public access there is not very big, so if you’re looking for a little more room to spread out, you might want to go to Henderson State Park beach area. We chose to drive across the road but you could walk if you didn’t have too much to carry. The condo was just as the pictures I suggested. We had everything we needed, and when we realized that a comforter was missing from one of the bunkbeds all it took was a quick call and they brought it to us which was great. One additionally, nice detail is that the bunkbeds are actually full size beds. Our teenage children were thrilled to have a little more space for sleeping. The view from the balcony is quite lovely. I will say that sometimes the noise of cars on the main drag that is between the condos, and the beach was a little bit loud when sitting on the balcony , but it wasn’t enough to be a significant bother. We had a really great time and we would love to come back sometime.

You couldn't pay me enough to go back to this place. Poorly poorly managed!

I am usually not one to even give a review but this place was not what I expected for the price we paid. Besides the condo being unkept, the facilities (elevator, hallways,etc) were also less than accommodating. Yes, Florida is hot so when I walk into a building, elevator, room in the co do, I expect a sense of refreshment. No, not this place. If we tried to turn the air down the AC unit would completely shutdown. Another thing was the dryer in our unit. I decided to take apart the lint trap, I pulled out a heaping large plate full of lint that had been blocking the passage of air, therefor not being able to dry clothes for 6 of us. Which brings me to my next complaint (by the way there won't be enough room to list all of my complaints) they should never say this place sleeps 6. Maybe uncomfortably 6. The furniture is too big in each room to be able to move w all luggage. And we had 1 in a pack n play, can't imagine if we had all adult children. Oh, and the washer and dryer was shoved into a very small closet in between 2 doors (entering 2nd bedroom and bathroom). No early morning wash could be done. I had to wash all the sheets and comforters in the condo bc they smelled like they had been slept on for weeks. Drawers were broke, screws lose to hold knobs in, toilets kept running water the entire last night we were there. Balcony is teeny tiny but you could 'see' the Gulf, if anyone opened a door in the hallway of the complex every door in our unit would make a noise, the unlimited movies were a joke, not even a redbox and had graffiti all over it. I took a picture to prove it! Lady working checkout and checkin was very less than pleasant. Destin is a busy busy place, there was NO LIGHT AT OUR INTERSECTION. Getting out of the condo for dinner or shopping was a complete disaster. We never took the shuttle but the beach straight across from us flew a red flag our entire vacation due to bacteria from Pensacola to Okaloosa beach. Sad to say but I've always heard how great Destin was and due to all the people I know that go to Destin year after year we decided to give it a try. This condo alone has deterred us from ever coming back to Destin. I sincerely hope all RealJoy properties are not like this. If they are you should steer clear from spending thousands on their condos. A staycation would have been more of a vacation after this trip. Good Luck!

It probably would have been a good idea for you to have taken the shuttle instead of trying to navigate traffic. We are sorry to hear that an employee at the Palms was unfriendly to you at checkout. Overall nice stay

This 8th floor unit has been renovated as the pictures show. The indoor and balcony furniture could use a refresh. Water pressure is great, each unit have their own WiFi router 80Mbit down and 40Mbit up. There’s a full size washer / dryer we used each night. The kitchen was about 80% stocked for your needs. We bought and cooked in several nights there. Pool was never overly crowded. 3 elevators working so no long waits. Can’t recommend the onsite food options, tried it once and never again. We used the shuttle to the beach once, discovered it’s faster to just walk than wait. Destin is beautiful and worth a trip to see all it has to offer.

Great Time in Destin!

We really enjoyed our vacation in Destin! Condo was perfect for what we were looking for. Clean, comfortable with great views! Only downfall was that the property was in transition with no indoor dining at all due to coffee house renovations so that was disappointing. Pool was great and closeness to Henderson Beach State Park was perfect. Hallways could use an upgrade and we had to track down our codes for move-in as their systems were having issues but overall we really enjoyed our stay. Definitely recommend this specific condo!

The property overall was ok. The grounds and pool are well kept. For our family the only issue was the rental unit. It was tidy at first glance but then we noticed bugs in the kitchen and bathroom along with stains on the upper cabinets in the kitchen.

Would have been nice… if it was clean

I always check the beds and sheets. All of our sheets had sand in them and were clearly not laundered. I called property management and told them that we needed new sheets. We were leaving for dinner so I told them to just enter the condo and switch out the sheets. After dinner we came home to find all the new sheets piled up on the kitchen table and all the old sheets still on our bed. So, we started changing all the sheets. In the master we pulled off the mattress pad and underneath there was a giant urine stain on the mattress!! Clearly whoever changes the sheets had to of seen this and just covered it up with the mattress pad. I was totally disgusted but was trying to not make a big deal as to start our stay off on the wrong foot. We then realized they gave us the wrong size mattress pad and there was no way we were going to sleep without a barrier between us and the urine. We went to Walmart and bought a plastic mattress cover and put that down. We also then felt uncomfortable not washing the blankets so I was up until 1a doing laundry. That night it was like sleeping on plastic garbage bags! The next day I called and told management about the urine and they offered to send someone the following day to steam clean the mattress. I also told them we had a giant pile of dirty sheets they never picked up and that they brought us the wrong mattress pad. They did come and clean the mattress and pick up the sheets and bring us the correct size pad. Even through the mattress was then cleaned, we still did not feel comfortable sleeping without the plastic barrier so for our entire stay, we had to sleep on the crinkly mattress. Overall the condo was not clean. I found a lot of hair in the bathroom drawers (I mean a lot!!) and hair and dirt and food on the floor. Clearly the cleaning service is terrible and barely cleans at all. This condo could be very nice if cleaned properly and also if they just took a little more care in the property. Some of the smaller things: ice maker in fridge is broken and the ice maker they provide is a joke, hung up towel in the bathroom & the rack fell off the wall, no hairdryer, the sliding glass door was difficult to lock, the tub is super high, laundry is in 2nd bedroom (so if doing laundry, no one can sleep in there) owner left very limited paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, etc. spend $10 & leave guests with these amenities. I would not stay in this condo again mostly due to the DIRTY room!

Please accept our sincerest apology for the cleanliness of this unit upon your arrival and for the issue regarding the incorrect mattress topper that was originally left. The mattress was professionally cleaned on June 15th. We would have been more than happy to send someone to try and resolve the issues related to hair, sliding glass door and towel rack had we been made aware during your stay. As noted in the rental agreement, housekeeping provides only a certain amount (starters) of such items as paper towels, trash bags, dish detergent, and toilet paper. Guests must provide any other supplies needed during/for their stay. Thank you for your patience and for choosing Real Joy.
