INTERIOR DETAILS

This cozy cottage has a casual, beachy feel with vintage touches throughout. The original wooden floors and open layout give the home plenty of character, while the large kitchen makes it easy to gather for meals.

The kitchen offers quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a freestanding island, along with all the basics you’ll need to cook most meals at home.

The lounge is open and relaxed, with slipcovered sofa and armchairs, chandeliers for a touch of charm, a freestanding gas fireplace, and a Smart TV with YouTubeTV included.

Each of the two bedrooms features a queen bed with soft linens and down bedding to ensure a comfortable night’s sleep.

The bathroom, located between the bedrooms, has a vintage-style vanity, tub/shower combo, and simple tile finishes.

Exterior Details
A private wooden deck and surrounding palm trees create a laid-back outdoor space. The deck has a dining table with seating for six, umbrella for shade, barbecue patio, and ambient lighting for evenings outside.

This is a relaxed, lived-in beach cottage. Perfect for guests who appreciate comfort, charm, and an easygoing coastal vibe.

The cottage is located in the ideal location, one house away from the bay and a 2 min walk to the ocean. Close to many restaurants, bars, shopping but private enough to have your own space.


The property has parking for one small vehicle in a free standing garage. Free street parking is generally available 1-4 blocks from the property if you have a second car or if your car does not fit in the garage. There are maps in the information binder that can help you find parking.

Please note that on holidays and summer weekends, parking is difficult and you may have to park 5-8 blocks away if your car doesn't fit in the garage.

Everyone wants to be at the beach! :)

Air Conditioning is mini-split unit located in the main living area. With the use of fans, it keeps the cottage cool most of the year. It can still get hot during a heat wave.

FYI... Only about 1% of the properties in Mission Beach have central Air Conditioning.

Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Please wash any dishes you use during your stay. A few coffee cups are no problem, but please do not leave a full meal’s worth of dishes for our cleaners to handle.
Leave all used linens on the beds (This helps us spot any stains that need treatment)
Start a load of towels/bathmat in the washer (This small step makes a big difference!)
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

The location was great with access to bayfront & oceanfront sides of beach, house was great and had everything needed to enjoy stay. Our Prius car rental fit perfectly in garage space. Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Great spa right down the street. Host provided great area suggestions & was responded quickly to our inquiries.

Great Cottage!

Great rental option and we will be back. We loved the location and distance from the bay and beach. The house is fantastic with all the beach gear to save the day. My only small issues is that the pillows are very thin and not good for side sleepers oh well. Next time I’ll buy my own. Everything else was fantastic and we left happy.

Perfect Beach Bungalow

This was a beautifully refinished house inside which was perfect for the four of us. Very close to both Mission Bay and the ocean. The traffic noise was the only negative thing but not bad. We would definitely stay here again.

We’ve been going to Mission bay for years and years and we LOVE THIS PLACE! The location is perfect and has everything you need! Paddle board for the kids, well stocked kitchen and linens and just generally wonderful!! The patio is tropical and private and always shady!! We will be returning for sure!

Our trip to Pacific Beach exceeded all of our expectations starting with our accommodations. The cottage we stayed in was perfect.!! it was clean. It had everything we could possibly need for our temporary beach life we were experiencing.. I loved the privacy and we really liked how it was decorated with some of that old rustic vibe. The location was perfect as well.! Grocery store right down the street less than two minutes to get to the water which made it nice in case we had to run back to the pad for something we may have forgot. We were an absolute paradise in my opinion. Definitely would recommend to anybody.. we will be rebooking this exact same cottage next summer. It was sooooo nice! The kitchen was beautiful and very functional. Also, really glad we had a garage to park in,We had to rent a vehicle while we were there and I know parking in that area can be really difficult. At the end of the day, we were extremely grateful and happy with everything about staying at this property.

Great place to stay

This was a fantastic place to stay for our family of four. The bay was on the one side only a few steps away, and the beach was on the other side. The only “downside” is parking. There is a small garage, but our suv would not fit so we had to park on the street, which was fine but when the street sweepers came we had to move and then lost our spot. Minor detail, still a 5/5, would totally go back again.

The house was perfect for us. We went to Ralph’s and got groceries do we fix not need to go out for breakfast of lunch . We rented a kayak from the record next door and had a great time. And garage was tight but my car fit. Parking would have been difficult if thd house did not have a garage

Birthday Celebration at the Beach

The owner is awesome to work with and this cottage is adorable, comfortable and CLEAN!!! I loved the special touches such as fresh flowers, the chalk board at the door greeting us, and the chilled champagne. I loved how the house was decorated and it had everything we needed-oh, the fireplace, the private patio and bikes were a biggie for me too. My mom enjoyed her visit so much she is renting the cottage this year. I enjoyed it so much i wanted to eat in vs. go out for dinner.

Nice Getaway

We were visiting friends in San Diego recently and wanted to stay in the Mission Beach area. The cottage fit our needs well! So close to both the Bay and ocean beaches, as well as plenty of great dining options. The garage is small, but we were able to get our Jeep Grand Cherokee inside so had onsite parking, which was a plus. Very nicely appointed cottage with ample kitchen space, a nice sitting area, a cozy deck and two comfy beds. The only "downside" were the occassional morning deliveries to the nearby resort loading dock, otherwise a great stay and very recommended! Definitely would stay there again!

Beachy Cottage (Mission Beach)

Great location. Nice, historic (1930s I think) property near the beach- be prepared for some wear and tear ( bathroom in particular) which we’d expected given the vintage). Private patio area a bonus and very lovely. Beach toys were also much appreciated. Private garage is a godsend in Mission Beach. Beware that garage is small as the owners advertised. We downgraded the rental to a Nissan Versa which just fit with inches to spare, so nothing bigger than this model. Would stay again.

I love the whole process from demo through to interior decor and am hands on at every stage. Why they chose this property

I wanted this cottage at first sight. It had such 'lovely bones' and I was fortunate enough to be able to demo and then nurture into the most adorable place. It is located next door to our other vacation rental VRBO # 379170.
