Waterfront 2-bedroom modern cabin on 11+ acre estate on beautiful Beach Pond
This very comfortable 2 bedroom, 2 bath cabin with a great room with a full kitchen and a 12' x 24' screen porch is lakeside on Beach Pond in Voluntown, CT. It is one of two winterized cabins available for rent at this 11+ acre private lakefront estate. The kitchen has a full sized refrigerator with ice maker, gas range, dishwasher, and microwave, and is fully stocked for cooking including a coffee pot and toaster. The screen porch has a table with 6 comfortable chairs as well as a nice seating area with a sofa, loveseat, and chair. The master bedroom features a king bed and a 42" TV, and a private bath with a 5' shower,double sinks, and a tile floor. The great room includes the kitchen, a dining area with seating for 8, and a living room area with a pull-out couch, a pull-out loveseat, an electric recliner, a rocking chair, and a 55" TV. The second bedroom features 2 queen beds and a tandem door to the second bath which also has a 5' shower, double sinks, and a washer/dryer. A wood fired sauna and sauna deck are just across an open, grassed, and lightly treed field from this cabin, right at the water's edge, and available to use. A dock for fishing boats is available. 2 canoes, 4 kayaks, 1 double kayak, and 2 paddleboards are on the property and available for use along with life preservers. There are several firepits to choose from for a fire. Up to two dogs are permitted for an additional fee of $75/dog.
Fishing is year round at Beach Pond with both RI and CT stocking trout and salmon. Pachaug Forest is just outside the property boundaries with many trails for walking and biking. Eagles, Osprey, and deer are often spotted.
It is hard to leave the peace and tranquility of this large private lakefront property, but if you do there are many options. We are within 30 - 35 minutes to the Mohegan Sun Casino, Foxwoods, Casino, Mystic, Stonington Borough, and Wickford and Westerly, Ri, within 40 minutes to Narragansette, Point Judith, Jamestown, and Providence, RI as well as the RI beaches and the high speed ferry to Martha's Vineyard and downtown Newport is an hour away.
All linens and towels are quality 100% cotton, helping to make it easy to get a good's night sleep.

Our family has always been in the Connecticut area and was a part owner in this property for over 40 years before recently becoming the sole owners. We love being here and enjoying all the wonderful amenities of being lakefront at Beach Pond. We decided to host because it is such a big, beautiful property with lots of room that we are often not using ourselves. When we are not here, we do enjoy hiking, biking, snowboarding, and skiing.
Why they chose this property
Beach Pond is a very unique lake in Eastern Connecticut as it is bordered along one side by Pachaug State Forest and is all woods with lovely trails along its shoreline and into the forest where it borders the lake. It is known as a very clean lake and is both spring and stream fed. Beach Pond is also known for it's fishing and is stocked with trout and salmon by both CT and RI. It is 459 acres and 65 feet deep. Our road ends 1/3 mile past our driveway with a public boat launch for Beach Pond. It is very quiet and peaceful here yet close to many RI and CT destinations.
We are only 40 minutes from Providence and 1 hour from Hartford making this an easy get away.

What makes this property unique
Our cabin is on 11+ private acres with over 1000+ feet of water frontage. Much of the property is grassed with trees and open grassed areas including a large field. There are seven cabins along a long gravel driveway, but only two are winterized, the first and last cabins so they are very separate from each other. There is also a year round house at the very end of the driveway which is often occupied by the owners. The sauna building has a beautiful cedar sauna with seating for 8. There is a large open porch/deck area on the lakeside of the sauna building with plenty of room for sitting, sunning, and having campfires. The sandy beach that gradually deepens is the perfect place to start a kayak or canoe ride.
