Beautiful property, quiet and peaceful. Just what I was looking for. Ian was wonderful to deal with. Well organized instructions throughtout the cottage was very helpful with assisting us in our new environment. I would absolutely enjoy staying here again.
Great second stay at the Spence cottage. Kids had a blast on the water crafts. The a/c unit was a nice touch on those extra hot days. Thanks for the excellent accommodations!
Beautiful house in nice calm bay. Good location on lake. Nice dock and easy walk down hill to lake. Plenty of outside seating. Everything thing was there that was needed. Plan on returning again next year.
We really enjoyed are week at the cottage, everything was perfect/clean. The fishing wasn’t the best but we managed a fish fry. Thanks to Ian/Shelly for being a wonderful host. Al/Robin
The cottage was beautiful and had all the amenities you could think off. The rooms were very comfortable and over all cleanliness was excellent. The cottage had several seating areas around the deck and around the fire pit as well as by the beach and dock. It was very relaxing and the fishing was excellent. Highly recommend the Spence cottage for your next holdiay.
My husband and I were looking for a scenic spot to unwind for a few days, and found it at the Spence's cottage at Bob's Lake. The cottage was very comfortable and has a great backyard with lake views/access with lots of seating areas. Canoeing on the lake was also a big plus as ithe lake is big enough to keep it interesting. It was a nice and hassle-free experience!
We loved everything about the cottage. The gardens were lovely, the TV got all the Blue Jay games, the fire pit was great, the beds were comfy, - the hot tub was perfect, the lake was quiet, minimal crazy boats, we saw lots of wildlife while kayaking. Beaver, deer, mink, heron, sparely, muscat and four lions. Can we book now for next year?Peggy Bennwtt
We had an amazing week at the cottage. Everything is well thought out to make your stay simple and easy. The tiered landscape provided multiple seating opportunities with great views of the lake. The lake was so peaceful and quiet making it the perfect location to relax. The cottage had all the amenities of being at home so an indoor rainy day was just as much fun as being outside. We would absolutely book again.
Beautiful accommodations on a cove in Mud Bay, on Bob's Lake. Very modern cottage with all the amenities we needed. Plenty of seating inside and out. Had no problem getting to the property. We've been coming to Bob's Lake for over 40 years, and this was the nicest cottage we've stayed. InsideLovely full window views of the back yard/lake. Large TV with good, stable internet. Never had any outage and never had buffering/tiling. Comfortable Living room, dining table and kitchen was well equipped with all appliances we needed. Small portable A/C unit worked for us, though we only used it a couple hours in the week, as the outside temp never went above 77F/25C. Excellent window screens and we kept cool mostly with airflow from the screened doors/windows.Bedrooms and bath were clean and fresh. Shower was clean and had ample water pressure.Outstanding lighting options inside and out.OutsidePlenty of areas to sit/relax. Although we did not use, plenty of firewood stocked on site, and firepit. Also a small hot tub (we did not use). Canoe/kayaks available, as well. Dock was well protected with boat bumpers. A nice, new wrap around deck, with lots of seating, and an outside dining table. Deck was so new and sealed that we could use the squeegee there to dry it off.Easy to get to either Sharbot lake or Westport for supplies. Excellent communication from the host, and were very responsive. Would not hesitate to come back to this cottage again. Gas grill.
This place is amazing. It's private, quiet, and beautiful. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly. The place is well maintained and clean. The view is stunning, and there are so many places to enjoy it from. We enjoyed the kayaks, fire pit, and BBQ. And we saw so much wildlife, including a resident loon and a couple beavers, foxes, and of course the bullfrog who croaked several times a day! I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone, and would love to go back! Thanks for everything Ian!
We have rented this property 3 years now, and it has always been excellent. The property is well maintained and well supplied. The location is easy to get to, and has great boating and fishing. Our weather wasn't the best this year, but it didn't matter because they have a great selection of DVDs to keep you entertained.
The cottage has a fantastic view of the lake and a great deck to sit and enjoy it from. The inside was great for our family of 3. Everything was very clean.
Ian was a fantastic host and was very quick to respond on any questions we had.
We thoroughly enjoyed this property. A great place, on a great lake. We've rented many places in many locations over the years, and this one was one of the best. It is in very good shape, and well supplied.
The cottage was spotless, well equipped...love the cathedral ceiling and picture windows from which we could enjoy that spectacular view of the lake. The deck and many sitting areas were great for relaxing while again taking in the view. We appreciated the peace and quiet, also the privacy.
We enjoyed exploring the lake by kayak and our motor boat...the lake is huge, goes on for miles with many inlets and islands. Stopped for an occasional swim along the way. Enjoyed evenings around the campfire and playing cards. Visited Shabot Lake, had a nice dinner at The Maples restaurant. We had a wonderful week, Thank you Ian for making the process of renting so simple and for sharing such a lovely place with us. Ruth and Kevin
Been renting for 30 years to fish and relax on a lake in Canada...one of the best we’ve had!

Great, relaxing getaway
A wonderful, quiet getaway. Cottage is immaculate, comfortable and well-stocked. The property is very private, with nice gardens and a wonderful view over a bay on the lake. Our family with two teens and a dog had a great time with the kayaks/canoe, enjoying the many relaxing sitting areas, watching the wildlife, reading, watching movies, driving out to nearby towns, etc. A fantastic, relaxing place for a week away from it all.
