Cool Barn renovation with views. 5 mins to hikes, restaurants, fishing and more!
Experience the Manchester area and all it has to offer in our converted barn on 6+ acres. Enjoy the mountain views or walk to Manchester Village. Scenic walks are available nearby. Find great hiking in drives as short as five minutes. Get on the slopes quickly at Bromley, Stratton and Magic Mountain. Mt Snow, Okemo and Killington are all close enough for day skiing. Check out cross-country skiing at Hildene or travel to Wild Wings in Peru and Prospect Mountain in Bennington. Cast your pole at the river down the street. Walk to Equinox for a cocktail around the outdoor fireplace or to the Taconic Hotel to grab a fantastic burger at the Copper Grouse. Walk up the street and treat yourself to one of the area's best meals at The Silver Fork.
Attending a wedding at the Equinox, Ekwanok Country Club, or Hildene? Our property is around the corner from the Equinox and across the street from the Ekwanok. We are a few miles from Hildene.
This converted barn, now a two-story apartment, is framed inside by the barn's original beams. Furnished thoughtfully, guests will encounter vintage rustic and industrial pieces complimented by new and antique mid-century touches. It is a perfect spot for a couple or two friends.
The first floor offers a soaring two-story ceiling, windows from floor to ceiling, and vibrant sunlight. A great room, the first floor has comfortable living and dining spaces, with a small kitchen.
Climb the steps to the very large loft bedroom and find a king bed, a seating nook for reading, a desk for working, a wardrobe, and a dresser. A small, updated, and functional bathroom sits off the master bedroom.
Enjoy multiple seating areas outside including s'mores around the Breeo smokeless wood fire pit.
Please note that the barn shares the 6+ acres with the main house. We may be staying in the house or have renters in the home during your stay. The barn is set off from the house and the property is such that you may never see people that are staying in the house.
We love children (we have four) but we are not comfortable with children under 12 staying in the apartment due to the loft bedroom. If you have children and are looking for a place to stay, please consider our 3-bedroom house. If you're hoping to stay with a larger group, we offer the house and barn for rent together.
Also, please note that per the description there is only one bathroom and it is on the second floor, and that we do NOT have air conditioning in the barn. This property also only accommodates two people.

We had a lovely trip! The renovations on this barn are beautiful and stylish. It was well-stocked, easy to navigate, and very comfortable. The bedding was absolutely luxurious. Big king size bed with pillows and comforters galore.
Lovely peaceful place. The barn restoration is amazing with much care and love put into preserving the look and feel while adding modern amenities. Had deer in the morning out in the big pasture behind the barn. Beautiful views of the mountains. Yet nearby to downtown Manchester. Just idyliic.
Everything! The barn was beautiful. The snow was beautiful. Manchester is beautiful. It really was a perfect get away. Highly recommended. Actually about the host the power went out one night, briefly, because of local utility work. I contacted the owner. They responded right away with information and actually offered us another place to stay on the same property in case the problem wasn’t resolved. We will seek this space out for another season.
This place was in a wonderful location, very clean and was everything it had shown it would be and more! Would highly recommend to anyone thinking about renting this place!

The barn is beautiful and much more spacious than it looks in the photos. The property the barn is on is also beautiful, a short drive from the town center, and also close to cool sites to visit like the Lincoln House and many amazing hiking trains.
It is always with mixed emotions that I write a review for a property I really loved... like this one... because I may never be able to book it again! This barn is the perfect Vermont get-away for a couple who wants to visit the Manchester area. Centrally located to great restaurants, shopping and all the winter activities we love... cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing (at Wild Wings in Peru), & winter hiking, down hill skiing at Bromley, Stratton and Magic Mountain are less than 1/2 an hour away! Though it is a renovated barn, there is nothing rustic about the space which is warm and inviting and beautifully decorated. The check in couldn't have been easier and the landlords were warm and responsive to our questions. The king size bed in the loft bedroom was very difficult to get out of in the morning! We can't wait to come back in the summer and use this space as a base for some cycling adventures
We absolutely loved our stay. It was quiet and peaceful with lovely sound of a brook right outside the window. The location was perfect to town, trails and Hildene House. The Barn was beautifully decorated and well equipped - from kitchen to blankets to games. We wished we had booked it for longer, but have already been telling people to stay here…and it hasn’t even been 24 hours!

Great place. Highly recommend to rent this beautiful place
Loved staying here. Close to everything in Manchester. Enjoyed the view and the furnishings were great. It felt like I decorated it and it was bright vs some other rentals that seemed like a camp (dark and not comfy furnishings)

The Barn is one of the best STR we have ever stayed at. Perfect for a couple, room enough to spread out. Very tasteful decor and great amenities. Area activities to check out; So Vt Arts Center, Hildene, and a little more of a drive Robert Frost Stone House in Bennington and King Arthur Flour (flagship stire) in Norwich. Favorite restaurant Silver Fork (IMHO one of the best restaurants in New England and the Restaurant at Hill Farm has the best pizza.

What makes this property unique
We love the Manchester area throughout the year. There is so much to do in the area. We love the outdoors. There is also a really neat cultural scene in southern Vermont.
