Lovely spacious and well kept property and very helpful friendly hosts. Well equipped kitchen for cooking and relaxing in the evening, and the big, warm, clean pool was a great hit with all. We had a great stay and would not hesitate to return if visiting the region again.

A lovely property and location. The property is attached but there is complete privacy. The bedrooms are all well laid out and furnished. It looks close to the main road on the aerial view but you really don't notice it at all once you are there.Everything works as you'd expect including the wifi. The saltwater pool was superb, although a little tricky to keep tree debris out of.The local towns of Saint Jean d'angely and Saint Savinien are lovely and La Rochelle and Ile de re are only an 1hrs drive.

The property was really comfortable, even though we had 40c the week we were there. The pool was plenty big enough for a family of 6 and we used it everyday. Kitchen facilities and equipment we're very good which meant we didn't have to go searching for restaurants. Shops locally like Le Cleric had everything you could possibly need. A little more info on places to visit would be useful but did find some really interesting things through the Internet. COGNAC Frapin had an interesting tour and tasting, and the journey there took you through the vineyards and fascinating villages of the area. Highly recommend it.

A lovely spacious house, beautifully furnished and with all the home comforts you could wish for. It’s on the edge of a small hamlet and was peaceful, with very little passing traffic. The heated pool was glorious, even on the days when it was cool and cloudy, although because the garden was so dry and there was often quite a strong breeze, garden debris did end up in the pool and was difficult to clear with the net provided. The water remained beautifully clear though and the pool was still useable. Our favourite days out were Ile de Ré and La Rochelle, both beautiful places to visit. We also happened upon a fabulous little restaurant only a 5 minute drive from the gite in Migré, called ‘Les Sources du Moulin de Migré’. Would highly recommend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Lozay. Thank you Jayne and Paul for creating such a lovely home.

Beautiful house, fantastic pool, perfect stay

We had an absolutely fantastic time staying at this beautiful property, everything was just as good as we’d hoped and with the fantastic weather we really couldn’t have asked for more. Check in process etc was all seamless and very helpful instructions left to help us using the appliances. Thank you Jayne and Paul!

Sublime Beauty

We had the most wonderful time unwinding in this idyllic gem. The pool and garden are sumptuous complete with magical humming bird moths on the lavender. The inside is decorated in a very chic but comfortable way and the bedrooms are relaxing and cool. We would love to revisit.

Pearl

What a beautiful and spacious house! Everything you need is there. Paul and Jayne are very welcoming and always available for questions. Everything was very clean. Nice beds made on arrival, plenty of towels. Wonderful pool, which provided cooling on hot days. For those who do not like to sit in the sun, there is plenty of shade in the beautiful spacious garden. Quiet location but at 4km there is a bakery and at 15 km there are several department stores where you can find everything. St Jean d'Angély is a very nice town with good restaurants and a beautiful market on Wednesday and Saturday. We would definitely go back.

A hidden gem!

This is a beautiful place! Peter and Jayne are outstanding hosts, who had regular conversations with us, ensuring we had all we needed for our holiday. They kindly left a lovely basket of goodies which were very much appreciated by us all. With 4 good size bedrooms, there is plenty of space for a family, beds are soft and comfortable, and bathrooms more than enough for the accommodation. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped with everything you could need, and the living area is very spacious. The house is beautifully maintained as well as the gardens, and the heated pool is an absolute joy to have. We had nothing to do but enjoy it, and had the pleasure of seeing our granddaughter learn to swim. If we could give 10 stars we would, and highly recommend this property. Already hoping for a return trip ourselves!

Peaceful and relaxing

Lovely and charming property in a remote and rural location. A car is a must with easy access to lots of interesting places....a welcome, peaceful retreat after some busy days! Pool was a lovely addition and the hosts were super responsive! Both the adults and kids had a lovely stay and the weather was great too, not that this can be controlled by the hosts :) but it meant we got the full benefit of the garden and pool.

One of the most beautiful places I have visited

I visited this wonderful villa in June 2015 with my son, aged 8.This is the third time I have visited and stayed. It truly is a wonderful home with a great pool and with wi-fi is perfect for young children. It has an ideal location and from this area you can visit many of the surrounding areas, such as Santes,La Rochelle and St Jean, the closest town is so pretty and has everything you would expect from a small French town. The Garden is a lovely space to sit and relax, listening to the birds and church bells. It is both private and quiet. There are some lovely walks you can take from the house, my personal favourite is to the roman ruins where, you can see great roman structures up close and for free. You can take a picnic and have a great day out. The house is charming, very clean and has all the facilities you need for a great holiday.I would highly recommend this property and place to anyone.

This is is the second time my husband, daughter and I have stayed at this beautiful property and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Set within a picturesque location and a stones throw away from breathtaking sunflower fields you could not ask for more pleasing, tranquil and relaxing surroundings. The house itself as well as being beautiful, is spacious, well maintained, clean and has excellent facilities. There is plenty to do in the surrounding areas with many wonderful sandy beaches and lively towns within a 30 minute drive from the house. Our personal favourite towns and beaches to visit are situated in Royan, La Rochelle and Ile de Re. However, we would spend many a day at the house as it has everything you need and is such a lovely place to relax and enjoy your precious holiday time. We particularly love the luxury of having our own pool which is large and well maintained and kept our daughter entertained for hours on end! The customer service we received from the owner was second to none and nothing was to much trouble. We cannot recommend this property enough and are planning our visit for next year already!

The Price-Timmins family

Upon arrival, we were blown away by the beautiful house and its Charente surroundings. The house itself, is tastefully decorated to a high standard without losing any originality on its period charms. We all felt instanlty at home and very quickley, we were relaxed, sitting by the pool enjoying a glass of wine for the adults and juice for the children. The children indulged themselves playing in the pool for most of the day while we adults were able to keep a keen eye, eat and have fun too. The location is so peaceful and we all took time under the stunning cherry tree mid day, reading our books, listening to the local church bells, chime the time. The evenings were mostly spent at the house but we did venture to La Rochelle and other gorgeous local towns where the restaurants and local shops were just fab!! We are booking again next year and making this a regualr annual peace of paradise!!

Fun and relaxing

My wife and I spent two weeks in August 2013 with our three sons, 11, 13 and 16. remarkably, we were never moaned at because they were bored or hungry! With nearby supermarkets and lovely local shops sitting on the patio with a constant supply of breads and pastries was our and obviously our children's ideal. Between fun in the lovely pool, cycle rides, beach visits, badminton and of course football the boys were always fed, watered and entertained! We drove to Calais and then down to Lozay, which many people wouldn't think about with children, but if you make the journey part of your holiday, take your time and embrace it, it really can be a fun part of the vacation. We have, and intend on doing it much more. The beautiful house is well positioned and there is enough around you to keep you entertained, while being idyllic enough to help you relax and unwind from our real life's!!

Les Rosiers

Easter 2013 and 2014 we visited the beautiful house of Les Rosiers with our family and grandchildren. It has everything you need for a good relaxing holiday. We while away the hours in the tranquil garden and excellent pool area with a good read or laze in the pool with nothing to disturb us (The 12th Century Church with Bell Tower lets us know when it is time for lunch. We use the local village of Loulay just 5 mins away for delicious fresh bread and croissants. (it also has a good Pizzerria). If we feel more energetic we take a walk or cycle to the local Roman Ruins in the surrounding country side or a short evening stroll to the Roman Lavoir. We love to dine out from time to time and have found all the local restaurants v good. When we can coax the children from the pool and garden just 40 mins away we love to visit the beautiful clean safe beaches of Chatellaillon Plage a great favourite of ours and the children. Great Casino and Restaurants. Another favourite is Fouras with its amazing wide sweeping beach, boat trips to Fort Boyard and good fish restaurants. The bustling port of La Rochelle we visit late afternoon to evening to browse around the many artisan stalls enjoy the street theatre and of course the restaurants. We also like to visit the waterways at Venice Vert and the beautiful city of Cognac and of course the winery. Saintes is another great place we have visited with its beautifully kept Roman Amphitheatre Last but not least no stay for us is complete until we have visited the wonderful island of Il de Re. We dare you not to like it. Set aside all the wonderful things we do on our holiday, either relaxing or visiting. For us the house with its clean, spacious, tastefully furnished rooms, beautiful garden and pool with its welcoming atmosphere is the icing on the cake.

First Experience in Lozay

This was my first visit to this wonderful family home. I had my son of six years old with me and there was also my friend and her two children. The place was lovely and the private swimming pool plus outside area gave the children lots of space to play plus the pool was very clean and had a safety platform all around the outside edge of the pool which gave the young children security whilst swimming. It is a peaceful, relaxing and special place to visit. the memories I have of this holiday are truly special. It is also situated in an area that makes it easy to get to other places to visit. There is a a beautiful views of sun flowers from many of the surrounding fields with roman ruins within 20 minutes walking distance. Cannot speak highly enough of this property and all it has to offer.

Wonderful and peaceful

We went on holiday with another family We were 4 adults and 3 children and were amazed at the price we paid for such a wonderful house! The pool kept the children entertained while the adults sat around the patio or under the lovely fruit trees drinking coffee and discussing when and what to eat next! The surrounding area has plenty to do and lots of places to eat. But we loved the house so much we often cooked or had a BBQ . We are already looking for dates for next year.

An amazing holiday house in the Charente

Following arrival at La Rochelle airport ( a magnificent trip of only one hour's flight form London, Stanstead), we were greeted to the most beautiful array of lavender amidst the welcome site of this stunning country house. It is nestled within a small village and amongst the rolling hills and blue sky's of Lozay. The house was perfect for our family holiday and we were able to muse ourselves by the pool or go for trips to La Rochelle and regular visits to St Jean d'Angely where we enjoyed some wonderful local cuisine. Les Rosiers, supplied everything we required as well as having a relaxed and stylish ambiance, we enjoyed quiet evenings in the large living room or outside by the pool, with plenty of space for our children aged 4 and 11. This is real find and we are planning to be regular visitors!!

Lozay

This is the second time I have visited Lozay and stayed at this property. It is a beautiful home with private pool and garden area. The atmosphere is perfect and very relaxing. I have a young son of seven years old who loved swimming every day. It is a a lovely place for children and the property has great facilities for cooking, dining both indoors and out whilst also having facilities for relaxing, playing games, reading and watching the odd film or two when wanting to stay in. The local church bells ringing in the day make the place so serene. It is also situated in a position to visit many other places, such as La Rochelle, Santes and St Jean D'angley to name but a few by car. There is also a beautiful walk to the roman ruins if you are interested in historical sites. I enjoyed my holiday tremendously and would highly recommend this holiday home and all it has to offer.
