This 1 bedroom, 1 bath Craftsman-style guest house is on a unique 5-acre marsh front property with a private pier to a deck and kayak dock. The unrivaled views of the coastal wetlands along Montgomery Slough, plentiful wildlife and remarkable sunsets will leave you wanting to come back year after year.

This vacation get-away is unlike any other on Oak Island. Among the many features of the open floor plan are a fully-stocked gourmet kitchen w/ stainless steel appliances and granite countertops, central A/C, cable TV, a 51" flat screen HDTV, and wireless internet. Full-size stacked washer/dryer, H/C outdoor shower with changing area, covered entry, carport for 1 car, ground-level storage and patio w/gas grill. Linens, towels and departure cleaning provided. Kayaks, bicycles and beach chairs are included for your pleasure.

A wonderful couple's retreat and a perfect setting for birders and wildlife enthusiasts. It's just a five-minute walk to the beach to enjoy a day in the sun. Relax on the private deck overlooking the wetlands and take in some bird watching - more than 200 species of birds inhabit the island each summer. Take a peaceful kayak paddle off our dock or a bike ride around the island. Treat yourself to a round of golf at the Oak Island Country Club. It's a short walk to Ocean Crest Pier or to Island Way Restaurant for oceanfront dining. Drive to nearby Southport and ride the ferry to Bald Head Island or historic Ft. Fisher. Wilmington is less than an hour's drive away.

At least one day, take the time to go to the beach to watch the sun set in the West before you come back to the guest house to relax and plan your tomorrow. Step outside and find a constellation or two or three.

Wonderful property

A great location. Very private, peaceful and lovely views. Yet the ocean is only a few minutes walk. The property is immaculate and cleverly designed to avoid any overlooking. Light, airy and extremely comfortable. Fitted with all that we needed and exactly as described. Highly recommended.

Peaceful retreat

My husband and I had a truly great stay. Gerry was a wonderful host! The place was beautiful with incredible views of the river. It was quiet, peaceful, very close to the beach, great location...we did not want to leave. I can't say enough good things! Thank you, Gerry! Looking forward to next time.

Peace and Tranquility

What a perfect beach house. Great location. It is beautifully decorated and cozy. So many thoughtful details, including a bottle of wine welcoming us to the beach. Our host, Gerry, was awesome. He stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed. He was very personable but extremely respectful to our privacy. We can’t wait to come back and stay here.

Great reprieve!

Great getaway. LOVED the view of the marsh area and we were still very close to the beach - a short walk. Nice to have the kayaks - should have used them more - next time. We could enjoy a view of the sunset from the back deck. It was a perfect layout for a couple and a well stocked kitchen. Host was very responsive. We hope to be back! Wonderful Experience

The guest house and the location were both absolutely amazing. The guest house was spotless and fully equipped with anything you could possibly need. The view from the large inside windows and outside deck was incredible. We really enjoyed watching and listening to all the birds. Gerry was a great host, and the level of communication was perfect. We would love to stay again another time.

This will be my fourth year as owner of a wonderful guest house on Oak Island, North Carolina. Growing up near the ocean with the sounds of the sea birds, the roar of the waves crashing on the beaches, and the clear night sky filled with so many stars, I consider myself fortunate to be able to enjoy them all again.
