Character and history abound in this utterly charming duplex furnished apartment, in metro Boston near Logan Airport. Awarded for outstanding achievement in historic preservation, the apartment has been completely renovated with loving care, incorporating architectural details and décor that hark back to the building’s rich history as a firehouse. The rooms are chock full of nooks and crannies and charm galore. The gleaming hardwood floors and 11 foot ceilings give an airy, spacious feel as a family friendly vacation rental for Boston visitors. The open concept first floor features a fully equipped kitchen with beautiful wood cabinets and a living room area with flat screen TV and desk area perfect for computer time. There is also a ½ bath and a full bed in a corner away from the living room area. The second floor has two bedrooms with queen beds and a full bath WITH CLAW FOOT TUB AND SHOWER. Central air keeps you comfortable in summer, and environmentalists will appreciate the solar heated water and eco-friendly products. Located close to biking and hiking trails, playgrounds and state parks (bike storage provided). 4 blocks to the bus or 20 minute walk to public transit, or drive and park to another metro in 10-15 minutes. All take you Boston’s historic sites, Tufts University and MIT. History buffs will delight. (NOTE: STAIRS TO BEDROOMS A LITTLE STEEP.) Off street parking for one car, must be reserved. We loved our stay at Chez Fuego. What a unique rental property! It was just as described and had more than enough room for our family of four. A great location for exploring both Salem and Boston. Salem was an easy drive and the nearby train station was easy to access for a day trip into Boston. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, the beds were very comfortable and I enjoyed sitting out on the deck area to drink tea in the morning. Jon was very communicative with arrival and departure instructions and took the time to show us around and share some history of the restoration with us. We would love to stay again if we were in the area!

What a great stay in a little piece of history. The fire house, Chez Fuego, was cute and comfortable. The location was convenient to Boston and other areas by train or car. The neighborhood was quiet, walkable and we felt very safe. The stairs leading to the upstairs full bath and two bedrooms are a bit steep, so if you have mobility concerns, this one may not be for you. BUT, if you don’t, I highly recommend this wonderful home. The owners are very gracious and were always a phone call or text away if we needed anything.

What a fun and unique apartment to stay in with combined family. Everyone had their own space and could gather in a central space if desired! Loved the idea of it being a restored firehouse-preservation of these are so important!Location was great for traveling to Boston and Salem. Public transportation in Boston is easy to maneuver and get around with!!Jon was easily accessible as a host which made the entire stay very comfortable!Would definitely recommend-and will stay there again in if we ever get back that way!

We loved our stay at this restored fire house! The space feels incredibly spacious and comfortable and everything was clean and welcoming. It was fun to see all the vintage details throughout and there were great books and games for entertainment. The AC worked well and it was great to have a washer and dryer. We enjoyed the little back porch as well and saw some good sunset views. The hosts were very friendly, communicative, and super helpful when we had some changes to our travel plans and other questions.

Amazing property. Probably the favorite VRBO I've stayed in

Absolutely loved the property. It's a few miles out of the downtown area, but it's worth it. It's like staying in a museum of a 19th century firehouse. Everything is in perfect condition and modern yet classic looking. Very well equipped in general. Great communication. Highly recommended
