We've just had a fantastic week at Maison Rossignol, with the highlight definitely being the amazing pool. The house itself is in a great (and quiet) location with stunning views across the fields. It's a good size and the kitchen and bathrooms have obviously been recently refurbished - they're great, as is the master bedroom. Communications with David could not have been better. He's one of the most responsive, proactive and helpful hosts we've ever come across (thank you!).There's not really anything right on the doorstep so everything is at least a short drive, but there's plenty to do and see within easy reach. The Super U at Mirambeau is very handy, although beware, it closes at 7.30pm and they won't let you in after 7.15pm (as we found on the night we arrived!).The house stayed lovely and cool without any aircon, despite it being 32C for much of the week.As mentioned in other reviews and by the hosts, it's a rural property so you will be exposed to the local wildlife. The mosquitoes weren't as bad as we expected, but the crickets were a nightly distraction - be prepared to remove a LOT of them every night if the weather is hot and dry. That's really the only thing we won't miss though, everything else was wonderful. Our only 'could be better' is that the property feels like it needs a proper clean and maybe a bit of extra tlc. It's not a cheap stay, so we maybe expected to find less spider webs and dead crickets, but this didn't detract from our enjoyment.
