Host was excellent with communication. We had an issue with one of the pull out single beds which was resolved quickly by the host. Would definitely recommend and the access to the North Lakes Spa was a highlight for our trip!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay from entrance to exit, it really will be one of the most unforgettable memories.
Beautiful property, very well equipped. Very helpful and friendly host. Added bonus to be able to use the spa at hotel in Penrith. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful get away.
Lovely apartment …a bit quirky with the secret doorway to the rest of the apartment. Sympathetically done up in keeping with the rest of the building but nice modern bathroom and kitchen. Kitchen had everything you would need and more. Electric shower was helpful and plenty hot water rest of the time. We enjoyed looking out the big bay window while we ate and watching the bunnies playing and the odd red squirrel. Also nice grounds to sit in when weather good. Conveniently located just off the M6 but easy to get to the Yorkshire dales or the Lake District. Would thoroughly recommend this place.
Loved this atmospheric old house. Everything was spotless with comfy beds and plenty of books and DVDs. Great to be able to walk to the village for food and exploration.
Hotel pool (20 mins away) was okay. Note that it's mostly very deep (apart from a paddling pool) so not so suitable if you have under 8s that aren't confident swimmers.

This is a beautiful property and in a great location for country walks right on the doorstep. We have everything we needed, kitchen well equipped, comfortable furniture and quirky features. We have stayed here a few times before and would love to go back again. A real gem.
Absolutely stunning building with everything we needed! Kitchen was very well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. The fact that most of the apartment was hidden behind a bookcase was the icing on the cake. An absolutely magical place!
Beautiful place and location, very cosy and peaceful. Loved watching the rabbits frolicking, playing pool and chess in the communal area. A very special place indeed.
Stunning accommodation in a beautiful setting. We had an amazing, relaxing time at the Royalist suite. Great location to explore nearby towns. Access to the spa is a great bonus, though very busy in the afternoon. Wish we could have stayed longer, will be back for sure! Stephanie was a great host.
Lovely, unique accommodation in a pleasant village. Easy access to M6 and routes to Kendal and other Lake District areas. Communal zone inside Orton Hall is stunning, as are its gardens.

Lovely property, nice to see the Red Squirrels. Very scenic, nice and quiet with a lovely local pub and shop. Enjoyed our stay.
We stayed as a family and my daughter loved the bookcase door. The property has all the comforts and amenities that you need and really enjoyed the history of the place. we wish we were there longer as it's lovely base in Lake District.
We spent two nights here while we explored the Lake District. It was lovely and cozy - a well appointed place for us to return to every evening. The bed is divine!!
Our second time here, and even more lovely to be back after a few years of not being able to make it. Orton is a lovely little village, with a great pub (The George), and other amenities. We had a great time.

Staying here was the highlight of our trip, especially for our two daughters. They were enchanted by the breathtaking grounds and they particularly loved the secret book case and all the games, books and movies available. We'll definitely be back.
Lovely environment, and beautiful gardens. Very well located for travel to surrounding areas of interest. Had everything we needed and enjoyed walking the bridle paths. The George Hotel great for dinner. Just make sure you have change for the washer and dryer if you need them!
Our 2nd time here and did not disappoint again. We love this place, it has so much character. Great location and always quiet. We will definitely see you again soon. Thanks
