Myself and group loved staying in the cabin. Grilling after going to nearby hikes was perfect. Definitely coming back again. Hosts were extremely responsive and quick to answer any questions!

There really isn't a better place to stay. Shasta Lakeshore Retreats really are the best cabins in the best location. I'll choose these retreats any time I visit Shasta!

Gorgeous views

This place was amazing. It had all amenities. Extra cots and blow up mattresses, plenty of towels and bedding, speakers for music, kayaks and paddle boards. Views from every room and a nice welcoming package. I would definitely stay here again. Recommended for large groups.

Wonderful, Beautiful, but most of all relaxing

Perfect lake house

We stayed at Lakeshore Retreat #2 and could not be happier. The house was clean and exactly as described in the listing. The owners were very responsive to the couple questions we had to make sure our trip was as nice as could be even with the rare mid May rains. Would definitely return. Annual Trip

Yet another amazing trip and house by Shasta Lakeshore Retreat - we stayed in a new house this year and we were thrilled! Loved the location of this one, the layout for our group and with our boat. It fit the group perfectly, we can't wait to come back very soon! We have this same trip every summer with the same families and it is fabulous to be able to work with such wonderful people like Dave & Lori, who care about their guests and quickly respond and take care of anything that comes up during booking or your stay! We appreciate all of your assistance in booking and during our visits, and can't wait to come back again very soon for our Fall trip this year!

Beautiful, Relaxing & Convenient

We had a very positive overall experience. Owners were very pleasant to deal with and always in touch, they provided very detailed and complete instructions. Location is perfect, near Dunsmuir, not too far from Redding, and right smack dab on the Shasta Lake. We enjoyed our stay very much. Kitchen was well equipped, hot tub looked very well maintained, bathrooms were clean and well stocked. There is actually so much to do in the area, we barely spent any time at the house. We would definitely rent again in the future.

Serenity at the lake!

Lori and Dave were great with communication from booking throughout our stay. Very thorough guest book was quite helpful. The property worked well for our two small dogs with fencing in the front yard (read - you can stand at the door on a cold morning and watch them without having to actually go outside) and they LOVED the trail down to the lake - so many smells to smell!! The house is well equipped, appreciated the laundry access, firewood and plenty of space for all to ‘zoom’ without having to hear each other. While the lake may be down in the winter - this is still truly lakeside and BEAUTIFUL- stars galore at night, mist rising off the lake in the morning. We will definitely be back! A few notes: Bring Kleenex (if you want them) - plenty of TP otherwise. The colander is red and hiding in the stack of red mixing bowls : ) The downstairs bedroom is accessed via outdoor staircase and does not have a bathroom on that level (wasn’t a problem for us - just something to know).

Best vacation ever!

Thank you Dave and Lori for an incredible rental!! From the time we booked to the time we checked out, every single question of mine was answered promptly. The information in the welcome packet and online goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. Aside from the customer service the house is also wonderful. The house was very comfortable and clean. We brought our portable blackstone grill and cooked most of our breakfasts on the patio. We used the nice bbq in the evening to make dinner. We never wanted to go inside. The view is epic! We were welcomed by deer in the back and numerous hummingbirds. The walk to the water wasn’t terrible but could be difficult for some. We knew from the welcome packet to bring water shoes and it was easy peasy. The good news is.. the drive to the marina is a minute or two away so it’s a win win. Everything is so close. Everyone was so nice. The Basshole was a fun place to go for dinner. We love this retreat and will be back!

Thanksgiving fun!!!

We had a great experience. The Owners are very responsive and seem to really want you to have a great stay. They house is still a bit dated even though it is listed as partially recently updated. It worked for us as we wanted the cabin feel. It is well stocked with towels, bedding and kitchen items. (We cooked thanksgiving dinner) We had a big snow storm over thanksgiving and lost power. The owner had anticipated this well in advance as he was watching the weather and let us know about a generator we could use. They had never had a power outage before. We decided to lite candles and a fire and play games. It only lasted 20 min. So it was no big deal. We had a fire going the whole week and were happy for all the supplies wood and hot tub during the snow. The rooms are a bit funky. 2 rooms are up steep stairs and the basement room is accessed by having to go outside and down outer stairs. I got the master on the main level so I was happy. It was very comfy. Again it worked great for us as our kids got to all sleep in the loft together. I would recommend this place and I’m sure it is very lively in the summer months. But we had a blast over Thanksgiving. Very quiet and very snowy. Was GREAT !! Again the owner was very responsive and helpful if needed.

Stormi, We are glad you had a great time. We do really try to make sure our guests have the best time. As far as the house being partially dated and the steep stairs... let me comment about that for future guests.... We always try to be very transparent about all of this on our detailed web site and in our 40 page welcome package that shows photos and talks about all of this. We communicate this to make sure no one's experience is less than a 5 star (our constant objective). On these two matters, the house was remodeled only a few years ago but is still a cabin that was built in the 1960's. To make it more enjoyable we did the following: all new flooring, new windows, new sliders, new window coverings, two new large decks, new hot tub, new painting inside and out, new floor plan, new furniture, new appliances and much more. What is on the "to do list" is new cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms. These are dated but functional. All our proceeds go to upgrading the home. On the stairs, yes they are steep (1960's style) and we really don't have a way to address that as of now. Again, all of this we try to communicate so there is no misunderstanding. As outlined in the Welcome package that covers all of this, we offer cancellations within 24 hours if something is not to your expectations. We encourage our potential guests to read the other 100+ Five Star reviews that are posted here on VRBO and our web site. Convenient Location on the Lake

The home was spacious for our family reunion. There were a few cleanliness issues with long fluffy dog hair on the floor and deck and programming the A/C to cool adequately. Overall, the stay was comfortable and the host was very responsive via text.

With over two decades of cherished family memories at Shasta Lake, we, David and Lori, came to regard Shasta Lake as the highlight of our summers. It's a place where families can bond, and where the range of activities appeals to every age group, making it the perfect spot for a family getaway.

Our love for Shasta Lake runs deep, leading us to make a life-changing decision in 2015 when we purchased our first lakefront home, known as Shasta Lakeshore Retreat #1. The incredible experiences we had here were simply too good not to share and we knew our houseboat days were over after staying in this home.

A year later, we acquired the property next door, now known as Shasta Lakeshore Retreat #2, bolstered by the popularity of our first home, which had become a year-round favorite.

In 2019, our two grown sons also fell in love with this wonderful place, prompting them to buy a home on the same charming street, christened as Shasta Lakeshore Retreat #3. They entrusted us with its management, a responsibility we take to heart. All three homes required significant investment and remodeling as they had been neglected for years.

After many requests from dear friends and neighbors, in 2021 we started managing other properties, which further enriched our collection. Although we only own two of them, today, we proudly represent 19 remarkable homes, each carefully selected for its unique charm, quality, and comfort. We firmly believe that an extraordinary home is the foundation of an unforgettable getaway, and we want nothing less than perfection for our valued guests.

Our journey doesn't end here; it's an ongoing adventure inspired by our passion for Shasta & the surrounding areas. We are committed to carefully expanding our offerings, reviewing additional unique homes to provide more options for all the wonderful families that come to visit this recreational area year after year providing them a much needed lodging option.
